Phoenix took the lead as Lauri Korpikoski scored, with the help of Mike Ribeiro and David Moss. Carolina tied it again with a power play goal by Jeff Skinner, his second of the season, powered by Nathan Gerbe. The Coyotes retook the lead on a Klinkhammer goal, his second of the game, fueled by Zbynek Michalek and the goalie Smith.
