Nashville tied it on a Tanner Jeannot goal in the second period, his third of the year, via Dante Fabbro and Colton Sissons. The Islanders took the lead back with an Oliver Wahlstrom power play goal, his fourth of the season, with assists provided by Brock Nelson and Ryan Pulock. The Predators tied it on another Jeannot goal in the third period, his second of the game and fourth of the year, helped along by Matt Benning and Sissons. In Los Angeles, the Kings welcome the Montreal Canadiens. Jake Allen and Calvin Petersen man the nets. Montreal started in the first period with a Josh Anderson goal, his second of the season, coming off of Christian Dvorak and Alexander Romanov. Los Angeles tied it in the second period with a Viktor Arvidsson goal, his second of the year, via Anze Kopitar and Olli Maatta. The Kings took the lead with an Arthur Kaliyev power play goal, powered by Kale Clague and Kopitar. Los Angeles added on in the third period with a Rasmus Kupari power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Matt Roy and Alex Iafallo. The Kings extended the lead as Iafallo scored, his second of the year, thanks to Roy. Los Angeles padded the lead on another Iafallo power play goal, his second of the game and third of the season, with helpers from Phillip Danault and Kupari. The Candiens got one back with a Ben Chiarot goal, his second of the year, made possible by Anderson and Suzuki. The Panthers pulled ahead in the third period with an Aleksander Barkov power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by Jonathan Huberdeau and Ekblad. The Bruins tied it on a Charlie McAvoy power play goal, with assists provided by Brad Marchand and Hall. The tie went to a shootout, where Coyle's lone tally lifted the Bruins to a 3-2 win. Along to Pittsburgh, as the Penguins host the New Jersey Devils. Jonathan Bernier and Tristan Jarry are between the pipes. Pittsburgh led off in the first period with a Danton Heinen goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of Juuso Riikola and Zach Aston-Reese. New Jersey tied it on an Andreas Johnsson goal, his second of the year, via Jesper Bratt and Dougie Hamilton. The Devils took the lead in the second period with a shorthanded Jimmy Vesey goal, his second of the season, going in unassisted. The Penguins tied it in the third period with a Brock McGinn goal, his second of the year, passed from Teddy Blueger and Aston-Reese. New Jersey took the lead with a Bratt penalty shot goal. The Devils iced it at 4-2 with an empty net goal by Johnsson, his second of the game and third of the campaign, set up by P.K. Subban. The three stars went to Johnsson, Bratt, and Aston-Reese.

Up to Toronto, as the Maple Leafs welcome the Detroit Red Wings. Thomas Greiss and Petr Mrazek protect the nets. Toronto struck first in the first period with a Jake Muzzin goal, coming off of T.J. Brodie and John Tavares. Detroit tied it in the second period with a Filip Zadina power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Moritz Seider and Sam Gagner. The Maple Leafs retook the lead with a Michael Bunting power play goal, his third of the year, with assists provided by Jason Spezza and Nick Ritchie. Toronto added on in the third period with an Alexander Kerfoot goal, his second of the season, via Tavares and Muzzin. The Red Wings got one back with a Joe Veleno goal, made possible by Michael Rasmussen. The Maple Leafs replied with a Tavares goal, his third of the year, fueled by Kerfoot and Morgan Rielly. Detroit responded with a Vladislav Namestnikov goal, his fourth of the season, passed from Veleno and Jordan Oesterle. Toronto countered with a Mitchell Marner goal, going in unassisted. The Red Wings got one back with a Filip Hronek goal, with helpers from Lucas Raymond and Zadina. Out west again, the San Jose Sharks bring in the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck and James Reimer are in the blue paint. San Jose got going in the second period with a Tomas Hertl goal, his third of the season, fueled by Timo Meier and Alexander Barabanov. Winnipeg tied it on a Kyle Connor goal, his seventh of the year, assisted by Nikolaj Ehlers and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Sharks won 2-1 in overtime with a Meier power play goal, his fifth of the campaign, powered by Brent Burns. The three stars were Meier, Reimer (34 for 35 in saves), and Hellebuyck (34 for 36 in saves).

Backtracking to St. Louis, as the Blues host the Chicago Blackhawks. Marc-Andre Fleury and Jordan Binnington guard the cages. St. Louis dented the scoreboard in the third period with a Torey Krug power play goal, powered by Vladimir Tarasenko and David Perron. The final held at 1-0, with the three stars given to Binnington (25 save shutout), Krug, and Fleury (36 for 37 in saves).

West again to Colorado, as the Avalanche welcome the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot and Darcy Kuemper tend the twines. Colorado kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Gabriel Landeskog goal, his third of the season, via Andre Burakovsky and Nathan MacKinnon. Minnesota tied it in the second period with a Ryan Hartman power play goal, his fourth of the year, powered by Marcus Foligno and Matt Dumba. The Avalanche took the lead back with an Erik Johnson goal, assisted by MacKinnon and Landeskog. Colorado added on with a Nazem Kadri power play goal in the third period, his third of the season, with assists provided by Landeskog and J.T. Compher. The Avalanche iced it at 4-1 with an empty net goal by Landeskog, his second of the game and fourth of the year, set up by Compher and Johnson. The three stars were awarded to Landeskog, Johnson, and MacKinnon, while Compher gets an honorable mention.

Up in Calgary, the Flames bring in the Philadelphia Flyers. Carter Hart and Jacob Markstrom receive the starting nods in goal. Calgary cracked the scoresheet in the second period with a Sean Monahan power play goal, powered by Rasmus Andersson and Elias Lindholm. The Flames added on in the third period with a Matthew Tkachuk power play goal, his third of the season, with assists provided by Lindholm and Monahan. Calgary extended the lead as Mikael Backlund scored an empty net goal, his second of the year, set up by Tyler Pitlick and Andersson. The Flames iced it at 4-0 with a Johnny Gaudreau goal, his second of the season, coming off of Christopher Tanev. The three stars were Markstrom (20 save shutout), Monahan, and Lindholm, while Andersson gets the honorable mention.

Finally, the Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers. Mikko Koskinen and Thatcher Demko draw the starts in goal. Edmonton was first to score in the first period with a Warren Foegele power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard. The Oilers added on in the second period with a Leon Draisaitl power play goal, his fifth of the year, with assists provided by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Connor McDavid. The Detroit Red Wings hosting the Florida Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky and Alex Nedeljkovic are the goalies. Florida began in the first period with an Eetu Luostarinen goal, his second of the season, via Markus Nutivaara and Brandon Montour. The Panthers added on with an Aleksander Barkov goal, his third of the year, coming off of Anthony Duclair. Detroit got on the board in the second period with a Sam Gagner goal, his second of the season, passed from Troy Stecher and Mitchell Stephens. The Red Wings tied it in the third period with a Pius Suter goal, helped along by Moritz Seider and Robby Fabbri. Florida won 3-2 in overtime with a Barkov goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, assisted by Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar. The three stars were Barkov, Bobrovsky (28 for 30) in saves), and Luostarinen. 

Down in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Chicago Blackhawks. Kevin Lankinen and Antti Raanta are the Finnish goalies. Chicago led off in the first period with a Brandon Hagel goal, fueled by Jonathan Toews and Erik Gustafsson. Carolina tied it on a Tony DeAngelo goal, his second of the season, made possible by Vincent Trocheck. The Blackhawks retook the lead with an Adam Gaudette power play goal, powered by Philipp Kurashev and Gustafsson. The Hurricanes tied it again with a Jordan Staal goal, his second of the year, passed from Ethan Bear and Jaccob Slavin. Carolina pulled ahead with a Derek Stepan goal, assisted by Jesper Fast. The Hurricanes added on with a Jesperi Kotkaniemi goal, his second of the season, courtesy of Sebastian Aho and Ian Cole. Carolina extended the lead in the second period as Aho scored his fifth of the year on the power play, thanks to DeAngelo and Teuvo Teravainen. The Hurricanes padded the lead on an Andrei Svechnikov goal, his seventh of the season, helped along by DeAngelo and Trocheck. Chicago got one back in the third period with an Alex DeBrincat power play goal, his fourth of the year, with assists provided by Seth Jones and Dominik Kubalik. Back north to New York, as the Rangers bring in the Columbus Blue Jackets. Elvis Merzlikins and Igor Shesterkin are in the blue paint. New York opened in the first period with a Ryan Strome goal, via Artemi Panarin and Nils Lundkvist. The Rangers added on with an Alexis Lafreniere goal, his third of the season, with a lone assist by Adam Fox. New York extended the lead in the third period on a Chris Kreider power play goal, his fifth of the year, powered by Panarin and Fox. The Rangers padded the lead on another Kreider power play goal, his second of the game and sixth of the campaign, with assists provided by Fox and Panarin. The final held at 4-0, with the three stars being Shesterkin (31 save shutout), Kreider, and Panarin, while Fox gets an honorable mention. 

To DC, as the Washington Capitals host the Arizona Coyotes. Karel Vejmelka is mismatched with Ilya Samsonov in goal. Washington dented the scoreboard in the third period with a John Carlson power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin. The Capitals iced it at 2-0 with an Ovechkin empty net goal, his ninth of the year, set up by Kuznetsov and Carlson. The three stars were awarded to Samsonov (16 save shutout), Carlson, and Ovechkin, while Kuznetsov gets an honorable mention.

Out west, the Vegas Golden Knights welcome the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Robin Lehner draw the starts in goal. Vegas started in the first period with a Reilly Smith goal, his second of the season, fueled by William Karlsson and Alec Martinez. The Golden Knights added on in the second period with a Nicolas Hague goal, his second of the year, via Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Pietrangelo. Anaheim got on the board with a Trevor Zegras goal, his second of the season, assisted by Sonny Milano and Adam Henrique. Vegas replied in the third period with a Chandler Stephenson goal, his fourth of the year, guided in by Marchessault and Hague. The Golden Knights extended the lead as William Carrier scored, thanks to Stephenson. The Ducks got one back with a Troy Terry goal, his fourth of the season, passed from Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Ryan Getzlaf. Anaheim got closer on an Isac Lundestrom goal, coming off of Hampus Lindholm and Jakob Silfverberg. The Ducks tied it as Henrique scored his third of the year, with the help of Kevin Shattenkirk and Zegras. The tie went to a shootout, where Nicolas Roy and Evgenii Dadonov lifted the Golden Knights 5-4 over Zegras and the Ducks. The three stars were Stephenson, Hague, and Zegras, while Henrique and Marchessualt get the honorable mentions. 

Finally, the Dallas Stars bring in the Ottawa Senators. Filip Gustavsson and Braden Holtby are between the pipes. Ottawa struck first in the first period with an unassisted Josh Norris power play goal, his fourth of the season. The Senators added on with a Brady Tkachuk goal, going in unassisted. Ottawa extended the lead as Norris scored his second of the game and fifth of the year, thanks to Drake Batherson and Artem Zub. Dallas got on the board with a Joe Pavelski power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Alexander Radulov and Jason Robertson. The Senators replied in the third period with a Connor Brown goal, via Victor Mete and Tim Stutzle. This made it 4-1, the final, with the three stars given to Norris, Gustavsson (38 for 39 in saves), and Tkachuk.

Carolina opened in the first period with a Tony DeAngelo goal, fueled by Brady Skjei and Vincent Trocheck. The Hurricanes added on in the second period with a Nino Niederreiter power play goal, his third of the season, powered by Brett Pesce and the goalie Andersen. Carolina iced it at 3-0 in the third period with an Andrei Svechnikov empty net goal, his sixth of the year, set up by Teuvo Teravainen. The three stars were Andersen (33 save shutout), DeAngelo, and Niederreiter.

Up in Pittsburgh, the Penguins welcome the Calgary Flames. Jacob Markstrom faces a lesser foe in Casey DeSmith in goal. Calgary began in the first period with a Johnny Gaudreau goal, via Matthew Tkachuk. The Flames added on in the third period with a Blake Coleman goal, his third of the season, fueled by Oliver Kylington and Mikael Backlund. Calgary extended the lead as Dillon Dube scored, thanks to Gaudreau and Kylington. The Flames padded the lead on a Milan Lucic goal, his second of the year, going in unassisted. This stood for a 4-0 win, with the three stars awarded to Markstrom (45 save shutout), Gaudreau, and Kylington.

Back south, the Tampa Bay Lightning bring in the Arizona Coyotes. Ivan Prosvetov and Andrei Vasilevskiy are the Russian goalies. Colorado added on with a Nazem Kadri goal, his second of the season, guided in by Logan O'Connor and Murray. The Blues got one back with a Brayden Schenn goal, his second of the year, helped along by Jordan Kyrou and James Neal. The Avalanche shot back with a Cale Makar goal, his second of the season, passed from Nathan MacKinnon. St. Louis pulled back with a Tarasenko goal, his fourth of the year, fueled by Robert Thomas and Ivan Barbashev. This only made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars being Compher, Makar, and Tarasenko, while Murray gets an honorable mention.

Northwest to Vancouver, as the Canucks welcome the Philadelphia Flyers. Martin Jones and Jaroslav Halak are the backups in goal. Philadelphia struck first in the first period with a Sean Couturier goal, his third of the season, coming off of Travis Konecny and Claude Giroux. Vancouver tied it on a Quinn Hughes goal, his second of the year, passed from Luke Schenn and Matthew Highmore. Philadelphia took the lead back with a James van Riemsdyk power play goal, powered by Couturier and Giroux. This stood for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Jones (27 for 28 in saves), Couturier, and Giroux.

Stateside, the Seattle Kraken bring in the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot and Philipp Grubauer guard the cages. Minnesota kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Ryan Hartman goal, his third of the season, assisted by Kirill Kaprizov and Marcus Foligno. Seattle tied it on a Haydn Fleury goal, courtesy of Jaden Schwartz and Joonas Donskoi. The Kraken took the lead in the second period with a Fleury goal, his second of the game, via Ryan Donato. NHL 2021-22 - Day 15

We've got seven games again this Tuesday, beginning with...

The New Jersey Devils hosting the Calgary Flames. Daniel Vladar and Nico Daws are the backups in goal. Calgary opened in the first period with a Milan Lucic goal, assisted by Erik Gudbranson and Oliver Kylington. The Flames added on with an Andrew Mangiapane goal, his sixth of the season, going in unassisted. Calgary extended the lead as Elias Lindholm scored a power play goal, his seventh of the year, powered by Rasmus Andersson and Johnny Gaudreau. Scott Wedgewood replaced Daws in goal. The Flames padded the lead as Mangiapane scored his second of the game and seventh of the season, thanks to Dillon Dube. New Jersey got on the board in the second period with a Pavel Zacha goal, his third of the year, an unassisted goal. Calgary shot back with a Matthew Tkachuk power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Sean Monahan and Lindholm. The Devils answered with a Dawson Mercer goal, his second of the year, passed from Dougie Hamilton and Andreas Johnsson. New Jersey got closer with a Zacha power play goal, his second of the game and fourth of the campaign, with helpers from Mercer and Hamilton. This only made it 5-3, with the three stars going to Mangiapane, Zacha, and Mercer, while Lindholm and Hamilton get the honorable mentions.

Up in Pittsburgh, the Penguins welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning. Andrei Vasilevskiy and Tristan Jarry tend the twines. Tampa Bay got going in the second period with a Brayden Point goal, his third of the season, made possible by Alex Killorn and Mikhail Sergachev. The Lightning added on with an Ondrej Palat goal, his third of the year, via Alex Barre-Boulet and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare. Tampa Bay extended the lead as Ryan McDonagh scored, thanks to Steven Stamkos and Mathieu Joseph. The Lightning padded the lead in the third period on an empty net goal by Sergachev, his second of the season, going in unassisted. Pittsburgh got on the board with a Jason Zucker power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Jake Guentzel. Tampa Bay iced it at 5-1 with a Killorn empty net goal, his fourth of the campaign, set up by Palat and McDonagh. The three stars were McDonagh, Palat, and Sergachev, while Killorn gets an honorable mention.

Out west, the Colorado Avalanche bring in the Vegas Golden Knights. Robin Lehner and Darcy Kuemper guard the cages. Vegas started in the first period with a Chandler Stephenson goal, his third of the season, assisted by Brayden McNabb and Daniil Miromanov. The Golden Knights added on with a Reilly Smith shorthanded and unassisted goal. Colorado got on the board in the second period with a Cale Makar goal, coming off of Nathan MacKinnon and Bowen Byram. Vegas iced it at 3-1 with an empty net goal in the third period from Evgenii Dadonov, set up Keegan Kolesar and Stephenson. The three stars were Lehner (26 for 27 in saves), Stephenson, and Smith.

Back east, the Nashville Predators host the San Jose Sharks. James Reimer and Juuse Saros are the goalies. Nashville led off in the first period with a Matt Duchene power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Roman Josi and Ryan Johansen. The Predators added on with a Filip Forsberg goal, his third of the year, guided in by Josi and Dante Fabbro. San Jose got on the board in the third period with a Timo Meier goal, his fourth of the season, assisted by Jonathan Dahlen and Logan Couture. Nashville iced it at 3-1 with a Mikael Granlund empty net goal, his second of the year, set up by Alexandre Carrier. The three stars were handed to Saros (28 for 29 in saves), Josi, and Forsberg.

To California, as the Anaheim Ducks welcome the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck and John Gibson protect the nets. Winnipeg dented the scoreboard in the second period with an Evgeny Svechnikov goal, coming off of Pierre-Luc Dubois and Kyle Connor. Anaheim tied it on a Sonny Milano goal, via Trevor Zegras. The Ducks took the lead in the third period with a Josh Manson goal, made possible by Isac Lundestrom and Troy Terry. The Jets tied it again with an Andrew Copp goal, his fourth of the season, assisted by Paul Stasnty and Nikolaj Ehlers. Anaheim pulled ahead with a Zegras goal, guided in by Milano. Winnipeg tied it once more with an Ehlers goal, fueled by Copp. The Jets took the lead with a Stastny goal, his third of the year, guided in by Ehlers and Neal Pionk. This stood for a 4-3 win, with the three stars going to Ehlers, Stastny, and Copp, while Zegras and Milano get the honorable mentions.

Up in Seattle, the Kraken bring in the Montreal Canadiens. Jake Allen and Philipp Grubauer are in the blue paint. Seattle began in the first period with a Jordan Eberle goal, via Alexander Wennberg and Jamie Oleksiak. Montreal tied it on a Mike Hoffman goal, his second of the season, courtesy of Nick Suzuki and Brendan Gallagher. The Kraken took the lead with a Brandon Tanev shorthanded goal, his fourth of the year, set up by Oleksiak and Jared McCann. Seattle added on in the second period with a Yanni Gourde goal, made possible by Jaden Schwartz and Jeremy Lauzon. The Kraken extended the lead as Tanev scored his second of the game and fifth of the season, thanks to Gourde and Mark Giordano. Seattle padded the lead in the third period with a Ryan Donato goal, his second of the year, going in unassisted. This stood for a 5-1 win, with the three stars going to Tanev, Gourde, and Oleksiak.

Finally, the Vancouver Canucks host the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot and Thatcher Demko are the masked men. Minnesota struck first in the first period with a Mats Zuccarello goal, his third of the season, coming off of Joel Eriksson Ek and Dmitry Kulikov. The Wild added on in the second period with a Jonas Brodin goal, going in unassisted. Vancouver got on the board with an Alex Chiasson power play goal, his second of the year, powered by Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes. Minnesota answered in the third period with a Matt Dumba goal, courtesy of Rem Pitlick and Brandon Duhaime. The Canucks got one back with a Bo Horvat goal, his fourth of the season, made possible by Tyler Myers. This only made it 3-2, the final, with the three stars given to Dumba, Brodin, and Zuccarello.

NHL 2021-22 - Day 14

Seven games on for a Monday slate. First up...

The Buffalo Sabres host the Tampa Bay Lightning. Brian Elliott and Craig Anderson are the veterans in goal. Buffalo led off in the first period with a Victor Olofsson goal, his third of the season, made possible by Tage Thompson and Robert Hagg. Tampa Bay tied it on an Alex Killorn goal, his third of the year, guided in by Ryan McDonagh and Mathieu Joseph. The Sabres took the lead in the second period with a Drake Caggiula goal, going in unassisted. Buffalo added on in the third period with an unassisted Vinnie Hinostroza goal. The Sabres extended the lead as Hagg scored an empty net goal, thanks to Zemgus Girgensons. Buffalo iced it at 5-1 with an Olofsson empty net goal, his second of the game and fourth of the campaign, set up by Rasmus Asplund and Thompson. The three stars were Olofsson, Anderson (35 for 36 in saves), and Hagg, while Thompson gets an honorable mention. 

Down in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack Campbell and Frederik Andersen are the former teammates in goal. Toronto began in the first period with an Auston Matthews goal, via Michael Bunting. Carolina tied it on a Sebastian Aho goal, his fourth of the season, made possible by Ethan Bear and Andrei Svechnikov. The Hurricanes took the lead with a Steven Lorentz goal, coming off of Jordan Martinook. Carolina added on with a Nino Niederreiter goal, his second of the year, guided in by Jaccob Slavin. The Hurricanes finished it at 4-1 with a Svechnikov empty net goal in the third period, his fifth of the campaign, set up by Slavin. The three stars went to Andersen (24 for 25 in saves), Svechnikov, and Slavin.

Back north, the New York Rangers bring in the Calgary Flames. Jacob Markstrom and Igor Shesterkin guard the cages. Calgary opened in the first period with a Christopher Tanev goal, assisted by Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm. The Flames added on in the second period with an Andrew Mangiapane goal, his fourth of the season, going in unassisted. New York got on the board in the third period with a Dryden Hunt goal, via Jacob Trouba and K'Andre Miller. Calgary shot back with a Blake Coleman goal, his second of the year, helped along by Mikael Backlund and Tyler Pitlick. The Flames extended the lead as Backlund scored, thanks to Coleman and Noah Hanifin. Calgary iced it at 5-1 with a Mangiapane power play goal, his second of the game and fifth of the campaign, powered by Rasmus Andersson and Dillon Dube. The three stars belonged to Mangiapane, Coleman, and Backlund.

In Canada, the Ottawa Senators host the Washington Capitals. Ilya Samsonov and Anton Forsberg receive the starting nods in goal. Ottawa started in the first period with an unassisted Drake Batherson goal, his second of the season. Washington tied it on a T.J. Oshie goal, his second of the year, guided in by Trevor van Riemsdyk. The Capitals took the lead on another Oshie goal, his second of the game and third of the season, fueled by Anthony Mantha and Connor McMichael. Washington added on with a Nick Jensen goal, his second of the year, coming off of Dmitry Orlov and Conor Sheary. The Capitals extended the lead as John Carlson scored, thanks to Lars Eller and Martin Fehervary. Filip Gustavsson replaced Forsberg in goal. The Senators got one back in the second period with a Josh Norris goal, his third of the season, helped along by Artem Zub and Batherson. Ottawa got closer with a Chris Tierney power play goal, his fourth of the year, powered by Tyler Ennis and Thomas Chabot. The Senators tied it on another Batherson goal, his second of the game and third of the season, courtesy of Brady Tkachuk. Washington retook the lead with an Alex Ovechkin goal, his sixth of the year, going in unassisted. The Capitals padded the lead when Oshie completed his hat trick on his fourth of the season, with a helper from McMichael. Ottawa pulled one back in the third period when Batherson completed his hat trick on his fourth of the year, with the help of Norris and Chabot. Washington capped it at 7-5 with another Ovechkin goal, his second of the game and seventh of the campaign, with a lone assist by Tom Wilson. The three stars went to Oshie, Batherson, and Ovechkin, while Norris, McMichael, and Chabot get the honorable mentions.

Way south to Florida, as the Panthers welcome the Arizona Coyotes. Carter Hutton is mismatched with Spencer Knight in goal. Arizona struck first in the first period with a Clayton Keller goal, his third of the season, made possible by Nick Schmaltz. Florida tied it on a Joe Thornton power play goal, powered by Sam Reinhart and Brandon Montour. Karel Vejmelka relieved an injured Hutton in the second period. The Panthers took the lead in the second period with a Frank Vatrano goal, via Montour and Patric Hornqvist. Florida added on with an Aaron Ekblad power play goal, his third of the year, assisted by Jonathan Huberdeau and Sam Bennett. The Panthers extended the lead in the third period as Huberdeau scored his third of the season, thanks to Bennett and Owen Tippett. The Coyotes got one back with a Liam O'Brien goal, passed from Christian Fischer and Anton Stralman. Arizona got closer with a Phil Kessel goal, coming off of Ilya Lyubushkin and Johan Larsson. Florida iced it at 5-3 with an Anthony Duclair empty net goal, his fourth of the year, set up by MacKenzie Weegar and Aleksander Barkov. The three stars were Huberdeau, Bennett, and Montour.

Along to Columbus, as the Blue Jackets bring in the Dallas Stars. Braden Holtby and Elvis Merzlikins man the nets. Columbus kicked off the scoring in the first period with an Oliver Bjorkstrand goal, his third of the season, helped along by Jack Roslovic and Gregory Hofmann. The Blue Jackets added on in the second period with a Hofmann goal, fueled by Bjorkstrand. Columbus extended the lead in the third period as Zach Werenski scored his second of the year, thanks to Sean Kuraly and Eric Robinson. Dallas got on the board with a Tyler Seguin goal, his second of the season, via Esa Lindell and Ryan Suter. The Blue Jackets iced it at 4-1 with an Alexandre Texier empty net goal, his second of the year, set up by Werenski. The three stars were handed to Bjorkstrand, Hofmann, and Werenski.

Finally, the St. Louis Blues host the Los Angeles Kings. Jonathan Quick and Ville Husso are the backups in goal. St. Louis dented the scoreboard in the third period with a Vladimir Tarasenko goal, his second of the season, assisted by Torey Krug and Robert Thomas. The Blues added on with another Tarasenko goal, his second of the game and third of the year, with a lone helper by Ivan Barbashev. St. Louis iced it at 3-0 with a David Perron empty net goal, his sixth of the campaign, set up by Ryan O'Reilly and Marco Scandella. The three stars were awarded to Husso (34 save shutout), Tarasenko, and Perron.

NHL 2021-22 - Day 13

There's four games spread throughout Sunday. First up...

The Boston Bruins host the San Jose Sharks. Adin Hill and Linus Ullmark are the goalies. Boston led off in the first period with a Brad Marchand goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak. The Bruins added on with a Derek Forbort goal, via Marchand and Connor Clifton. Boston extended the lead on a Pastrnak power play goal, his second of the year, powered by Bergeron. San Jose got on the board with a Jasper Weatherby goal, his second of the season, courtesy of Jonah Gadjovich and Andrew Cogliano. The Bruins replied in the second period with a Jake DeBrusk goal, his second of the year, assisted by Oskar Steen and Forbort. James Reimer replaced Hill in goal. The Sharks got one back in the third period with a Tomas Hertl goal, his second of the season, made possible by Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Alexander Barabanov. San Jose got closer with a Timo Meier goal, his third of the year, guided in by Logan Couture and Brent Burns. This only made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars going to Marchand, Pastrnak, and Forbort, while Bergeron gets an honorable mention. 

Over in Minnesota, the Wild welcome the Nashville Predators. Connor Ingram and Kaapo Kahkonen are the backups in goal. Nashville began in the first period with a Roman Josi power play goal, his third of the season, powered by Matt Duchene and Mikael Granlund. The Predators added on with a Ryan Johansen power play goal, his second of the year, with assists provided by Filip Forsberg and Josi. Nashville extended the lead as Johansen scored his second of the game and third of the season, thanks to Josi and Duchene. Minnesota got on the board in the second period with a Nick Bjugstad goal, via Jon Merrill. The Predators replied with a Forsberg goal, his second of the year, assisted by Josi and Duchene. Nashville padded the lead on a Tanner Jeannot goal, his second of the season, coming off of Yakov Trenin and Colton Sissons. The Wild pulled one back on a Nico Sturm goal, helped along by Brandon Duhaime. That was it for the scoring in the 5-2 game, with the three stars given to Josi, Johansen, and Duchene, while Forsberg gets an honorable mention.

In Chicago, the Blackhawks bring in the Detroit Red Wings. Alex Nedeljkovic and Marc-Andre Fleury are in the blue paint. Detroit started in the first period with a Lucas Raymond goal, his second of the season, assisted by Tyler Bertuzzi. Chicago tied it on a Tyler Johnson goal, fueled by Jonathan Toews and Jake McCabe. The Red Wings retook the lead in the second period with a Carter Rowney goal, coming off of Michael Rasmussen and Mitchell Stephens. Detroit added on with a Vladislav Namestnikov goal, his third of the year, helped along by Stephens and Filip Zadina. The Red Wings extended the lead as Bertuzzi scored his sixth of the season, thanks to Dylan Larkin and Raymond. The Blackhawks got one back with a Dominik Kubalik power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Seth Jones and Toews. Detroit answered on a Raymond goal, his second of the game and third of the season, made possible by Larkin and Bertuzzi. Chicago shot back in the third period with a Henrik Borgstrom goal, courtesy of Dylan Strome and Adam Gaudette. The Red Wings countered on a Raymond power play goal to complete his hat trick on his fourth of the year, with helpers from Larkin and Moritz Seider. This stood for a 6-3 win, with the three stars going to Raymond, Bertuzzi, and Larkin, while Stephens and Toews receive the honorable mentions. 

Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights host the New York Islanders. Ilya Sorokin and Robin Lehner are the masked men. New York opened in the first period with a Josh Bailey goal, via Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The Islanders added on in the third period with a Mathew Barzal goal, his third of the season, courtesy of Bailey. This held for a 2-0 win, with the three stars going to Sorokin (42 save shutout), Bailey, and Barzal.
