Playoff baseball. Vice Presidential Debates. Thursday Night Football. I'm watching all three in bits and pieces, but this post right here is for the football, as the Tennessee Titans host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tennessee started with a first quarter Rob Bironas field goal of 22 yards. Pittsburgh tied it as Shaun Suisham made a 29 yard field goal. The Steelers took the lead as Ben Roethlisberger threw an 82 yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace, and Suisham tacked on the extra point. The Titans shot back as Bironas made a 38 yard field goal. Tennessee took the lead in the second quarter as Jamie Harper ran 1 yard for a touchdown, and Bironas knocked in the extra point. The Titans padded the lead as Bironas made a 47 yard field goal. Pittsburgh pulled back as Suisham booted a 28 yard field goal. The Steelers took the lead in the third quarter on a 1 yard touchdown rush by Baron Batch, and Suisham was there with the extra point. Pittsburgh struck again in the fourth quarter as Suisham nailed a 52 yard field goal. Tennessee answered as Matt Hasselbeck threw 5 yards for a touchdown connection with Kenny Britt. The Titans won 26-23 on a Bironas 40 yard field goal. Tennessee moves to 2-4 while Pittsburgh falls to 2-3.

National League Division Series: Cincinnati Reds VS. San Francisco Giants
Welcome to the post for the NLDS with the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants. If you are following along throughout the series, come back here, as this post will recap the entire series.
Game 1: AT&T Park, San Francisco, California. On the mound: Matt Cain for San Francisco and Johnny Cueto for Cincinnati. Cueto didn't last long, leaving after recording one out with a reported case of back spasms. Cincinnati began in the third inning on a two-run Brandon Phillips home run, also scoring Drew Stubbs. The Reds got another in the fourth inning on a Jay Bruce solo home run. San Francisco got on the board in the sixth inning when Buster Posey hit a solo shot. Cincinnati extended the lead in the ninth inning with Phillips singling to knock in Ryan Hanigan, followed by Xavier Paul scoring on a passed ball. The Giants took one back in the bottom of the ninth when Joaquin Arias dashed home on a wild pitch, but this only made it 5-2. Sam LeCure was given the win, and Cain was handed the loss. Cincinnati holds a 1-0 series lead.

Cincinnati extended the lead in the eighth inning as Jay Bruce doubled in both Votto and Chris Heisey before scoring on a Hanigan single, and Hanigan was forced in by a triple from Drew Stubbs, who then came the final 90 feet on a double by Brandon Phillips. This was it for the scoring, with the final being 9-0, leaving the win with Arroyo, while Bumgarner had a rough time in the loss. The Reds head home with a stranglehold on the Giants, owning a 2-0 series lead.
Game 3: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio. On the mound: Homer Bailey for Cincinnati and Ryan Vogelsong for San Francisco. The Giants took the lead in the tenth inning as Joaquin Arias reached on an error that allowed Buster Posey to dash home. This was enough for a 2-1 win, picked up by Sergio Romo, while Jonathan Broxton was stuck holding the loss. The series also stands at 2-1, but in Cincinnati's favor.
Game 4: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio. On the mound: Mike Leake for Cincinnati and Barry Zito for San Francisco. San Francisco opened in the first inning as Angel Pagan hit a solo home run. Cincinnati tied it in the bottom of the first on a Todd Frazier bases-loaded walk to force in Joey Votto. The Giants retook the lead in the second inning as Gregor Blanco hit a two-run home run, also scoring Hector Sanchez. The Reds got one back in the third inning on a Ryan Ludwick solo shot. San Francisco replied in the fifth inning as Pagan doubled to drive in Joaquin Arias, before scoring on a Pablo Sandoval sacrifice fly. Cincinnati shot back in the sixth inning as Brandon Phillips hit a sacrifice fly to allow Drew Stubbs to come home. The Giants answered in the seventh inning on a Marco Scutaro double to knock in Arias, followed by Sandoval hit a two-run home run to finish Scutaro's trip around. This produced the 8-3 final, with the win going to Tim Lincecum and the loss stuck on Leake. The series heads to a decisive game, tied at 2 all.
Game 5: Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio. On the mound: Mat Latos for Cincinnati and Matt Cain for San Francisco. San Francisco got going in the fifth inning as Brandon Crawford tripled to force in Gregor Blanco, before scoring as Angel Pagan reached on an error, and then Buster Posey hit a grand slam, sweeping in Pagan, Marco Scutaro, and Pablo Sandoval. Cincinnati got some back in the bottom of the fifth as Brandon Phillips doubled both Ryan Hanigan and Drew Stubbs across the dish. The Reds got another in the sixth inning on a Ryan Ludwick solo home run. Cincinnati chipped away in the eighth inning as Ludwick singled to drive in Zack Cozart. This was as close as it got, with the final being 6-4, giving the win to Cain, the save was tossed by Sergio Romo, and the loss was served to Latos. The Giants head to the NLCS against a team to be named later.

Monday Night Football Week 5 2012
This week's game comes from New Jersey, as the New York Jets host the Houston Texans. Houston led off in the first quarter as Matt Schaub threw a 34 yard touchdown pass to Owen Daniels, and Shayne Graham was good on the extra point. New York tied it as Mark Sanchez passed 27 yards to Jeff Cumberland for a touchdown, and Nick Folk's extra point was the equalizer. The Texans took the lead again in the second quarter on a 13 yard touchdown run by Arian Foster, and Graham was there with another extra point. Houston struck again as Graham kicked in a 27 yard field goal. The Texans padded the lead in the third quarter on a Graham field goal of 42 yards. The Jets got some back on the ensuing kickoff, which was returned 100 yards by Joe McKnight for a touchdown, and Folk handled the PAT. Houston shot back as Graham was true on a field goal from 22 yards out. New York answered in the fourth quarter on a 21 yard field goal by Folk. It wasn't enough to avoid a 23-17 loss, with Houston moving to 5-0 while the Jets drop to 2-3.

NFL Week 5 Afternoon/Night Games 2012
Another six games in this post. Don't look for these until Monday afternoon, due to the aforementioned Sounders game. The first half of the afternoon games will be up at 3 PM Pacific.
First up, the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Chicago Bears. Chicago began in the first quarter on a Robbie Gould field goal of 32 yards. Jacksonville tied it in the second quarter as Josh Scobee made a 31 yard field goal. The Bears took the lead in the third quarter on a Gould 31 yard field goal. Chicago extended the lead as Charles Tillman intercepted Blaine Gabbert and returned the ball 36 yards for a touchdown, with Gould true on the extra point. The Bears added on in the fourth quarter as Jay Cutler threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffrey, and Gould made the extra point. Chicago kept going as Cutler found Brandon Marshall for a 24 yard touchdown connection, and Gould again handled the PAT. The Bears padded the lead as Lance Briggs intercepted Gabbert for 36 yards and a touchdown, followed by another Gould extra point. Chicago struck again as Armando Allen rattled off a 46 yard run for a touchdown, and Gould was true again with the extra point. This ended the scoring a 41-3, with the Bears moving to 4-1, while the Jaguars fell to 1-4.
Up in Carolina, the Panthers host the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle started in the first quarter as Steven Hauschka kicked in a 22 yard field goal. The Seahawks struck again in the second quarter as Hauschka nailed a 36 yard field goal. Carolina got on the board when Justin Medlock made a 32 yard field goal. The Panthers took the lead as Captain Munnerlyn returned an interception of Russell Wilson back to the house 33 yards for the toucdown, and Medlock was good with the PAT. Seattle regained the lead as Wilson found the right guy, Golden Tate, for a 13 yard touchdown, allowing Hauschka to tack on the extra point. The Seahawks got some more in the fourth quarter as Hauschka made a 44 yard field goal. Carolina got some back as Jon Ryan ran out of the end zone for an intentional safety (don't question it, that was by design). This made it 16-12, which held as a final, moving Seattle to 3-2 and Carolina went to 1-4.
Out west, the San Francisco 49ers host the Buffalo Bills. San Francisco opened in the first quarter as David Akers made a chip-shot 19 yard field goal. Buffalo tied it in the second quarter as Rian Lindell kicked in a 31 yard field goal. The 49ers took the lead as Alex Smith found Kyle Williams for a 43 yard touchdown connection, and Akers booted in the extra point. San Francisco extended the lead as Smith passed 28 yards to Michael Crabtree for a touchdown, and Akers again made the PAT. The 49ers got some more in the third quarter on a 1 yard Frank Gore touchdown run, and Akers was there with the extra point. San Francisco kept going in the fourth quarter as Smith tossed a 10 yard touchdown to Mario Manningham, and Akers supplied the extra point. The 49ers struck again with a 16 yard touchdown run by Colin Kaepernick, and Akers again iced the drive off with an extra point. San Francisco padded the lead again as Anthony Dixon made a 3 yard rush for a touchdown, and Akers tacked on another extra point. This made the final score 45-3, with San Francisco jumping to 4-1 and the Bills falling to 2-3.
Back east, the New England Patriots welcome the Denver Broncos. New England led off in the first quarter as Tom Brady passed 8 yards to Wes Welker for a touchdown, and Stephen Gostkowski was true on the extra point. Denver tied it in the second quarter as Peyton Manning passed 1 yard to Joel Dreessen for a touchdown, and Matt Prater's PAT was the equalizer. The Patriots took the lead back as Shane Vereen ran 1 yard for a touchdown, and Gostkowski was good with the extra point. New England got some more as Gostkowski made a 23 yard field goal. The Patriots extended the lead in the third quarter when Brady ran 1 yard for a touchdown, and Gostkowski was there with the extra point. New England padded the lead as Stevan Ridley ran 8 yards for a touchdown, allowing Gostkowski to make another extra point. The Broncos shot back as Manning tossed a 2 yard touchdown to Eric Decker, with Prater finishing the drive off with the extra point. Denver pulled closer in the fourth quarter as Manning found Brandon Stokley for a 5 yard touchdown connection, and Prater again handled the extra point. They got no closer, losing 31-21, with New England improving to 3-2, and the Broncos fell to 2-3.

Minnesota padded the lead as Christian Ponder found Harvin for a 10 yard touchdown connection, and Walsh handled the PAT. The Bears padded the lead as Lance Briggs intercepted Gabbert for 36 yards and a touchdown, followed by another Gould extra point. Chicago struck again as Armando Allen rattled off a 46 yard run for a touchdown, and Gould was true again with the extra point. Seattle regained the lead as Wilson found the right guy, Golden Tate, for a 13 yard touchdown, allowing Hauschka to tack on the extra point. The Seahawks got some more in the fourth quarter as Hauschka made a 44 yard field goal. Carolina got some back as Jon Ryan ran out of the end zone for an intentional safety (don't question it, that was by design). This made it 16-12, which held as a final, moving Seattle to 3-2 and Carolina went to 1-4.
Out west, the San Francisco 49ers host the Buffalo Bills. San Francisco opened in the first quarter as David Akers made a chip-shot 19 yard field goal. Buffalo tied it in the second quarter as Rian Lindell kicked in a 31 yard field goal. The 49ers took the lead as Alex Smith found Kyle Williams for a 43 yard touchdown connection, and Akers booted in the extra point. San Francisco extended the lead as Smith passed 28 yards to Michael Crabtree for a touchdown, and Akers again made the PAT. The 49ers got some more in the third quarter on a 1 yard Frank Gore touchdown run, and Akers was there with the extra point. San Francisco kept going in the fourth quarter as Smith tossed a 10 yard touchdown to Mario Manningham, and Akers supplied the extra point. The 49ers struck again with a 16 yard touchdown run by Colin Kaepernick, and Akers again iced the drive off with an extra point. San Francisco padded the lead again as Anthony Dixon made a 3 yard rush for a touchdown, and Akers tacked on another extra point. This made the final score 45-3, with San Francisco jumping to 4-1 and the Bills falling to 2-3.

NFL Week 5 Morning Games 2012
Only six games on this morning, and another six in the later wave of kickoffs. Those later games will be significantly postponed for publishing as I will be at the Seattle Sounders game against the Portland Timbers. Here's your morning games.
First up, the Cincinnati Bengals host the Miami Dolphins. Cincinnati got going in the first quarter as Mike Nugent kicked a 42 yard field goal. The Bengals added on an Nugent made a field goal from 24 yards. Miami took the lead in the second quarter with a 1 yard touchdown run by Daniel Thomas, and Dan Carpenter was there with the extra point. The Dolphins added on in the third quarter when Reggie Bush ran in a touchdown of 13 yards, and Carpenter supplied the PAT. Miami got some more with a Carpenter field goal of 46 yards. Cincinnati pulled closer in the fourth quarter as Andy Dalton tossed a 2 yard touchdown pass to A.J. Green, and Nugent made the extra point cleanly. They failed to rally ahead, falling 17-13, with Miami improving to 2-3 and Cincinnati falling to 3-2.
East to New Jersey, as the New York Giants host the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland started in the first quarter as Trent Richardson ran 15 yards for a touchdown, and Phil Dawson made the extra point. Indianapolis chipped away with a 50 yard field goal by Vinatieri. The Colts pulled closer as Luck ran 3 yards for a touchdown, but they failed to convert the two-point attempt. Indianapolis took the lead on a Vinatieri 28 yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The Packers took the lead back with Rodgers connecting with Jones on another touchdown, this time of 8 yards, but he couldn't go back to him on the two-point attempt. The Colts grabbed the lead as Luck passed to Reggie Wayne for a 4 yard touchdown, and Donald Brown ran the two-point conversion in successfully. This stood for a 30-27 win, moving the Colts up to 2-2 while the Packers drop to 2-3.
East again, as the Battle of Pennsylvania writes another chapter when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh was first to score in the second quarter as Ben Roethlisberger threw a 13 yard touchdown pass to Rashard Mendenhall, and Shaun Suisham finished the drive with an extra point. The Steelers added on with a Suisham field goal of 20 yards. Philadelphia got on the board in the third quarter when Michael Vick threw 15 yards for a touchdown to LeSean McCoy, and Alex Henery was there to make the extra point. Pittsburgh extended the lead in the fourth quarter on a Suisham field goal of 34 yards. The Eagles took the lead as Vick threw a touchdown pass of 2 yards to Brent Celek, and Henery's PAT was the go-ahead point. The Steelers won it 16-14 on a last second Suisham field goal from 34 yards out. Pittsburgh moved to 2-2 while Philadelphia fell to 3-2.

Atlanta tied the game when Ryan tossed a touchdown to the right guy, namely Tony Gonzalez, for a 1 yard connection that was iced off by a Matt Bryant extra point. The Redskins took the lead back in the third quarter as Cundiff made a field goal from 23 yards away. The Falcons took the lead in the fourth quarter with Ryan passing 18 yards to Julio Jones for a touchdown, and Bryant tacked on the PAT. Washington quickly struck back on a 77 yard Kirk Cousins touchdown pass to Santana Moss, and Cundiff made the extra point. Atlanta pulled even again as Bryant made a 53 yard field goal. The Falcons took the lead with a 13 yard touchdown rush by Michael Turner, and Bryant was good with the extra point. This held up for a 24-17 win, with Atlanta moving to a perfect 5-0 and the Redskins falling to 2-3.
Finally, this set ends in Kansas City, where the Chiefs welcome the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore began in the first quarter as Justin Tucker nailed a 28 yard field goal. Kansas City tied it in the second quarter as Ryan Succop made a 30 yard field goal. The Ravens took the lead back as Tucker booted in a 26 yard field in the third quarter. Baltimore extended the lead as Tucker was true on a field goal of 39 yards. The Chiefs got closer on a Succop field goal of 31 yards in the fourth quarter. They couldn't tie the game, losing 9-6.
