New York got going with a Mikhail Grabovski power play goal in the second period, his second of the season, powered by Josh Bailey and Johnny Boychuk. The Islanders added on with a Frans Nielsen goal in the third period, his second of the year, guided in by Nikolay Kulemin and Kyle Okposo. New York extended the lead as Cal Clutterbuck scored his third of the season, thanks to Casey Cizikas. The Islanders padded the lead on a Okposo goal, his fourth of the year, fueled by Kulemin. Chelyabinsk got on the board with a second period power play goal by Andrei Popov, powered by Dmitry Pestunov and Yegor Martynov. Traktor tied it with a Filip Novak goal, coming off of Anton Glinkin and Popov. Togliatti regained the lead in the third period as Dmitry Vorobyov scored, thanks to Belousov. Lada iced it at 4-2 with a Viklund empty net goal, set up by Zatovic and Belousov, the latter getting a sock trick.
