Minnesota had yellow cards for a handball by Francisco Calvo in the thirtieth minute and a forty-fifth minute Collen Warner foul. Minnesota added on in first half stoppage time with a Darwin Quintero goal. New England got on the board in the fifty-second minute with a Diego Fagundez penalty kick goal. In the fifty-fifth minute, Jalil Anibaba of the Revolution and Minnesota's Quintero each took yellow cards for fouls. Miguel Ibarra of Minnesota had a yellow card for time wasting in the sixty-second minute. New England saw yellow cards for fouls by Kelyn Rowe in the seventy-fifth minute and Juan Agudelo in the eighty-third minute. Michael Boxall of Minnesota received a yellow card for time wasting in the ninetieth minute. The final held at 2-1 Minnesota, with Shuttleworth the man of the match for going six for seven in saves.
