Chivas began the scoring in the fifty-third minute as Erick Torres put away a goal. Chivas lacked discipline late in the match, as Mauro Rosales in the seventy-sixth minute, Tony Lochhead in the eighty-second minute, and Bobby Burling in the second minute of stoppage time all picked up yellow cards for fouls.
