At the usual time, the Buffalo Sabres bring in the Columbus Blue Jackets. Joonas Korpisalo and Anders Nilsson are the backups in goal. Columbus opened in the first period with a David Savard goal, his fifth of the season, passed from Sam Gagner and Scott Hartnell. The Blue Jackets added on with a Nick Foligno goal, his twenty-fourth of the year, via Brandon Saad and Zach Werenski.
