The Red Bulls tied it in the fifty-second minute as Lloyd Sam scored, with the help of Grella. In the fifty-fifth minute, Montreal's Eric Alexander received a yellow card for a foul. New York saw a yellow card go to Shaun Wright-Phillips in the seventy-fifth minute for his foul. The Impact received a yellow card for Johan Venegas' persistent infringement in the same minute. Montreal went down to ten men in the seventy-ninth minute as Ciman picked up his second yellow card of the game for a foul, earning an ejection. The final stood at 1-1, with Sam being the man of the match for his equalizer.
Over in Ontario, Toronto FC hosts Orlando City SC. Tally Hall and Joe Bendik make the starts in goal. Orlando City's Seb Hines had a yellow card in the eighth minute. Toronto started in the twelfth minute on a Sebastian Giovinco penalty kick goal. Orlando City tied it in the seventeenth minute on a Luke Boden goal, via Cristian Higuita. In the forty-sixth minute, Damien Perquis of Toronto took a yellow card. Orlando City's Darwin Ceren received a yellow card in the fifty-fifth minute, leading to Toronto taking the lead through a Giovinco goal the next minute. In the seventy-fifth minute, Benoit Cheyrou of Toronto and Servando Carrasco of Orlando City each received yellow cards. Toronto added on in the eighty-first minute as Collen Warner scored, thanks to Jonathan Osorio and Cheyrou. Toronto extended the lead as Giovinco completed his hat trick in the eighty-eighth minute, with an assist from Cheyrou. The final stood at 4-1, with Giovinco as the man of the match.
