Only one game today, coming from Moscow, as Spartak hosts their neighbors to the south, Vityaz Podolsk. Johan Backlund and Jeff Glass are in the creases. Podolsk opened in the first period with a Maxim Mamin goal, assisted by Sergei Topol and Pavel Makarenko. Moscow tied it as Matt Anderson scored a power play goal, with a lone assist by Nikolai Zherdev. Spartak gained the lead with a power play goal by Evgeny Kulik, powered by Vyacheslav Kozlov and Alexander Nikulin. Vityaz tied it with a Vyachelsav Solodukhin goal, coming off of Pavel Chernov. Moscow won it 3-2 in overtime on a Deron Quint power play goal in overtme, with assists provided by Rastislav Spirko and Zherdev. The three stars were Quint, Zherdev, and Kulik.
