New Jersey added on in the second period with an unassisted Dawson Mercer goal, his tenth of the year. The Devils extended the lead as Tyler Toffoli scored his fifteenth of the season, thanks to Bratt and Jack Hughes. New Jersey padded the lead in the third period with a Brendan Smith goal, helped along by Nico Hischier and Bratt. The Senators got one back with a Jacob Bernard-Docker goal, his third of the year, with helpers from Erik Brannstrom and Angus Crookshank.
