The Flames tied it on a Toffoli goal, his seventeenth of the year, via Elias Lindholm and Dillon Dube. Ottawa tied it on a Josh Norris goal, his second of the year, via Claude Giroux. The Jets took the lead back with a Scheifele goal in the second period, his twenty-seventh of the season, assisted by Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt. Winnipeg added on with a Blake Wheeler goal, his twelfth of the year, coming off of Ehlers and Neal Pionk. The Blue Jackets tied it on a Boone Jenner goal, his twelfth of the year, guided in by Kent Johnson and Gustav Nyquist. San Jose regained the lead in the third period with a Sturm goal, his eleventh of the season, going in unassisted. The Hurricanes added on with a Jesper Fast goal, his sixth of the year, fueled by Staal. New York got on the board with a Simon Holmstrom goal, his second of the season, via Anders Lee. The Islanders tied it on a Brock Nelson goal, his seventeenth of the year, going in unassisted. Carolina pulled ahead with a Sebastian Aho goal, his fifteenth of the season, guided in by Teuvo Teravainen. The Hurricanes extended the lead as Aho scored his second of the game and sixteenth of the year, an unassisted goal. Carolina iced it at 5-2 with an empty net goal by Aho, completing his hat trick on his seventeenth of the campaign, set up by Teravainen and Paul Stastny. Westward to St. Louis, where the Blues bring in the Chicago Blackhawks. Jaxson Stauber is mismatched with Jordan Binnington in goal. The Blackhawks added on with a Lafferty shorthanded goal, his sixth of the year, set up by Dickinson. Chicago extended the lead in the second period as Reese Johnson scored his fourth of the season, thanks to Colin Blackwell and MacKenzie Entwistle. St. Louis got on the board with a Jordan Kyrou power play goal, his twenty-second of the year, powered by Brayden Schenn and Justin Faulk. The Predators added on with a Matt Duchene goal, his twelfth of the year, guided in by Cody Glass and Roman Josi. Jonathan Quick replaced Copley in goal. Los Angeles got on the board with a Sean Durzi goal, his sixth of the season, made possible by Anze Kopitar. The Kings tied it in the second period with an Adrian Kempe goal, his nineteenth of the year, fueled by Kopitar and Drew Doughty. Los Angeles pulled ahead with a Quinton Byfield power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Phillip Danault and Durzi. Nashville tied it again with a Johansen power play goal, his eleventh of the year, with assists provided by Granlund and Josi. Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights host the Washington Capitals. Darcy Kuemper and Logan Thompson guard the cages. Vegas led off in the first period with an Alec Martinez goal, coming off of Chandler Stephenson and Alex Pietrangelo. The Golden Knights added on with a Nicolas Roy goal, his ninth of the season, via Jonathan Marchessault and Martinez. Vegas extended the lead as Michael Amadio scored his seventh of the year in the second period, thanks to Stephenson. The Golden Knights padded the lead on a Byron Froese goal, passed from Jonas Rondbjerg and Pietrangelo. Charlie Lindgren replaced Kuemper in goal. Vegas continued with a Paul Cotter goal, his seventh of the season, courtesy of Roy. Washington got on the board with a T.J. Oshie goal, his tenth of the year, made possible by Erik Gustafsson and Dylan Strome. The Golden Knights replied with a Cotter goal, his second of the game and eighth of the season, assisted by Roy and Keegan Kolesar. The Penguins added on with a Jason Zucker goal, his thirteenth of the year, going in unassisted. Pittsburgh extended the lead in the second period as Guentzel scored his nineteenth of the season, thanks to Bryan Rust. Ottawa got on the board with a Brady Tkachuk goal, his seventeenth of the year, via Tim Stutzle. The Penguins shot back with a Guentzel goal, his second of the game and twentieth of the campaign, made possible by Sidney Crosby and Rust in the third period. Toronto extended the lead on a Mitch Marner shorthanded goal, his seventeenth of the season, going in unassisted. Winnipeg got on the board with a Kyle Connor power play goal, his twenty-third of the year, powered by Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele. New York drew first blood in the first period with a Mika Zibanejad goal, his twentieth of the season, assisted by Kaapo Kakko and Adam Fox. The Rangers added on with a Barclay Goodrow power play goal, his ninth of the year, powered by K'Andre Miller and Kakko. New York extended the lead in the second period as Vitali Kravtsov scored his third of the season, thanks to Filip Chytil and Goodrow. Columbus got on the board in the third period with an Andrew Peeke goal, his fourth of the year, coming off of Gustav Nyquist and Jack Roslovic. The final held at 3-1, with the three stars being Goodrow, Kakko, and Halak (24 for 25 in saves).

Next up, the New York Islanders bring in the Washington Capitals. Darcy Kuemper and Ilya Sorokin tend the twines. New York led off in the first period with a Sebastian Aho goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of Josh Bailey and Noah Dobson. The Islanders added on with a Matt Martin goal, his fourth of the year, via Cal Clutterbuck and Alexander Romanov. New York extended the lead in the second period as Hudson Fasching scored his third of the season, thanks to Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Anthony Beauvillier. Washington got on the board with a Garnet Hathaway goal, his seventh of the year, passed from Alex Ovechkin and Marcus Johansson. The Capitals got closer with a Tom Wilson goal, guided in by Nicklas Backstrom and Dmitry Orlov. Washington tied it in the third period as T.J. Oshie scored his ninth of the season, with the help of Erik Gustafsson and Evgeny Kuznetsov. The Capitals won 4-3 in overtime with an Orlov goal, his third of the year, helped along by Oshie and Sonny Milano. The three stars were Orlov, Oshie, and Wilson.

West again to St. Louis, where the Blues host the Ottawa Senators. Cam Talbot and Jordan Binnington are the veterans in goal. St. Louis began in the first period with a Jake Neighbours goal, his third of the season, via Calle Rosen and Josh Leivo. The Blues added on with a Noel Acciari goal, his tenth of the year, going in unassisted. Ottawa got on the board in the second period with a Tim Stutzle goal, his nineteenth of the campaign, assisted by Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson. This only made it 2-1, the eventual final, with the three stars going to Binnington (32 for 33 in saves), Acciari, and Neighbours. 

Finally, the Nashville Predators host the Calgary Flames. Jacob Markstrom and Juuse Saros are between the pipes. Nashville struck first in the first period with a Roman Josi goal, his twelfth of the season, via Ryan McDonagh and Matt Duchene. The Predators added on with a Juuso Parssinen goal, his fifth of the year, coming off of Tanner Jeannot and Colton Sissons. Calgary got on the board in the second period with a Nikita Zadorov goal, his seventh of the campaign, guided in by Mikael Backlund and Andrew Mangiapane. The final held from here at 2-1, with the three stars being Saros (38 for 39 in saves), Parssinen, and Josi.

NHL 2022-23 - Day 94

There's just three games on today, beginning with...

The Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Vancouver Canucks. Collin Delia and Pyotr Kochetkov are the young goalies. Carolina began in the first period with a Paul Stastny goal, his third of the season, assisted by Andrei Svechnikov and Calvin de Haan. The Hurricanes added on with a Jordan Martinook goal, his tenth of the year, made possible by Jaccob Slavin. Vancouver got on the board with an Ethan Bear goal, his third of the season, fueled by Andrei Kuzmenko and Jack Studnicka in the second period. The Canucks tied it in the third period with a J.T. Miller goal, his seventeenth of the year, via Quinn Hughes. Carolina retook the lead with a Sebastian Aho goal, his fourteenth of the season, coming off of Teuvo Teravainen and Slavin. Vancouver retied it with a Brock Boeser goal, his ninth of the year, guided in by Bo Horvat and Kuzmenko. The tie went to a shootout, where Kuzmenko and Elias Pettersson lifted the Canucks to a 4-3 win over Svechnikov and the Hurricanes. The three stars were Kuzmenko, Slavin, and Svechnikov. 

Up in New York, the Rangers welcome the Montreal Canadiens. Sam Montembeault is mismatched with Igor Shesterkin in goal. Montreal got going in the second period with a Kirby Dach power play goal, his eighth of the season, powered by Christian Dvorak and Cole Caufield. New York tied it on an Artemi Panarin goal, his twelfth of the year, assisted by Filip Chytil and K'Andre Miller. The Canadiens took the lead back in the third period with a Caufield goal, his twenty-sixth of the campaign, passed from Nick Suzuki and Joel Armia. This stood for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Caufield, Montembeault (38 for 39 in saves), and Dach. 

Finally, the Winnipeg Jets bring in the Arizona Coyotes. Karel Vejmelka and Connor Hellebuyck protect the nets. Winnipeg dented the scoreboard in the second period with a Pierre-Luc Dubois power play goal, his twentieth of the season, powered by Josh Morrissey and Nikolaj Ehlers. Arizona tied it on a Clayton Keller goal, his fifteenth of the year, guided in by Nick Schmaltz and Jakob Chychrun. The Jets retook the lead on a Blake Wheeler goal, his eleventh of the campaign, fueled by Mark Scheifele and Cole Perfetti. This stood for the eventual 2-1 final score, with the three stars given to Hellebuyck (20 for 21 in saves), Wheeler, and Dubois.
