KHL 2016/17 - Day 13

Only two games on the slate today, beginning with...

Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk hosting Traktor Chelyabinsk. Vasily Demchenko and Alexander Sharychenkov are in goal. Chelyabinsk led off in the first period with an Alexander Chernikov goal, guided in by Yury Petrov. Khanty-Mansiysk tied it on an Andrei Ankudinov goal, assisted by Igor Radulov and Vitaly Shulakov. The tie went to a shootout, where Pavel Varfolomeyev scored twice for Ugra to top one tally by Traktor's Igor Mirnov for a 2-1 Ugra win. The three stars went to Varfolomeyev, Sharychenkov (27 for 28 in saves), and Demchenko (32 for 33 in saves).

The other game sees Severstal Cherepovets host Ak Bars Kazan. Emil Garipov and Jakub Kovar protect the nets. Cherepovets began in the first period with an Igor Skorokhodov goal, coming off of Igor Magogin and Vitaly Sitnikov. Kazan tied it in the second period with an Alexander Svitov power play goal, powered by Vasily Tokranov and Jiri Sekac. Ak Bars took the lead in the third period on a Mikhail Sidorov goal, fueled by Mikhail Zhukov and Sekac. Severstal tied it on a Pavel Chernov power play goal, made possible by Adam Masuhr and Dmitry Kagarlitsky. Kazan won 3-2 on an overtime penalty shot goal by Vladimir Tkachyov, after he was interfered with by Denis Yezhov. The three stars were Tkachyov, Sekac, and Sidorov.
