Over in Detroit, the Red Wings welcome the Chicago Blackhawks. Petr Mrazek and Alex Lyon handle the goaltending duties. Detroit started in the first period with a J.T. Across the border, the Montreal Canadiens bring in the Florida Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky faces a lesser foe in Cayden Primeau in goal. The Panthers added on in the third period with a Sam Bennett goal, his third of the year, fueled by Carter Verhaeghe. New York tied it on a Bo Horvat goal, his seventh of the year, courtesy of Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee. The Hurricanes took the lead in the second period with a Jordan Staal goal, his second of the season, assisted by Jordan Martinook. The Islanders tied it on a shorthanded Simon Holmstrom goal, his sixth of the year, set up by Jean-Gabriel Pageau. New York took the lead with a Pierre Engvall goal, his second of the season, coming off of Barzal and Noah Dobson. In California, the Anaheim Ducks host the Washington Capitals. Darcy Kuemper and John Gibson are between the pipes.
