Just a single game today as New York City FC hosts the Houston Dynamo. Tyler Deric and Sean Johnson draw the starts in goal. New York City struck first in the 16th minute with an Alexandru Mitrita goal, assisted by Heber and Jesus Medina. Houston tied it on a Juan Cabezas goal in the 26th minute, passed from Tommy McNamara and Tomas Martinez. The Dynamo went down to ten men in the 29th minute with a straight red card issued to Romell Quioto for violent conduct. Memo Rodriguez of Houston took a yellow card for a 38th minute foul. The Pigeons saw yellow cards for fouls by Eric Miller in the 42nd minute and Alexander Ring in first half stoppage time. The Dynamo's Aljaz Struna picked up a yellow card for a 62nd minute foul. Houston pulled ahead in the 77th minute with a Mauro Manotas goal, guided in by Matias Vera. Adam Lundkvist of the Dynamo received a yellow card for his 82nd minute foul. New York City retied it in the 83rd minute with a Valentin Castellanos goal, fueled by Keaton Parks. Houston's Vera earned a yellow card in the 86th minute for a foul. The Pigeons pulled ahead in second half stoppage time with another Castellanos goal, and he took a yellow card for delay of game during the celebration. The final was 3-2, with Castellanos as the man of the match.
