Today's single game is in Cherepovets, as Severstal hosts Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Curtis Sanford and Jakub Stepanek are given the starting nods. Yaroslavl began in the first period with a Vadim Khlopotov goal, via Igor Musatov. Cherepovets tied it as Vadim Berdnikov scored, thanks to Nikolai Zherdev and Gennady Stolyarov. Lokomotiv took the lead back in the second period on a Sergei Plotnikov goal, with a lone assist by Sergei Konkov. This was good for a 2-1 win, with the three stars being Sanford (29 for 30 in saves), Plotnikov, and Stepanek (29 for 31 in saves).
