The Devils added on with a Nico Hischier goal, his fifteenth of the year, passed from Damon Severson and Sami Vatanen. New Jersey extended the lead in the second period as Travis Zajac scored his eleventh of the season, thanks to Michael Grabner and Will Butcher. The Devils padded the lead with a Stefan Noesen goal, his eleventh of the year, via Andy Greene. Maxime Lagace relieved Fleury in goal. Vegas got on the board with an Erik Haula power play goal, his twenty-sixth of the season, powered by Colin Miller and Nate Schmidt.
