This week begins with a pair of Thursday games, as rivals around the league clash. First up...
The Chicago Fire host the Columbus Crew SC. Zack Steffen faces a lesser foe in Stefan Cleveland in goal. Michael de Leeuw of Chicago had a yellow card for a fifty-fifth minute foul. Columbus saw Federico Higuain take a yellow card for dissent in the sixty-fifth minute. The Fire got going in the sixty-seventh minute with a Nemanja Nikolic goal. Aleksandar Katai of Chicago received a yellow card for a sixty-ninth minute foul. The Crew retied it on a Niko Hansen goal in the eighty-seventh minute. Bastian Schweinsteiger of the Fire received a yellow card for a foul in stoppage time. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with Cleveland the man of the match for going five for six in saves.
