The Coyotes took the lead in the third period on an Antoine Vermette goal, his twelfth of the season, passed from Ekman-Larsson. The Blackhawks retied it on a Hossa goal, his second of the game and fourteenth of the year, guided in by Toews. The tie lasted to a shootout, where Lucas Lessio and Vermette combined to top Patrick Kane and give Arizona a 3-2 win.
