Just one game on at midweek this week, with the Portland Thorns FC hosting the North Carolina Courage. Katelyn Rowland and Britt Eckerstrom are the backups in goal. North Carolina opened in the thirty-first minute with a Lynn Williams penalty kick goal, earned by Debinha against Katherine Reynolds. Portland's Christine Sinclair had a thirty-eighth minute yellow card for persistent infringement. The Courage added on in the fifty-eighth minute with a Debinha goal, set up by Crystal Dunn. North Carolina extended the lead in the sixty-second minute with another Williams goal, passed from Samantha Mewis and Jessica McDonald on a long throw-in. The Courage padded the lead on a Mewis goal off a corner kick in the sixty-fourth minute, helped along by McDonald and Jaelene Hinkle. In the eighty-eighth minute, North Carolina's Kristen Hamilton took a yellow card for a foul. The Thorns got on the board in the eighty-ninth minute with a Reynolds goal, created on a failed clearance from a Tobin Heath free kick. The game ended at 4-1 Courage, with the woman of the match being Debinha. Also strong for North Carolina were Williams, Dunn, Mewis, McCall Zerboni, and Abby Erceg, while the Thorns saw good efforts from Reynolds, Heath, and Lindsey Horan.
