NHL 2023-24 - Day 163

There's just one game this Friday, as the Buffalo Sabres host the New Jersey Devils. Jake Allen and Devon Levi are in goal. New Jersey struck first in the first period with a Max Willman goal, his third of the season, via Luke Hughes and Chris Tierney. The Devils added on with a Jesper Bratt goal, his twenty-fourth of the year, coming off of Nico Hischier and Timo Meier. Buffalo got on the board in the second period with a Tage Thompson goal, his twenty-third of the season, going in unassisted. The Sabres tied it on another Thompson goal, his second of the game and twenty-fourth of the year, passed from Alex Tuch. Buffalo took the lead in the third period with a Thompson goal in the third period, completing his hat trick on his twenty-fifth of the season, assisted by Rasmus Dahlin and Tuch. The Sabres extended the lead as JJ Peterka scored his twenty-sixth of the year into an empty net, with the help of Dylan Cozens and Owen Power. Buffalo iced it at 5-2 with a Thompson empty net goal, his fourth of the game and twenty-sixth of the campaign, set up by Henri Jokiharju. The three stars were Thompson, Tuch, and Levi (28 for 30 in saves).
