Major League Soccer Week 22

It was All Star Week during the middle of the week, but all teams are back in action on the weekend, with eight games on Saturday and two on Sunday. We begin with a matinee at...

Yankee Stadium, as New York City FC host the Montreal Impact. Evan Bush and Josh Saunders are the goalies. Montreal's Dominic Oduro scored in the fifth minute to open the game, assisted by Laurent Ciman. In the twenty-second minute, New York City's Javier Calle took a yellow card for a foul. The Impact added on in the thirty-second minute with an Ignacio Piatti goal, coming off of Andres Romero. New York City's Jefferson Mena had a yellow card for a forty-third minute foul. Montreal saw a yellow card given to Marco Donadel in first half stoppage time for a foul. New York City's Jason Hernandez took a yellow card for a foul in the fifty-third minute. New York City got on the board with a sixty-eighth minute penalty kick goal by David Villa. The Impact's Romero took a yellow card for dissent in the seventy-fifth minute. Montreal answered as Piatti scored on a penalty kick in the eighty-fourth minute. In the eighty-fifth minute, New York City pulled right back on a Thomas McNamara goal, passed from Angelino and Villa. This made it 3-2, which was the final, with Piatti as the man of the match for his brace.

Over in Philadelphia, the Union welcome the New York Red Bulls. Luis Robles and John McCarthy are set to start in goal. New York saw yellow cards go to Damien Perrinelle in the fifty-first minute and Anthony Wallace in the fifty-sixth minute for fouls. Philadelphia saw a yellow card for a Sebastien Le Toux handball in the sixty-second minute. The Red Bulls started with a Sacha Kljestan penalty kick goal in the sixty-sixth minute. In the seventy-third minute, the Union tied it on a Le Toux goal, via Fernando Aristeguieta and Cristian Maidana. New York retook the lead on a seventy-fourth minute goal from Bradley Wright-Phillips, passed from Shaun Wright-Phillips. In the eighty-ninth minute, Aristeguieta took a yellow card for his foul. The Red Bulls made it 3-1 with a stoppage time goal by Anatole Bertrand Abang, made possible by Kljestan and Dax McCarty. The man of the match was Kljestan for a goal and assist.

Continuing along, DC United brings in Real Salt Lake. Jeff Attinella and Andrew Dykstra are the unprepared goalies for what's about to be written. Salt Lake struck first with a Joao Plata goal in the second minute, assisted by Sebastian Jaime. In the twenty-first minute, Real added on with a Kyle Beckerman goal, via Plata. Salt Lake's Justen Glad had a yellow card for a foul in the twenty-eighth minute. DC got on the board on a forty-second minute goal by Chris Rolfe. In the fifty-third minute, Devon Sandoval committed a yellow card-worthy foul for Real, leading to Rolfe's second of the night a minute later on a penalty kick for United, tying the game. Taylor Kemp put DC ahead in the fifty-ninth minute with his goal. Salt Lake retied it on an Aaron Maund goal in the sixty-second minute, with an assist from Javier Morales. United shot back in the sixty-third minute with a Fabian Espindola goal to take the lead back. Real retied it again on a sixty-eighth minute Abdoulie Mansally goal, guided in by Morales. Salt Lake's Beckerman took a yellow card for dissent in the seventieth minute. DC took the lead again on a Perry Kitchen goal in the seventy-ninth minute, fueled by Kemp. In the eighty-fifth minute, United extended the lead with a Nick DeLeon goal. In stoppage time, Kemp got a yellow card for time wasting for DC. The final score stood at a ridiculous 6-4, with the man of the match being Rolfe for his brace that set the tone for United in their crazy win.

Down in Florida, Orlando City SC hosts Columbus Crew SC. Steve Clark and Tally Hall are the veteran goalies. Columbus began in the fifth minute, on a Federico Higuain goal, made possible by Justin Meram. Orlando City tied it on a Cyle Larin goal in the eighteenth minute, fueled by Corey Ashe and Servando Carrasco. Orlando City took the lead with a thirty-eighth minute goal by Darwin Ceren. Orlando City added on with another Larin goal in the fifty-third minute, helped along by Ashe. In the sixty-third minute, Orlando City's Seb Hines received a yellow card for a foul. The Crew took a yellow card for a seventy-fourth minute foul by Waylon Francis. Orlando City extended the lead in the seventy-seventh minute with an Aurelien Collin goal, courtesy of Luke Boden. Orlando City padded the lead as Cristian Higuita scored, thanks to Kaka. In stoppage time, Columbus got one back as Collin put a ball into his own net. This produced the 5-2 final score, with the man of the match being Larin for his brace as he continues an unprecedented pace for a rookie.

Back north, the New England Revolution welcome Toronto FC. Joe Bendik and Bobby Shuttleworth get the starting nods in goal. New England had a yellow card for a Jose Goncalves foul in the thirtieth minute. Toronto's Robbie Findley took a yellow card for his thirty-fourth minute foul. The Revolution led off with a Charlie Davies goal in the thirty-fifth minute, set up by Kelyn Rowe and Chris Tierney. Toronto went down to ten men as Jozy Altidore was sent off in the thirty-ninth minute for violent conduct. New England added on with a forty-fourth minute goal by Lee Nguyen, a penalty kick goal. Toronto had three yellow cards in the second half, for fouls by Ahmed Kantari in the forty-eighth minute and Bendik in the sixtieth minute, and for dissent from Damien Perquis in the sixty-first minute. The Revolution extended their lead on a Davies goal in the sixty-second minute. Toronto got on the board with a Jonathan Osorio goal in the seventy-fifth minute, passed from Marco Delgado. The final remained from here at 3-1, with the man of the match being Davies for his brace.

Out west, Sporting Kansas City brings in the Houston Dynamo. Tyler Deric and Tim Melia are the inexperienced goalies. Kansas City was first to score in the sixth minute with a Dominic Dwyer goal, made possible by Benny Feilhaber. Sporting's Matt Besler took a yellow card for a foul in the twentieth minute. In the forty-fifth minute, Kansas City's Dwyer and Houston's goalie Deric both received yellow cards for fouls. Sporting had two yellow cards in the second half, for Kevin Ellis wasting time in the sixty-fifth minute and a seventy-sixth minute Chance Myers foul. The Dynamo tied it on a seventy-eighth minute goal from Ricardo Clark, assisted by Brad Davis. In the eightieth minute, Houston saw a yellow card go to Erick Torres for a foul. The Dynamo ended the game with ten men due to a red card for a foul by Nathan Sturgis in the eighty-sixth minute. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, with the man of the match being Clark for his equalizer.

Further west, the Colorado Rapids host the Los Angeles Galaxy. Donovan Ricketts and Clint Irwin man the nets. Colorado dented the scoreboard in the twelfth minute on a Marcelo Sarvas. The Rapids saw yellow cards for Bobby Burling's forty-second minute foul and an argument a minute later from Sam Cronin. Los Angeles tied it in the fifty-sixth minute on a Sebastian Lletget goal, via Juninho. The Galaxy took the lead with a sixty-ninth minute goal by Alan Gordon. Los Angeles saw yellow cards administered to Edson Buddle in the eightieth minute, Rafael Garcia in the eighty-eighth minute, and Robbie Keane in stoppage time, all for fouls. Two minutes after his yellow card, Keane added on for the Galaxy, with the help of Steven Gerrard. The man of the match was Gordon for his game-winner in the 3-1 game.

Ending Saturday's crazy slate, the Seattle Sounders FC welcome the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. David Ousted and Stefan Frei are the gloved men. Vancouver got going in the sixth minute with a Pa Modou Kah goal. The Whitecaps added on with a forty-ninth minute goal from Kah, courtesy of Cristian Techera and Kekuta Manneh. Seattle saw a yellow card given to Clint Dempsey for a fifty-third minute foul. Vancouver took a yellow card for a Kendall Waston foul in the sixty-seventh minute. The Sounders' Osvaldo Alonso received a yellow card for his foul in the seventy-fourth minute. The Whitecaps extended the lead as Pedro Morales scored in the seventy-fifth minute. The final was 3-0, with the man of the match being Kah for his brace.

The first Sunday game is the San Jose Earthquakes bringing in the Portland Timbers. Adam Larsen Kwarasey and David Bingham are in the six-yard boxes. San Jose had a fourteenth minute yellow card for a Shaun Francis foul. In the eighty-eighth minute, Jordan Stewart of the Earthquakes received a yellow card for a foul. The game ended in a 0-0 draw, with the man of the match being Bingham for his five-save clean sheet.

Rounding out the week, the Chicago Fire host FC Dallas. Dan Kennedy and Sean Johnson are the keepers. Chicago led off in the fourth minute with a David Accam goal, passed from Jason Johnson. Dallas had a yellow card for a Mauro Diaz argument in the thirty-fifth minute. Dallas' Tesho Akindele took a yellow card for his forty-eighth minute foul. In the seventy-sixth minute, Kellyn Acosta of Dallas took a yellow card for his foul. The Fire went down to ten men in the seventy-ninth minute as Matt Watson received a straight red card for his foul. Chicago added on in the eighty-fifth minute with a penalty kick goal by Shaun Maloney. The final stood from here at 2-0, with the man of the match being Accam.

Major League Soccer Week 21

Nine games this weekend, beginning with...

Friday's match, Real Salt Lake hosting Sporting Kansas City. Tim Melia and Jeff Attinella are in goal. Salt Lake started in the thirty-fourth minute with a Javier Morales goal, via Sebastian Jaime. Kansas City tied it as Benny Feilhaber scored in the fiftieth minute, thanks to Roger Espinoza. In the seventy-second minute, Sporting's goalie Melia received a yellow card for his foul, leading to Joao Plata's penalty kick goal a minute later that put Real ahead again. In the seventy-fifth minute, Kansas City saw a yellow card go to Erik Palmer-Brown. In stoppage time, both Sporting's Feilhaber and Sale Lake's Plata took yellow cards for fouls, as well as a yellow card to Real's Elias Vasquez for persistent infringement a minute later. The final stood at 2-1, with the man of the match being Attinella, for five saves on six shots.

The first of five Saturday games sees the Columbus Crew SC welcome Toronto FC. Joe Bendik and Steve Clark are in goal. In the seventeenth minute, Columbus opened with a Kei Kamara goal, passed from Federico Higuain. Toronto saw a yellow card for Damien Perquis in the twentieth minute, for a foul. The Crew added on in the thirty-sixth minute with a Tony Tchani goal, via Ethan Finlay. Columbus extended the lead as Finlay scored in the forty-seventh minute, with the help of Justin Meram. Toronto got on the board with a Sebastian Giovinco goal, assisted by Collen Warner. Toronto pulled closer on a fifty-fifth minute Warner goal, coming off of Daniel Lovitz and Giovinco. In the sixty-ninth minute, the Crew's Kamara received a yellow card for a foul. Toronto received yellow cards for a Warner foul in the seventy-sixth minute and dissent by Giovinco in the eighty-fifth minute. Columbus' Waylon Francis took a yellow card for an eighty-eighth minute foul, leading to Toronto's equalizer on a Jozy Altidore penalty kick goal. This made it 3-3, the final, with the man of the match being Warner for leading the Toronto comeback.

Up in Montreal, the Impact bring in the Seattle Sounders FC. Troy Perkins faces his former team and Evan Bush in goal. Seattle took a yellow card for a foul by Gonzalo Pineda in the eighty-fourth minute. Montreal was first to score in the eighty-eighth minute on a Laurent Ciman goal, assisted by Marco Donadel. In the ninetieth minute, the Impact's Donadel received a yellow card for a foul. In stoppage time, Jack McInerney of Montreal took a yellow card for time wasting. The final stood at 1-0, with Ciman earning the man of the match honors for his late winner.

Back stateside, the Chicago Fire host the New England Revolution. Brad Knighton and Sean Johnson are the keepers. New England led off in the twenty-eighth minute on a Lee Nguyen goal. Chicago tied it with a Shaun Maloney penalty kick goal in the forty-fourth minute. The Revolution's Andrew Farrell took a yellow card in first half stoppage time for his argument. The Fire saw yellow cards for fouls by David Accam in the sixty-first minute and Harry Shipp in the sixty-second minute. Chicago took the lead as Razvan Cocis scored in the seventy-fifth minute. New England retied it in the seventy-seventh minute with a Kelyn Rowe goal, via Chris Tierney. In the eighty-first minute, Eric Gehrig of the Fire took a yellow card for a foul. The Revolution took a yellow card for an eighty-eighth minute Tierney foul. The final stood at 2-2. Nguyen received the man of the match honors.

South to Houston, where the Dynamo welcome the Los Angeles Galaxy. Brian Rowe and Tyler Deric are in the six-yard boxes. Houston began in the ninth minute with a Will Bruin goal, assisted by Brad Davis. Los Angeles saw a yellow card go to Bradford Jamieson for a sixteenth minute foul. The Dynamo added on in the twenty-seventh minute on a Davis goal courtesy of Nathan Sturgis. Houston extended the lead in the eighty-eighth minute as Leonel Miranda scored, thanks to Rasheed Olabiyi. The final remained 3-0, with the man of the match being Davis for a goal and assist.

New York City regained the lead on a Villa goal in the sixty-seventh minute, his second of the game, set up by Kwadwo Poku. New York City added on with a McNamara goal, guided in by Poku. Orlando City's Rivas took a yellow card for an eighty-first minute foul. Orlando City is not done yet, with Larin completing his hat trick with an eighty-fifth minute goal, fueled by Kaka. In the eighty-eighth minute, Andrea Pirlo took a yellow card for a foul. Carrasco of Orlando City had a yellow card for his ninetieth minute foul. New York City iced it at 5-3 with a Mix Diskerud goal, courtesy of Poku and Villa in stoppage time, the former getting a sock trick for three assists. In the crazy game, Larin is the man of the match for his hat trick, despite his team losing.

Next up, DC United welcomes the Philadelphia Union. Brian Sylvestre and Andrew Dykstra are the goalies. Philadelphia dented the scoreboard in the first minute with a C.J. Sapong goal, coming off of Cristian Maidana. The Union added on in the fourth minute as Sebastien Le Toux scored, with the help of Zach Pfeffer. DC got on the board with a thirty-seventh minute goal by Alvaro Saborio, assisted by Chris Korb and Nick DeLeon. United tied it in the sixty-sixth minute with a DeLeon goal, passed from Fabian Espindola. Philadelphia took a yellow card for an Eric Ayuk Mbu foul in the sixty-eighth minute. DC took the lead in the seventy-ninth minute as Espindola scored, thanks to Korb. The final was 3-2, with the man of the match being Espindola for a game-winner and assist.

Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC bring in the San Jose Earthquakes. David Bingham and David Ousted are between the posts. Vancouver quickly started with a fifth minute goal by Mauro Rosales. The Whitecaps added on in the thirty-second minute on a Kendall Waston goal, via Rosales. Vancouver saw a yellow card go to Gershon Koffie in the thirty-sixth minute. San Jose had a yellow card go to Quincy Amarikwa in the forty-fifth minute for a foul. The Whitecaps extended the lead with a penalty kick goal by Octavio Rivero in the fifty-sixth minute. In the fifty-ninth minute, Nicolas Mezquida of Vancouver took a yellow card for his foul. The Earthquakes got on the board with an Amarikwa goal in the ninetieth minute, made possible by Shea Salinas. The Whitecaps had a yellow card for Russell Teibert's stoppage time foul. Major League Soccer Week 20

Everyone plays this weekend, beginning on Friday in...

Los Angeles, with the Galaxy hosting the San Jose Earthquakes for a Cali Clasico. David Bingham and Brian Rowe are called on to start in goal. San Jose started in the twenty-second minute with a Quincy Amarikwa goal, assisted by Sanna Nyassi. The Earthquakes added on with an Amarikwa goal in the twenty-fifth minute, courtesy of Clarence Goodson. In the thirtieth minute, Tommy Thompson of San Jose received a yellow card for a foul, and Los Angeles got a goal back as Robbie Keane scored on the ensuing penalty kick. In the thirty-sixth minute, Robbie Rogers of the Galaxy had a yellow card for a foul. Los Angeles tied it on a thirty-seventh minute Steven Gerrard goal. The Earthquakes saw a yellow card for Shea Salinas' foul in the fifty-fifth minute. The Galaxy took the lead on another Keane goal, set up by Gerrard. San Jose saw yellow cards by the goalie Bingham in the sixty-ninth minute for unsporting behavior and by Jordan Stewart for a foul in the seventieth minute. In the eightieth minute, Keane completed his hat trick for Los Angeles with another penalty kick goal. In the eighty-ninth minute, the Galaxy's Keane received a yellow card for a foul. In stoppage time, Los Angeles made it 5-2 with a Sebastian Lletget goal, passed from Rogers. This was the final score, with the man of the match being Keane for his hat trick.

The final stood at 1-0, with the man of the match being Nguyen.

Dallas dented the scoreboard in the seventy-third minute on a Kellyn Acosta goal, fueled by David Texeira. DC got on the board as Matt Hedges recorded an own goal in the seventy-seventh minute. In stoppage time, Dallas retook the lead with a Fabian Castillo goal. Two minutes later, United's Jairo Arrieta took a yellow card for unsporting behavior. The final was 2-1, and the man of the match was Castillo for his late winner.

Ending Saturday, the Portland Timbers bring in the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. David Ousted and Adam Larsen Kwarasey are the keepers. Vancouver saw a yellow card given to Tim Parker in the twenty-second minute. Portland began in the thirty-third minute on a Diego Valeri goal, assisted by Fanendo Adi. Finally, Sunday's single game is a rematch from Wednesday, as the Columbus Crew SC get their turn to host the Chicago Fire to end the week. Sean Johnson and Steve Clark again handle the goalkeeping. Columbus struck first in the second minute with a Federico Higuain penalty kick goal. Chicago tied it in the ninth minute on a David Accam goal. The Crew retook the lead in the seventeenth minute as Kei Kamara scored, thanks to Waylon Francis. In the thirty-fifth minute, Jason Johnson of the Fire took a yellow card for a foul. In first half stoppage time, Chicago's Adailton took a yellow card for his handball. In the fiftieth minute, the Fire went to ten men as Jason Johnson received another yellow card for a dive, earning him an ejection. In the fifty-third minute, Columbus'
Tony Tchani received a yellow card for a foul. In the sixty-fifth minute, the Crew saw a yellow card assessed to Higuain for his foul. Columbus added on in the eighty-third minute on an Ethan Finlay goal, assisted by Chad Barson. This made it 3-1, the final, with Kamara being the man of the match.

Chicago Fire VS. Columbus Crew SC

Just one midweek game, with the Chicago Fire hosting the Columbus Crew SC. Steve Clark and Sean Johnson are in the six-yard boxes. Columbus opened in the forty-first minute as Kei Kamara scored, thanks to Ethan Finlay. Major League Soccer Week 19

Nine games on in MLS play around the Gold Cup this week. We begin with one on Friday, with...

The San Jose Earthquakes hosting the Houston Dynamo. Tyler Deric and David Bingham man the nets. Houston opened with Ricardo Clark's tenth minute goal, via Alexander Lopez. The Dynamo goalie, Deric, received a yellow card in the thirty-first minute for a foul. Houston had a yellow card go to DaMarcus Beasley in the thirty-seventh minute for his foul. In first half stoppage time, the Dynamo took two more yellow cards, for fouls by Raul Rodriguez and Nathan Sturgis. Houston added on with a Will Bruin goal in the eighty-first minute, passed from Leonel Miranda. This made it 2-0, the final, with the man of the match being Deric for a three-save clean sheet.

Saturday's first game sees the New York Red Bulls welcome the New England Revolution. Bobby Shuttleworth and Luis Robles are in goal. New York started in the fourth minute with a Bradley Wright-Phillips goal, via Lloyd Sam. The Red Bulls added on in the ninth minute with a Sam goal, passed from Mike Grella and Wright-Phillips. New York extended the lead as Wright-Phillips scored again in the twelfth minute, with the help of Dax McCarty and Sacha Kljestan. New England took a yellow card for dissent by Jose Goncalves in the thirty-fifth minute. The Revolution got on the board with a thirty-seventh minute goal by Andy Dorman, assisted by Lee Nguyen and Teal Bunbury. In the fifty-fourth minute, the Red Bulls' Felipe took a yellow card for dangerous play. New York padded their lead in the fifty-sixth minute with an Anthony Wallace goal, set up by McCarty. London Woodberry of New England had a yellow card for his persistent infringement in the fifty-eighth minute. The Red Bulls saw yellow cards go to McCarty in the sixty-second minute for dissent, Robles in the sixty-fifth minute for time wasting, and Connor Lade in the seventy-sixth minute for a foul. In the eighty-eighth minute, Goncalves took his second yellow card of the game for the Revolution for a foul, putting his team at ten men with the ejection. The final remained at 4-1, with the man of the match being Wright-Phillips with a brace and an assist.

Over in Philadelphia, the Union bring in the Portland Timbers. Andrew Weber and Brian Sylvestre are in the six-yard boxes. Philadelphia saw a yellow card for a thirty-fifth minute foul by Maurice Edu. The Union took another yellow card in the sixty-fourth minute for a Sebastien Le Toux foul. The Union added on with a Vincent Nogueira goal in the seventy-first minute, courtesy of Maidana. Philadelphia extended the lead with another Nogueira goal in the eighty-second minute, via Maidana, who got a sock trick for his third assist. In the eighty-sixth minute, Diego Valeri of Portland received a yellow card for a foul. The final stood at 3-0, with Maidana the man of the match for setting up all of the goals.

Down in Florida, Orlando City SC hosts FC Dallas. Dan Kennedy and Tally Hall are the gloved men. Dallas began in first half stoppage time with a Mauro Diaz penalty kick goal. In the sixty-fourth minute, David Texeira added on for Dallas with his goal, passed from Victor Ulloa and Fabian Castillo. In the seventy-seventh minute, Dallas' Ryan Hollingshead and Orlando City's Luke Boden received yellow cards for fouls. Dallas took another yellow card for a Kennedy foul. Orlando City went down to ten men in second half stoppage time as Boden took a second yellow card for another foul, earning his ejection. The final remained 2-0, with the man of the match being Diaz for the timely PK.

North to Canada, where the Montreal Impact welcome the Columbus Crew SC. Steve Clark and Evan Bush are the experienced goalies. Montreal was first to score in the fifth minute on a Dominic Oduro goal, assisted by Ignacio Piatti. The Impact added on with a Marco Donadel goal in the eighth minute, via Calum Mallace. In the twenty-fourth minute, Montreal's Dilly Duka took a yellow card for a foul. Columbus saw a yellow card for a twenty-fifth minute foul by Mohamed Saeid. In the fifty-fifth minute, Justin Meram of the Crew took a yellow card for his foul. The Impact took another yellow card in the sixty-sixth minute for an Ambroise Oyongo foul. Montreal extended the lead in the eightieth minute with a goal by Oduro. Columbus. The Impact saw Bakary Soumare receive a yellow card for dissent in the eighty-sixth minute. The final stood at 3-0 for Montreal, with Oduro's brace earning him man of the match honors.

Back stateside, the Chicago Fire bring in the Seattle Sounders FC. Troy Perkins and Sean Johnson guard the woodwork. Seattle took the first yellow card in the eightieth minute for an Andy Craven foul. Chicago had a pair of yellow cards for Razvan Cocis' persistent infringement in the eighty-second minute and Adailton's foul in the eighty-fourth minute. The Fire got a late 1-0 winner in stoppage time on a Jason Johnson goal, coming off of Michael Stephens. The man of the match was Sean Johnson for his two-save clean sheet, including a late save on Craven at point-blank range.

Ending Saturday, the Colorado Rapids host Real Salt Lake. Jeff Attinella and Clint Irwin are the keepers. Salt Lake got going with a Sebastian Jaime goal in the seventy-ninth minute. Colorado tied it on an eighty-first minute goal by Drew Moor, made possible by Charles Eloundou. The Rapids took a yellow card for an eighty-third minute foul by Bobby Burling. Real went down to ten men when Jaime received a straight red card for his foul in the eighty-fourth minute. Colorado took the lead a minute into stoppage time on a Jared Watts goal. The Rapids added on six minutes later with a Juan Ramirez goal, assisted by Eloundou. The final was 3-1, with the man of the match being Watts for his game-winner.

The first Sunday game sees New York City FC welcome Toronto FC. Chris Konopka and Josh Saunders are set to start in goal. New York City struck first with a seventeenth minute goal by David Villa. Toronto's Nick Hagglund took a yellow card for his twenty-sixth minute foul. New York City added on with an own goal by Damien Perquis. In the thirty-fourth minute, Toronto got on the board with a Sebastian Giovinco penalty kick goal. Toronto tied it in the fortieth minute as Giovinco scored again, thanks to Jackson and Collen Warner. Toronto gained the lead in the forty-third minute when Giovinco completed his hat trick on a goal assisted by Robbie Findley and Marco Delgado. New York City took a yellow card for a Andoni Iraola foul in the sixtieth minute. Toronto's Warner took a yellow card for his sixty-second minute foul. In the sixty-fifth minute, Villa scored on a penalty kick to tie the game for New York City on his second of the game. New York City had a yellow card given to Mehdi Ballouchy for his sixty-sixth minute foul. In the eighty-second minute, Toronto regained the lead on a Delgado goal, set up by Giovinco. New York City tied the game again in the eighty-fourth minute with a Patrick Mullins goal. In stoppage time, Justin Morrow of Toronto took a yellow card for a foul. The final was 4-4, with the man of the match being Giovinco.

Finally, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC bring in Sporting Kansas City. Tim Melia and David Ousted are given the starting nods in goal. Kansas City took a yellow card for a Benny Feilhaber foul in the twentieth minute. Sporting led off with a fifty-second minute goal by Kevin Ellis, assisted by Krisztian Nemeth. Kansas City took a yellow card for a Soni Mustivar foul in the fifty-eighth minute. Vancouver saw a yellow card go to Kendall Waston in the seventy-third minute for dissent. In the eighty-sixth minute, Sporting's Nemeth took a yellow card for time wasting, followed by a yellow card to Dominic Dwyer in the eighty-eighth minute for an argument. The final was 1-0, with the man of the match being Melia for a six-save clean sheet.

Major League Soccer Week 18

There's nine games this holiday weekend, as well as a big Women's World Cup game for the United States on Sunday. We begin on Friday, with two games beginning in...

Houston, with the Dynamo hosting the Chicago Fire. Sean Johnson faces a lesser foe in Joe Willis in goal. Chicago took two yellow cards for fouls by Lovel Palmer in the thirty-eighth minute and Guly in the fortieth minute. Houston got going with a fifty-sixth minute goal by Alex, assisted by Brad Davis. Raul Rodriguez took a yellow card for his sixty-sixth minute foul for the Dynamo. Chicago tied it in the seventy-second minute as Patrick Nyarko scored. Nyarko took a yellow card for dissent in the eighty-sixth minute for the Fire. The final stood at 1-1, with Nyarko as the man of the match.

Up in Seattle, the other Friday game has the Sounders FC welcoming DC United. Andrew Dykstra and Stefan Frei make the starts in goal. Seattle took a yellow card for a thirteenth minute foul by Zach Scott. DC went down to ten men when Fabian Espindola earned a straight red card for his foul in the twenty-seventh minute. In the fifty-eighth minute, Conor Doyle of United took a yellow card for a foul. The seventy-eighth minute saw yellow cards for Perry Kitchen of DC and Osvaldo Alonso of the Sounders for unsporting behavior. In the eighty-eighth minute, Seattle took the lead with a Tyrone Mears goal. The Sounders' Lamar Neagle received a yellow card for his foul in stoppage time. The game ended at 1-0 with Mears being the man of the match.

Saturday began in Columbus, with the Crew SC bringing in the New York Red Bulls. Luis Robles and Steve Clark are in the six yard boxes. Columbus took the lead as Finlay scored again in the seventy-fourth minute, assisted by Kamara and Federico Higuain. In stoppage time, Felipe of New York took a yellow card for dissent. The final stood at 2-1 and Finlay was the man of the match for his brace.

Up in Montreal, the Impact host New York City FC. Josh Saunders and Evan Bush are set to start in goal. New York City opened in the thirty-fourth minute with a David Villa goal, passed from Patrick Mullins. In first half stoppage time, Kwadwo Poku of New York City took a yellow card for encroachment. New York City saw yellow cards for a Mullins foul in the fifty-third minute and time wasting by RJ Allen in the sixty-first minute. Montreal had a yellow card given to Laurent Ciman in the sixty-ninth minute for a foul. In the seventy-seventh minute, Ignacio Piatti converted a penalty kick to tie the game for the Impact. Colorado took three yellow cards for fouls by Jared Watts in the sixty-fifth minute, Pittinari in the seventy-second minute, and Drew Moor in the seventy-seventh minute. The score stayed at 2-1, with the man of the match being Doyle for his game-winner.

Over in Utah, Real Salt Lake host Orlando City SC. Tally Hall and Jeff Attinella protect the nets. Orlando City dented the scoreboard in the fifth minute on a Kaka goal, via Pedro Ribeiro and Eric Avila. Salt Lake tied it on a Sebastian Jaime goal, set up by Tony Beltran in the twenty-eighth minute. In the thirty-eighth minute, Orlando City's Cristian Higuita took a yellow card for his foul. Closing out Saturday, the Los Angeles Galaxy welcome Toronto FC. Chris Konopka and Brian Rowe protect the woodwork. Los Angeles got going with a ninth minute penalty kick goal by Robbie Keane. The Galaxy added on with a Keane goal in the forty-first minute, made possible by Baggio Husidic and Stefan Ishizaki. Los Angeles saw yellow cards for Jose Villarreal in the fifty-fourth minute and Husidic in the fifty-eighth minute, both for fouls. The Galaxy extended the lead as Keane scored in the fifty-ninth minute to secure a hat trick. Toronto took yellow cards for Eriq Zavaleta in the sixtieth minute and Marco Delgado in the sixty-eighth minute, both for fouls. Los Angeles saw a yellow card for an A.J. DeLaGarza foul in the eightieth minute. Toronto's Collen Warner had a yellow card for a foul in the eighty-fifth minute. The Galaxy iced it at 4-0 with a Sebastian Lletget goal in stoppage time, with the help of Ignacio Maganto.

Finally, the Portland Timbers bring in the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday night. David Bingham and Adam Larsen Kwarasey are the goalies. San Jose saw a yellow card go to Clarence Goodson in the fifty-first minute for a foul. In the seventy-fifth minute, Mark Sherrod took a yellow card for a foul for the Earthquakes. Portland got a late goal from Jack Jewsbury in stoppage time, via Gaston Fernandez to win the game 1-0. Jewsbury was the man of the match for his winner.

Major League Soccer Week 17 Part 2

The weekend carries nine games for MLS, beginning with Friday's...

FC Dallas hosting the Houston Dynamo. Tyler Deric and Dan Kennedy are in goal. Houston took a yellow card for a Daivd Horst foul in the thirtieth minute. Dallas got on the board with an own goal by Jermaine Taylor in the thirty-third minute. Dallas added on in the forty-second minute as Fabian Castillo scored, with the help of Mauro Diaz after a yellow card went to Giles Barnes for encroachment. Dallas saw yellow cards given to Kellyn Acosta in the fifty-fourth minute, Matt Hedges in the sixty-sixth minute, and Atiba Harris in the sixty-eighth minute, all for fouls. The Dynamo's Taylor had another bad mark on his record with a yellow card in the seventy-seventh minute for his foul. The final stood at 3-0, and Kennedy was the man of the match with a three-save clean sheet.

The first of Saturday's six games saw Toronto FC welcome DC United. Bill Hamid and Chris Konopka man the nets. Toronto took a yellow card for a Collen Warner handball in the fifty-third minute. DC had four yellow cards, given to Chris Korb in the fifty-fourth minute, Miguel Aguilar in the sixty-first minute, Facundo Coria in the eighty-ninth minute, and Davy Arnaud in stoppage time, all for fouls. The final stood at 0-0, with the man of the match being Toronto's Sebastian Giovinco, who attempted nine shots and put three on target, which Hamid turned aside.

Montreal went down to ten men when Bernier picked up another yellow card for a foul in the sixty-seventh, earning his ejection with his second yellow of the game. The Impact still managed to take the lead in the seventieth minute with a Jack McInerney goal, coming off of Romero. In the seventy-second minute, Montreal took a yellow card for a Donny Toia foul. The Union leveled the score with an Edu goal in the seventy-sixth minute. Philadelphia went down to ten men when Mbu took his second yellow card of the game in the seventy-seventh minute for a foul, earning an ejection. The final stayed at 2-2, with the man of the match being Edu for his equalizer.

Over to the New England Revolution hosting the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. David Ousted and Bobby Shuttleworth protect the nets. Vancouver opened in the eighteenth minute with a Cristian Techera goal. New England's Andrew Farrell had a rough go of things, picking up a yellow card for a twentieth minute foul before drawing a straight red in the twenty-ninth minute for his tactical foul. The Whitecaps added on in the thirty-first minute with an Octavio Rivero penalty kick goal stemming from Farrell's second foul. Vancouver's Jordan Harvey took a yellow card for a thirty-third minute foul. In the forty-first minute, Diego Fagundez of the Revolution had a yellow card for a foul. In the fifty-fourth minute, New England received a yellow card for persistent infringement by Teal Bunbury. The Whitecaps saw Darren Mattocks get booked on a yellow card for his eighty-second minute foul. The Revolution got on the board in the eighty-fourth minute with a Bunbury goal, passed from Kelyn Rowe. Vancouver took two more yellow cards, for an eighty-eighth minute foul by Steven Beitashour and time wasting in stoppage time by Nicolas Mezquida. The final stayed at 2-1, and Ousted was the man of the match for turning away eight of the nine shots that went on target from the Revolution.

Southwest to Kansas City, where Sporting welcomes the Colorado Rapids. Clint Irwin and Tim Melia are the gloved men. Real's Aaron Maund was booked on a yellow card for a foul in the seventy-sixth minute.
