Welcome to football, everybody. My hopes, as usual, are to cover every game to the best of my ability and provide accurate recaps of NFL games throughout the season. East Rutherford, New Jersey, with the New York Giants hosting the Dallas Cowboys. New York opened the scoring in the second quarter as Lawrence Tynes kicked a 22-yard field goal. Dallas pulled ahead with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Kevin Ogletree, and Dan Bailey made the extra point. The Cowboys added on in the third quarter as Romo connected with Ogletree for another touchdown, this time for 40 yards, and Bailey again converted the extra point. The Giants answered as Ahmad Bradshaw ran 10 yards for a touchdown, with Tynes kicking the extra point. Dallas extended the lead on a 33-yard field goal from Bailey. The Cowboys struck again in the fourth quarter as Romo hooked up with Miles Austin for a 34 yard touchdown, iced off with a Bailey PAT. New York pulled back with Eli Manning connecting for a 9 yard touchdown to Martellus Bennett, and Tynes kicked the extra point. They failed to tie it, losing 24-17. Dallas improves to 1-0 while the Giants start their title defense in an 0-1 hole.
