A big thirteen games on the docket today, beginning with...

The New Jersey Devils hosting the Boston Bruins for a matinee. Jeremy Swayman and Jonathan Bernier are the goalies. Boston led off in the first period with an Erik Haula goal, via Anton Blidh and Karson Kuhlman. The Bruins added on with a Brad Marchand power play goal in the second period, his seventh of the season, powered by Charlie McAvoy and Patrice Bergeron. New Jersey got on the board with a Dawson Mercer goal, his fifth of the year, fueled by Andreas Johnsson and Jesper Bratt. Boston shot back with a Marchand goal, his second of the game and eighth of the season, assisted by David Pastrnak and McAvoy. The Devils got one back with a Bratt goal, his third of the year, helped along by Mercer. The Bruins answered in the third period on a Bergeron goal, his sixth of the season, guided in by Pastrnak and McAvoy. Boston iced it at 5-2 with a Jake DeBrusk empty net goal, his third of the year, going in unassisted. The three stars were Marchand, McAvoy, and Bergeron, while Mercer, Pastrnak, and Bratt get the honorable mentions. 

Over to Detroit, as the Red Wings welcome the Montreal Canadiens. Jake Allen and Alex Nedeljkovic are in the creases. Montreal began in the first period with a Ryan Poehling goal, assisted by Michael Pezzetta and Chris Wideman. Sam Montembeault replaced an injured Allen late in the first period. Detroit tied it in the second period with a Dylan Larkin goal, his fifth of the season, coming off of Filip Hronek and Tyler Bertuzzi. The Red Wings took the lead with a Pius Suter goal, his fourth of the year, guided in by Robby Fabbri and Moritz Seider. The Canadiens tied it in the third period with a Wideman goal, his second of the season, helped along by Artturi Lehkonen and Joel Armia. Detroit won 3-2 in overtime with a Larkin goal, his second of the game and sixth of the year, courtesy of Lucas Raymond. The three stars went to Larkin, Wideman, and Suter. 

Down in Tampa Bay, the Lightning bring in the Florida Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky and Andrei Vasilevskiy are the Russian goalies. Tampa Bay opened in the first period with a Pat Maroon power play goal, his second of the season, powered by Ross Colton and Alex Killorn. The Lightning added on in the second period with a Victor Hedman goal, his second of the year, via Boris Katchouk and Zach Bogosian. Florida got on the board with a Jonathan Huberdeau goal, his fourth of the season, courtesy of Aleksander Barkov and Lucas Carlsson. The Panthers tied it on an Eetu Luostarinen goal, his fifth of the year, helped along by Aaron Ekblad and Ryan Lomberg. Tampa Bay won 3-2 in overtime with a Brayden Point goal, his fifth of the campaign, with a lone helper by Ondrej Palat. The three stars were handed to Point, Hedman, and Maroon. 

Way north to Winnipeg, as the Jets host the Los Angeles Kings. Calvin Petersen and Connor Hellebuyck are the masked men. Winnipeg started in the first period with a Kyle Connor goal, his eleventh of the season, made possible by Logan Stanley and Pierre-Luc Dubois. Los Angeles tied it on a Carl Grundstrom goal, his third of the year, passed from Trevor Moore. The Kings took the lead in the second period with a Brendan Lemieux goal, his second of the season, coming off of Blake Lizotte and Olli Maatta. The Jets tied it again in the third period on a Dylan DeMelo shorthanded goal, set up by Andrew Copp and Stanley. Winnipeg won 3-2 in overtime with a Mark Scheifele goal, assisted by Nikolaj Ehlers. The three stars belonged to Stanley, Scheifele, and DeMelo. 

Back stateside, the Buffalo Sabres welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs. Joseph Woll and Aaron Dell are the backups in goal. Toronto struck first in the first period with a David Kampf goal, his second of the season, assisted by Alexander Kerfoot and Pierre Engvall. Buffalo tied it on a Jeff Skinner goal, his fourth of the year, guided in by Colin Miller and Kyle Okposo. The Maple Leafs took the lead with an Ondrej Kase goal in the second period, his fourth of the season, made possible by John Tavares and Auston Matthews. Toronto added on with a Michael Bunting goal, his fourth of the year, fueled by Jake Muzzin and Jason Spezza. The Sabres got one back with a Tage Thompson goal, his fifth of the season, helped along by Skinner. The Maple Leafs countered in the third period with a Tavares power play goal, his eighth of the year, powered by Morgan Rielly and Mitchell Marner. Buffalo pulled back with another Skinner goal, his second of the game and fifth of the season, with a lone helper from Thompson. The Sabres tied it on a Rasmus Dahling goal, his second of the year, via Arttu Ruotsalainen and Okposo. Toronto won 5-4 with a Rielly goal, set up by Kerfoot. The three stars went to Rielly, Skinner, and Tavares, while Kerfoot, Thompson, and Okposo get the honorable mentions. 

In Canada again, the Ottawa Senators bring in the Pittsburgh Penguins. Casey DeSmith and Filip Gustavsson are in the creases. Ottawa got going in the second period with a Zach Sanford goal, his second of the season, coming off of Jacob Bernard-Docker and Thomas Chabot. The Senators added on with a Michael Del Zotto power play goal, powered by Drake Batherson and Chris Tierney. Ottawa extended the lead as Parker Kelly scored, thanks to Logan Shaw and Lassi Thomson. The Senators padded the lead on a Tim Stutzle power play goal, with assists provided by Batherson and Chabot. Ottawa continued in the third period with a Batherson goal, his sixth of the year, guided in by Tyler Ennis and Del Zotto. Pittsburgh got on the board with a Kasperi Kapanen goal, his fourth of the season, assisted by Mark Friedman and Evan Rodrigues. The Penguins got closer with a Rodrigues goal, his fifth of the year, with a lone helper from Kapanen. Pittsburgh pulled closer on another Rodrigues goal, his second of the game and sixth of the season, helped along by Kris Letang and Jake Guentzel. The Senators iced it at 6-3 with a Batherson empty net goal, his second of the game and seventh of the year, set up by Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris. The three stars were given to Batherson, Del Zotto, and Rodrigues, while Chabot and Kapanen get the honorable mentions. 

South to Columbus, as the Blue Jackets host the New York Rangers. Igor Shesterkin and Elvis Merzlikins man the nets. Columbus kicked off the scoring in the first period with a Jakub Voracek power play goal, powered by Oliver Bjorkstrand and Cole Sillinger. New York tied it on an Artemi Panarin goal, his third of the season, assisted by Adam Fox and Ryan Strome. The Blue Jackets retook the lead in the second period with an Eric Robinson goal, his second of the year, fueled by Jake Bean and Zach Werenski. The Rangers tied it again with a Chris Kreider goal, his tenth of the season, guided in by Jacob Trouba. New York pulled ahead with a Panarin goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, via Strome. The Rangers added on with a Trouba goal, made possible by Barclay Goodrow and Julien Gauthier. New York extended the lead in the third period as Kreider scored his second of the game and eleventh of the season on the power play, thanks to Mika Zibanejad and Fox. Columbus got one back with an Alexandre Texier goal, his fourth of the year, passed from Vladislav Gavrikov and Gavin Bayreuther. This only made it 5-3, the final, with the three stars handed to Panarin, Kreider, and Trouba, while Fox and Strome get the honorable mentions. 

Over in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the St. Louis Blues. Joel Hofer and Alex Lyon are the third-string goalies. Carolina was first to score in the first period with a Brady Skjei goal, via Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. The Hurricanes added on in the second period with an Aho power play goal, his sixth of the season, powered by Tony DeAngelo and Svechnikov. St. Louis got on the board with a Pavel Buchnevich power play goal, his fourth of the year, with assists provided by Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou. The Blues tied it in the third period with a Vladimir Tarasenko goal, his sixth of the campaign, helped along by Ivan Barbashev and Thomas. Carolina won 3-2 with a Brendan Smith goal, fueled by DeAngelo and Jordan Martinook. The three stars were Aho, DeAngelo, and Svechnikov, while Thomas gets an honorable mention. 

Backtracking to Nashville, where the Predators bring in the Arizona Coyotes. Karel Vejmelka and Juuse Saros are set to start in goal. Nashville drew first blood in the first period with a Matt Duchene goal, his ninth of the season, helped along by Roman Josi. The Predators added on with a Josi a power play goal, his fifth of the year, powered by Eeli Tolvanen and Duchene. Nashville extended the lead in the second period as Mikael Granlund scored his third of the season, thanks to Tolvanen and Josi. The Predators padded the lead on a Josi goal, his second of the game and sixth of the year, going in unassisted in the third period. Arizona got on the board with a Jakob Chychrun power play goal, with assists provided by Phil Kessel and Shayne Gostisbehere. This only made it 4-1, the final, with the three stars given to Josi, Duchene, and Tolvanen. 

Down in Dallas, the Stars host the Philadelphia Flyers. Martin Jones and Anton Khudobin are the veterans in goal. Dallas led off in the first period with a Luke Glendening goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of John Klingberg and Ryan Suter. The Stars added on in the second period with a Roope Hintz goal, his second of the year, via Denis Gurianov and Jason Robertson. Philadelphia got on the board with an unassisted James van Riemsdyk goal, his second of the season. Dallas shot back with a Tyler Seguin goal, his fifth of the year, passed from Jacob Peterson and Andrej Sekera. The Stars extended the lead in the third period with a Joe Pavelski power play goal, his fourth of the season, powered by Hintz and Alexander Radulov. The Flyers pulled back on an Ivan Provorov power play goal, with assists provided by Kevin Hayes and Ryan Ellis. Dallas iced it at 5-2 with a Radek Faksa empty net goal, his second of the year, set up by Glendening. The three stars were Hintz, Glendening, and Seguin. 

Along to Colorado, as the Avalanche welcome the San Jose Sharks. Adin Hill and Darcy Kuemper are between the pipes. San Jose began in the first period with a Logan Couture goal, his sixth of the season, assisted by Mario Ferraro and Timo Meier. Colorado tied it on a Devon Toews power play goal, his second of the year, powered by Samuel Girard and Nazem Kadri. The Avalanche took the lead with a Kadri goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of Valeri Nichushkin and Jack Johnson. Colorado added on in the second period with an Alex Newhook goal, guided in by Girard and Jayson Megna. The Avalanche extended the lead on a shorthanded Logan O'Connor goal, his third of the year, set up by Darren Helm and Erik Johnson. The Sharks got one back in the third period with an Alexander Barabanov power play goal, his second of the season, with assists provided by Tomas Hertl and Erik Karlsson. Colorado replied with an Andre Burakovsky goal, his fourth of the year, helped along by Gabriel Landeskog and Girard. The Avalanche iced it at 6-2 with a Girard empty net goal, with a helper from Kadri. The three stars went to Girard, Kadri, and Newhook.

Next up, the Vegas Golden Knights bring in the Vancouver Canucks. Thatcher Demko and Robin Lehner tend the twines. Vancouver opened in the first period with a J.T. Miller goal, his seventh of the season, courtesy of Nils Hoglander. The Canucks added on with a Tanner Pearson goal, his second of the year, via Conor Garland and Brad Hunt. Vegas got on the board with an Evgenii Dadonov power play goal, his fourth of the season, powered by Chandler Stephenson and Shea Theodore. The Golden Knights tied it in the second period with a Reilly Smith goal, his fifth of the year, coming off of Jake Leschyshyn and Alex Pietrangelo. Vegas took the lead with a Brayden McNabb goal, his second of the season, helped along by Theodore. Vancouver tied it on a Hoglander goal, his third of the year, going in unassisted. The Golden Knights retook the lead in the third period with a Leschyshyn goal, with helpers from Dadonov and Keegan Kolesar. The Canucks retied it with a Hoglander goal, his second of the game and fourth of the season, made possible by Tyler Myers and Quinn Hughes. Vegas reclaimed the lead again with a Jonathan Marchessault power play goal, his eighth of the year, with assists provided by Pietrangelo and Dylan Coghlan. The Golden Knights extended the lead as Dadonov scored his second of the game and fifth of the season, thanks to Mark Stone. Vegas padded the lead as Marchessault scored his second of the game and ninth of the year, with the help of Smith and Stephenson. This made it 7-4, the final, with the three stars awarded to Marchessault, Leschyshyn, and
Dadonov, while Smith, Stephenson, Pietrangelo, Theodore, and Hoglander get the honorable mentions.

Finally, the Seattle Kraken host the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot and Philipp Grubauer protect the nets. Minnesota started in the first period with a Rem Pitlick goal, via Ryan Hartman and Alex Goligoski. The Wild added on with another Pitlick goal in the second period, coming off of Hartman. Minnesota extended the lead as Pitlick completed his natural hat trick, thanks to Hartman. Seattle got on the board in the third period with a Marcus Johansson power play goal, powered by Alex Wennberg and Jordan Eberle. The Wild countered with a Nico Sturm empty net goal, his third of the season, set up by Marcus Foligno. The Kraken got one back on a Wennberg goal, his second of the year, with helpers from Jaden Schwartz and Johansson. This made it 4-2, the final, with the three stars being Pitlick, Hartman, and Johansson, while Wennberg gets an honorable mention.

NHL 2021-22 - Day 32

Five games on tonight, beginning with...

The Buffalo Sabres hosting the Edmonton Oilers. Stuart Skinner and Dustin Tokarski are the lesser-known goalies. Buffalo got going in the second period with an Anders Bjork goal, his third of the season, going in unassisted. Edmonton tied it on a Leon Draisaitl power play goal, his thirteenth of the year, powered by Jesse Puljujarvi and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The Oilers took the lead on a Draisaitl power play goal, his second of the game and fourteenth of the season, with assists provided by Connor McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins. The Sabres retied it on a Dylan Cozens goal, his second of the year, guided in by Drake Caggiula. Buffalo pulled ahead with another Cozens goal, his second of the game and third of the campaign, helped along by Vinnie Hinostroza and Mark Pysyk. This was it for the scoring in the 3-2 game, with the three stars being Cozens, Draisaitl, and Nugent-Hopkins.

Down in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Philadelphia Flyers. Carter Hart and Frederik Andersen guard the cages. Carolina dented the scoreboard in the second period with a Steven Lorentz goal, his second of the season, coming off of Jesper Fast and Jordan Staal. Philadelphia tied it in the third period with a Joel Farabee goal, his fourth of the year, via Scott Laughton and Rasmus Ristolainen. The Flyers took the lead with a Zack MacEwen goal, courtesy of Justin Braun and Patrick Brown. This stood for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Hart (39 for 40 in saves), MacEwen, and Farabee.

Up in Toronto, the Maple Leafs host the Calgary Flames. Dan Vladar and Jack Campbell patrol the creases. Calgary drew first blood in the third period with an Oliver Kylington goal, his second of the season, helped along by Johnny Gaudreau. Toronto tied it on an Ondrej Kase goal, his third of the year, fueled by William Nylander and Alexander Kerfoot. The Maple Leafs won 2-1 in overtime with an Auston Matthews goal, his sixth of the campaign, set up by Nylander. The three stars were Nylander, Matthews, and Campbell (30 for 31 in saves).

Back stateside, the Columbus Blue Jackets bring in the Washington Capitals. Ilya Samsonov and Joonas Korpisalo man the nets. Columbus struck first in the first period with a Sean Kuraly goal, via Alexandre Texier and Eric Robinson. Washington tied it on an Alex Ovechkin goal, his twelfth of the season, assisted by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson. The Capitals took the lead in the second period with a Garnet Hathaway goal, passed from Axel Jonsson-Fjallby and Lars Eller. Washington added on with another Hathaway goal, his second of the game, made possible by Eller and Ovechkin. The Blue Jackets got one back with a Kuraly goal, his second of the game, coming off of Jakub Voracek. Columbus tied it on a Gustav Nyquist goal, his second of the year, courtesy of Oliver Bjorkstrand and Boone Jenner. The Capitals retook the lead in the third period with a Conor Sheary goal, his second of the campaign, helped along by Dmitry Orlov and Nick Jensen. This made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars going to Ovechkin, Hathaway, and Kuraly, while Eller gets an honorable mention. 

Finally, the Chicago Blackhawks host the Arizona Coyotes. Scott Wedgewood and Marc-Andre Fleury are in the blue paint. Chicago cracked the scoresheet in the second period with an Alex DeBrincat goal, his eighth of the season, coming off of Patrick Kane and Riley Stillman. Arizona tied it on an Andrew Ladd power play goal in the third period, his third of the year, powered by Kyle Capobianco and Lawson Crouse. The Blackhawks retook the lead with a Dylan Strome power play goal, with assists provided by Kane and Seth Jones. This was good for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Fleury (22 for 23 in saves), Strome, and DeBrincat.

The Boston Bruins hosting the Edmonton Oilers. Mikko Koskinen and Linus Ullmark man the nets. Boston began in the first period with a David Pastrnak goal, his fourth of the season, guided in by Patrice Bergeron. Washington struck first in the first period with a Dmitry Orlov goal, his second of the season, coming off of Evgeny Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin. The Capitals added on with a Lars Eller goal, via Nick Jensen. This stuck for a 2-0 win, with the three stars awarded to Fucale (21 save shutout), Orlov, and Eller.

Down in St. Louis, the Blues host the Nashville Predators. David Rittich is mismatched with Jordan Binnington in goal. St. Louis drew first blood in the first period with a Jordan Kyrou goal, his fourth of the season, courtesy of Tyler Bozak and Calle Rosen. The Blues added on with another Kyrou power play goal, his second of the game and fifth of the year, powered by Colton Parayko and Robert Thomas. Nashville got on the board in the second period with a Matt Duchene goal, his seventh of the season, assisted by Luke Kunin and Mikael Granlund. The Predators tied it on a Kunin goal, his second of the year, coming off of Duchene and Granlund. Nashville took the lead with a Yakov Trenin goal, via Mathieu Olivier and Granlund. St. Louis retied it on a Vladimir Tarasenko goal, his fifth of the season, helped along by Thomas and Justin Faulk. Vegas extended the lead in the second period as Jonathan Marchessault scored his seventh of the season, thanks to Reilly Smith. Minnesota got on the board with a Jared Spurgeon goal, his third of the year, fueled by Kirill Kaprizov and Frederick Gaudreau. The Wild got closer with a Ryan Hartman goal, his seventh of the season, coming off of Jon Merrill and Dmitry Kulikov. This only made it 3-2, the final, with the three stars given to Rondbjerg, Marchessault, and Cotter.

Finally, the Seattle Kraken host the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Philipp Grubauer tend the twines. Anaheim began in the first period with a Mason McTavish goal, his second of the season, going in unassisted. The Ducks added on in the second period with a Troy Terry goal, his tenth of the year, via Jamie Drysdale. Seattle got on the board with a Jaden Schwartz goal, his third of the season, coming off of Jordan Eberle and Vince Dunn. Anaheim replied with a Josh Mahura goal, courtesy of Derek Grant. The Kraken replied with a Jared McCann goal, his fourth of the year, helped along by Ryan Donato and Riley Sheahan. The Ducks shot back on a Kevin Shattenkirk goal, his fourth of the season, assisted by Terry and Ryan Getzlaf. Seattle replied with an Eberle goal, his eighth of the year, made possible by Alex Wennberg and Schwartz. Anaheim countered with a Hampus Lindholm goal, coming off of Adam Henrique. The Kraken pulled back with McCann's second goal of the game and fifth of the season, fueled by Donato. The Ducks fired back with a Sam Carrick empty net goal, his fourth of the year, set up by Getzlaf and Josh Manson. Anaheim iced it at 7-4 with a Terry empty net goal, his second of the game and eleventh of the campaign, an unassisted goal. The three stars belonged to Terry, McCann, and Getzlaf, while Eberle, Schwartz and Donato get the honorable mentions.

NHL 2021-22 - Day 30

We've got three games on today, beginning with...

The Philadelphia Flyers hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack Campbell and Carter Hart man the nets. Toronto got going in the second period with a William Nylander goal, his sixth of the season, made possible by Jake Muzzin and Auston Matthews. The Maple Leafs added on in third period with another Nylander goal, his second of the game and seventh of the year, powered by Nick Ritchie and Matthews on the power play. Toronto extended the lead as Ondrej Kase scored his second of the season, thanks to Alexander Kerfoot and David Kampf. The final held at 3-0, with the three stars going to Campbell (36 save shutout), Nylander, and Matthews.

Down in Dallas, the Stars welcome the Nashville Predators. Juuse Saros and Braden Holtby guard the cages. Nashville led off in the first period with a Ryan Johansen goal, his fifth of the season, via Tanner Jeannot and Yakov Trenin. The Predators added on in the second period with a Jeannot goal, his fifth of the year, guided in by Philip Tomasino and Mattias Ekholm. Nashville extended the lead as Matt Duchene scored his sixth of the season, thanks to Thomas Novak and Matt Benning. Dallas got on the board with a Roope Hintz goal, coming off of Joe Pavelski and Jason Robertson. The Stars got closer in the third period with a Miro Heiskanen goal, his third of the year, powered by Alexander Radulov and Jamie Benn. The Predators iced it at 4-2 with a Colton Sissons empty net goal, his second of the campaign, set up by Mikael Granlund. The three stars were Jeannot, Duchene, and Saros (25 for 27 in saves).

Finally, the Arizona Coyotes bring in the Minnesota Wild. Kaapo Kahkonen and Karel Vejmelka are the lesser-known goalies. Minnesota began in the first period with a Joel Eriksson Ek power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by Jared Spurgeon and Mats Zuccarello. The Wild added on with a Marcus Foligno goal, his fifth of the year, guided in by Jon Merrill and Kevin Fiala. Arizona got on the board with an Andrew Ladd goal, his second of the season, coming off of Dmitrij Jaskin and Shayne Gostisbehere. Minnesota replied in the second period with a Fiala goal, his second of the year, via Spurgeon and Alex Goligoski. The Wild extended the lead as Dmitry Kulikov scored, thanks to Rem Pitlick and Merrill. Minnesota padded the lead on a Kirill Kaprizov power play goal, his third of the season, with assists provided by Zuccarello and Fiala. Scott Wedgewood replaced Vejmelka in goal in the third period. The Coyotes got one back with a Gostisbehere goal, his second of the year, helped along by Clayton Keller and Travis Boyd. This stood for a 5-2 final, with the three stars going to Fiala, Gostisbehere, and Zuccarello, while Spurgeon and Merrill get the honorable mentions.

We're ready for ten games on a Tuesday, beginning with...

The Boston Bruins hosting the Ottawa Senators. Matt Murray and Jeremy Swayman are the goalies. Ottawa began in the first period with a Zach Sanford goal, assisted by Brady Tkachuk. Boston tied it in the second period with a Brad Marchand power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy. The Bruins took the lead on a Derek Forbort goal, his second of the year, guided in by Charlie Coyle and Taylor Hall. The Senators retied it on a Nikita Zaitsev goal, coming off of Tyler Ennis and Thomas Chabot. Boston retook the lead with a Patrice Bergeron goal, his fifth of the season, helped along by Pastrnak and McAvoy. This held for a 3-2 win, with the three stars going to Pastrnak, McAvoy, and Bergeron.

Over to Montreal, as the Canadiens welcome the Los Angeles Kings. Calvin Petersen and Jake Allen man the nets. Montreal opened in the first period with a Ben Chiarot goal, his third of the season, passed from Artturi Lehkonen. Los Angeles tied it in the second period with a Brendan Lemieux goal, via Tobias Bjornfot and Blake Lizotte. The Kings took the lead in the third period with an Alex Iafallo goal, his sixth of the year, going in unassisted. The Canadiens retied it with a Jake Evans goal, his second of the season, assisted by Lehkonen and Brett Kulak. Los Angeles won 3-2 in overtime with an Adrian Kempe goal, his fifth of the year, coming off of Andreas Athanasiou and Kale Clague. The three stars were Lehkonen, Kempe, and Iafallo.

Down in Tampa Bay, the Lightning bring in the Carolina Hurricanes. Frederik Andersen and Andrei Vasilevskiy tend the twines. Tampa Bay got going in the second period with a Steven Stamkos goal, his seventh of the season, assisted by Mathieu Joseph and Alex Killorn. Carolina tied it on a Teuvo Teravainen power play goal in the third period, his third of the year, powered by Vincent Trocheck and Andrei Svechnikov. The Hurricanes won 2-1 in overtime with a Martin Necas goal, his third of the campaign, coming off of Sebastian Aho and Tony DeAngelo. The three stars belonged to Necas, Teravainen, and Andersen (17 for 18 in saves).

Back north, the New Jersey Devils host the Florida Panthers. Spencer Knight and MacKenzie Blackwood are the young goalies. Florida led off in the first period with a Sam Bennett goal, his fifth of the season, coming off of Owen Tippett and Carter Verhaeghe. New Jersey tied it on an Andreas Johnsson power play goal, his fifth of the year, powered by Jesper Bratt and Damon Severson. The Panthers tied it in the second period with an Aleksander Barkov goal, his eighth of the year, courtesy of Verhaeghe and Anthony Duclair. Florida pulled ahead on a Tippett goal, his third of the season, assisted by Gustav Forsling and Jonathan Huberdeau. New Jersey retied it on a Johnsson goal, his second of the game and sixth of the year, passed from Dawson Mercer and Smith. The Devils pulled ahead again with a Subban goal, helped along by Mercer and Jonas Siegenthaler. New Jersey added on in the third period with a Pavel Zacha power play goal, his sixth of the season, with helpers from Hischier and Alexander Holtz. The Devils extended the lead as Smith scored, thanks to Tomas Tatar and Jesper Boqvist. New Jersey iced it at 7-3 with a Jimmy Vesey empty net goal, his third of the year, set up by Siegenthaler. The three stars were Johnsson, Smith, and Subban, while Hischier, Mercer, Siegenthaler, Tippett and Verhaeghe get the honorable mentions.

Over in Detroit, the Red Wings welcome the Edmonton Oilers. Stuart Skinner and Alex Nedeljkovic are between the pipes. The Red Wings added on in the second period with another Namestnikov goal, his second of the game and seventh of the year, via Michael Rasmussen and Filip Hronek. Detroit extended the lead as Dylan Larkin scored his fourth of the season, an unassisted goal. Edmonton got on the board with a Jesse Puljujarvi goal, his sixth of the year, coming off of Slater Koekkoek. The Oilers got closer in the third period with a Connor McDavid goal, his ninth of the season, passed from Darnell Nurse and Evan Bouchard. The Red Wings iced it at 4-2 with a Moritz Seider empty net goal, his second of the year, set up by Rasmussen and Nick Leddy. The three stars belonged to Namestnikov, Rasmussen, and Nedeljkovic (31 for 33 in saves).

North to Winnipeg, as the Jets bring in the St. Louis Blues. Jordan Binnington and Connor Hellebuyck guard the cages. St. Louis struck first in the first period with a Pavel Buchnevich power play goal, his third of the season, powered by Jordan Kyrou and James Neal. Winnipeg tied it in the second period with a Neal Pionk goal, his second of the year, via Dominic Toninato and Evgeny Svechnikov. The Jets took the lead in the third period with a Kyle Connor goal, his ninth of the season, coming off of Blake Wheeler and Logan Stanley. The Blues tied it on a Kyrou goal, his third of the year, guided in by Buchnevich and Calle Rosen. The tie lasted to a shootout, where Ryan O'Reilly's lone tally lifted the Blues 3-2 over the Jets. The three stars were Kyrou, Buchnevich, and Binnington (39 for 41 in saves).

To Chicago, as the Blackhawks host the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tristan Jarry and Marc-Andre Fleury are the masked men. Chicago dented the scoreboard in the second period with a Jujhar Khaira goal, via Jonathan Toews and Dominik Kubalik. The Blackhawks added on with a Seth Jones goal, courtesy of Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. Pittsburgh got on the board in the third period with a Jeff Carter goal, his second of the season, coming off of Jake Guentzel and Mark Friedman. The Penguins tied it on a Carter goal, his second of the game and third of the year, passed from Guentzel and Bryan Rust. The tie went to a shootout, where Toews and DeBrincat scored to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 win. The three stars were Carter, DeBrincat, and Toews, while Guentzel gets an honorable mention.

Moving along to Calgary, as the Flames welcome the San Jose Sharks. Adin Hill and Jacob Markstrom are in the creases. San Jose cracked the scoresheet in the second period with an Alexander Barabanov goal, assisted by Brent Burns and the goalie Hill. Calgary tied it on a Milan Lucic goal, his fifth of the season, coming off of Andrew Mangiapane and Dillon Dube. The Sharks took the lead in the third period with a Logan Couture goal, his fifth of the year, via Santeri Hatakka and Nicolas Meloche. San Jose added on with a Tomas Hertl empty net goal, his sixth of the season, set up by Burns and Hill. The Sharks iced it at 4-1 with a Jonathan Dahlen empty net goal, his sixth of the year, going in unassisted. The three stars were Hill (37 for 38 in saves, two helpers), Burns, and Couture.

In Vancouver, the Canucks bring in the Anaheim Ducks. John Gibson and Thatcher Demko patrol the creases. Anaheim drew first blood in the first period with a power play goal by Cam Fowler, his second of the season, powered by Sonny Milano and Troy Terry. The Ducks added on in the third period with an Isac Lundestrom goal, his third of the year, courtesy of Jamie Drysdale and Max Comtois. Vancouver got on the board with a J.T. Miller goal, his sixth of the season, via Quinn Hughes and Brock Boeser. The Canucks tied it on an Elias Pettersson shorthanded goal, his third of the year, set up by Hughes and Boeser. Anaheim won 3-2 in overtime with a Terry goal, his ninth of the campaign, assisted by Ryan Getzlaf and Drysdale. The three stars were Terry, Drysdale, and Hughes, while Boeser gets an honorable mention.

Finally, the Vegas Golden Knights host the Seattle Kraken. Chris Driedger and Robin Lehner draw the starts in goal. The New York Rangers hosting the Florida Panthers. Spencer Knight and Igor Shesterkin man the nets. New York began in the first period with a Chris Kreider power play goal, his ninth of the season, powered by Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin. The Rangers added on with an Adam Fox shorthanded goal, his third of the year, set up by Barclay Goodrow and Zibanejad. New York extended the lead in the second period as K'Andre Miller scored, thanks to Kreider. The Rangers padded the lead on a Ryan Strome goal, his second of the season, coming off of Panarin and Jacob Trouba. Florida got on the board in the third period with an Eetu Luostarinen goal, his fourth of the year, made possible by Patric Hornqvist and Mason Marchment. The Panthers got closer with a Sam Reinhart goal, his third of the season, courtesy of Owen Tippett and Radko Gudas. Florida chipped closer on a Hornqvist goal, his second of the year, assisted by Aleksander Barkov. This only made it 4-3, the final, with the three stars going to Kreider, Hornqvist, and Zibanejad, while Panarin gets an honorable mention. 

To DC, as the Washington Capitals welcome the Buffalo Sabres. Dustin Tokarski and Vitek Vanecek are the goalies. Washington led off in the first period with a Tom Wilson goal, his second of the season, via Alex Ovechkin and Trevor van Riemsdyk. The Capitals added on with a Connor McMichael goal, his second of the year, assisted by Justin Schultz and Carl Hagelin in the second period. Buffalo got on the board with a Cody Eakin goal, his second of the season, going in unassisted. Washington replied with an Ovechkin goal, his eleventh of the year, guided in by Dmitry Orlov and Evgeny Kuznetsov. The Sabres got one back with an Anders Bjork goal in the third period, his second of the season, helped along by Arttu Ruotsalainen and Robert Hagg. The Capitals shot back on a Wilson goal, his second of the game and third of the year, coming off of Kuznetsov. Washington extended the lead as John Carlson scored a power play goal, his third of the season, powered by Kuznetsov and Ovechkin. The Kings extended the lead in the third period as Danault scored again, his second of the game and third of the season going in unassisted. Los Angeles iced it at 5-1 with an Adrian Kempe empty net goal, his fourth of the year, set up by Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar. Detroit added on with a Suter goal, his third of the year, guided in by Filip Hronek and Leddy. The Red Wings extended the lead in the second period as Vladislav Namestnikov scored his fifth of the season, thanks to Mitchell Stephens and Sam Gagner. The Golden Knights got one back in the third period on a Jonathan Marchessault goal, his sixth of the year, fueled by Roy. The Islanders regained the lead on another Lee goal, his second of the game and fourth of the season, assisted by Barzal. The Wild tied it again in the third period with a Ryan Hartman goal, his sixth of the year, courtesy of Dmitry Kulikov and Nico Sturm. Minnesota pulled ahead with a Duhaime goal, his second of the season, fueled by Hartman and Matt Dumba.
