The Detroit Red Wings welcoming the Calgary Flames. Dan Vladar and James Reimer are the backups in goal. Detroit led off in the first period with an Alex DeBrincat goal, his sixth of the season, courtesy of Justin Holl and Lucas Raymond. The Red Wings added on with a Joe Veleno goal, his third of the year, via Ben Chiarot and Holl. Detroit extended the lead in the second period as Dylan Larkin scored his third of the season, thanks to DeBrincat. Calgary got on the board with an Andrew Mangiapane goal, his third of the year, assisted by Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman. The Red Wings answered with another DeBrincat goal, his second of the game and seventh of the season, passed from Larkin and Raymond. The Flames got one back with a Yegor Sharangovich goal, helped along by Walker Duehr and Nikita Zadorov. Detroit answered in the third period with a Jake Walman goal, fueled by Daniel Sprong and David Perron. The Red Wings padded the lead on a DeBrincat goal to complete his hat trick with his eighth of the year, with helpers from Raymond and Holl. The final held at 6-2, with the three stars being DeBrincat, Raymond, and Holl, while Larkin gets an honorable mention.
Out in Anaheim, the Ducks bring in the Boston Bruins. Linus Ullmark and John Gibson are in the creases. Anaheim dented the scoreboard in the third period with a Mason McTavish goal, his second of the season, courtesy of Ryan Strome and Frank Vatrano. Boston tied it on a Matthew Poitras goal, via Morgan Geekie and Ian Mitchell. The Bruins took the lead with another Poitras goal, helped along by Jake DeBrusk and Charlie McAvoy. Boston added on with a Brad Marchand empty net goal, his third of the year, set up by Charlie Coyle. The three stars went to Poitras, Ullmark (30 for 31 in saves), and Marchand.
