The Maple Leafs took the lead on a William Nylander goal, his twenty-fifth of the season, guided in by Kasperi Kapanen and Andreas Johnsson. Toronto added on in the third period with an Auston Matthews goal, his thirty-seventh of the year, passed from Zach Hyman and Marner. The Panthers got one back with a Pysyk goal, his second of the game and sixth of the season, assisted by Matheson and Josh Brown.
