MLS 2018 Week 25 Midweek

Midweek starts early with a Tuesday game in...

Los Angeles, as the Galaxy host the Colorado Rapids. Tim Howard and David Bingham man the nets. Kortne Ford of Colorado had a yellow card for a twenty-seventh minute foul. Los Angeles saw a yellow card for a Dave Romney foul in the fiftieth minute. The Galaxy got going in the fifty-ninth minute with an Ashley Cole goal, assisted by Chris Pontius. Los Angeles' Servando Carrasco took a yellow card for his seventy-third minute foul. The Rapids tied it on an Edgar Castillo goal in the seventy-fourth minute. The Galaxy reclaimed the lead in the seventy-eighth minute on a Sebastian Lletget goal, passed from Pontius. Colorado retied it on a Niki Jackson goal, guided in by Castillo. This made it 2-2, the final, with Castillo named man of the match.

On Wednesday, DC United welcomes the Portland Timbers. Jeff Attinella and Bill Hamid are the keepers. Paul Arriola of DC had a yellow card for a thirty-third minute foul. Portland started in the thirty-fifth minute with a Samuel Armenteros goal, assisted by Andy Polo and Sebastian Blanco. DC tied it on a Wayne Rooney goal in the forty-third minute, fueled by Yamil Asad. DC took the lead in the forty-seventh minute with an Oniel Fisher goal, set up by Luciano Acosta. DC added on in the sixty-eighth minute with a Rooney goal. DC had yellow cards for fouls by Russell Canouse in the seventy-second minute and Acosta in the seventy-third minute. DC extended the lead as Darren Mattocks scored in stoppage time, thanks to Ulises Segura. Mattocks also took a yellow card for delay of game. DC won 4-1, with Rooney as the man of the match.

Midweek action ends with Los Angeles FC bringing in Real Salt Lake. Nick Rimando and Tyler Miller patrol the penalty areas. Los Angeles opened in the thirteenth minute with a Christian Ramirez goal, via Carlos Vela. Sunny of Salt Lake had a yellow card for a twenty-fourth minute foul. Los Angeles added on in the thirtieth minute with another Ramirez goal, set up by Eduard Atuesta and Jordan Harvey. In the thirty-third minute, Atuesta had a yellow card for a foul for Los Angeles. Real saw yellow cards given to Brooks Lennon in the thirty-eighth minute and Shawn Barry in the forty-third minute, both for fouls. At the start of the second half, Real switched keepers, with Rimando going off and Andrew Putna coming on. Salt Lake's Kyle Beckerman took a yellow card for dissent in the sixty-third minute, while teammate Justen Glad also got booked in the eighty-fourth minute for his foul. Los Angeles held on to win 2-0, with Ramirez named man of the match.
