One game on today, coming from Kazan, as Ak Bars hosts Vityaz Podolsk. Johan Backlund and Konstantin Barulin. Kazan led off in the first period with a Mikhail Varnakov goal, assisted by Alexander Burmistrov and Evgeny Medvedev. Ak Bars added on in the second period as Tim Stapleton scored a power play goal, powered by Medvedev and Shaun Heshka. Kazan extended the lead on a power play goal by Alexander Svitov, set up by Ilya Nikulin and Alexander Osipov. Podolsk got on the board as Anton Korolyov scored a power play goal, via Dmitry Shitikov and Vladimir Malevich. Vityaz pulled closer with an unassisted Korolyov. Podolsk tied it in the third period as Gleb Klimenko scored, thanks to the goalie Backlund and Shitikov on the power play. Vityaz gained the lead with a Vyacheslav Solodukhin goal, going in unassisted. Ak Bars tied it with an Evgeny Bodrov goal, fueled by Medvedev, who got a sock trick, and Heshka. Podolsk won it 5-4 with a lone tally by Shitikov in the shootout. The three stars were Shitikov, Korolyov, and Medvedev, while Heshka gets an honorable mention
