2015/16 KHL Season - Day 1

SKA St. Petersburg hosting CSKA Moscow. Stanislav Galimov and Mikko Koskinen protect the nets. Moscow got going in the second period with an Alexander Radulov goal, assisted by Jan Mursak and Igor Ozhiganov. St. Petersburg tied it on a Joakim Lindstrom goal, fueled by Dmitry Yudin. CSKA retook the lead as Nikita Zaitsev scored a power play goal, thanks to Geoff Platt. SKA retied it on a Maxim Chudinov goal, coming off of Anton Belov and Vadim Shipachyov on the power play. Moscow pulled ahead again in the third period with an Ozhiganov goal, made possible by Ivan Telegin. St. Petersburg tied it again with an Ilya Kovalchuk power play goal, powered by Evgeny Dadonov and Shipachyov. CSKA won 4-3 in overtime on a Platt goal. The three stars belonged to Platt, Ozhiganov, and Shipachyov.
