Atlanta's Eric Remedi took a yellow card in the 86th minute for a foul. Atlanta held on to win 1-0, with the man of the match being Martinez.
Wednesday's four-pack ends with the Seattle Sounders FC hosting Orlando City SC. Greg Ranjitsingh is mismatched with Stefan Frei in goal. The Lions saw yellow cards for fouls by Dom Dwyer in the 79th minute and Oriol Rosell in the 89th minute. The final held at 2-1 for Seattle, with Smith picked as man of the match.
On Thursday, Los Angeles FC faces FC Dallas for the first of a four-day home-and-home. Jose Luis Gonzalez and Tyler Miller play in goal. Los Angeles was first to score in the 39th minute with a Carlos Vela goal, assisted by Eduard Atuesta. Bryan Acosta of Dallas had a yellow card for persistent infringement in the 63rd minute. Walker Zimmerman of the Black and Gold received a yellow card for his 68th minute foul. Los Angeles added on in the 83rd minute on a Diego Rossi goal, via Adama Diomande and Vela. The final stayed at 2-0, with the man of the match being Vela.
