Avangard Omsk hosting Dinamo Minsk. Kevin Lalande and Dominik Furch get the starts. Omsk opened in the first period on a Vladimir Sobotka goal, assisted by Martin Erat and Maxim Kazakov. Avangard added on with an Ivan Fishchenko goal, fueled by Ilya Mikheyev and Yury Petrov. Jeff Glass replaced Lalande in goal. Omsk extended the lead as Michal Kempny scored, with the help of Alexander Perezhogin and Denis Parshin. Avangard padded the lead with a Nikolai Lemtyugov goal, via Alexei Glukhov. Omsk kept going in the second period on a Sobotka goal, his second of the game, with a lone assist by Kazakov. Avangard continued with another Lemtyugov goal, his second of the game, helped along by Anton Burdasov. Minsk got on the board in the third period with a Konstantin Koltsov goal, courtesy of Matt Ellison and Ryan Vesce. Omsk struck back on a Glukhov goal, guided in by Ivan Lekomtsev and Perezhogin. Avangard won 8-1 with a Mikheyev goal, with a lone assist by Alexander Chernikov. The three stars went to Sobotka, Lemtyugov, and Glukhov, while Mikheyev, Perezhogin, and Kazakov get the honorable mentions.
Up in Khanty-Mansiysk, Yugra welcomes CSKA Moscow. Viktor Fasth and Georgy Gelashvili are in the creases. Moscow struck first in the first period on an unassisted Alexander Radulov goal. CSKA added on in the second period with a shorthanded Gennady Stolyarov goal, set up by Artyom Sergeyev. Moscow extended the lead in the third period as Jan Mursak scored, thanks to Radulov. CSKA padded the lead with a Mursak power play goal, his second of the game, powered by Geoff Platt and Radulov. Moscow finished it at 5-0 with a Stephane Da Costa power play goal, with assists provided by Nikita Zaitsev and Radulov, the latter getting a sock trick. The three stars went to Radulov, Mursak, and Fasth (22 save shutout).
Down to Kazakhstan, where Barys Astana hosts Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. Ilya Proskuryakov and Jan Laco draw the starts in goal. Astana started in the first period on a Dustin Boyd goal, via Nigel Dawes and Brandon Bochenski. Barys added on in the second period with an unassisted Mike Lundin power play goal. Astana extended the lead as Konstantin Romanov scored, with a lone helper by Maxim Semyonov. Nizhny Novgorod got on the power play with an Artyom Alyayev power play goal, powered by Kaspars Daugavins and Alexander Frolov. Torpedo got closer on a Maxim Osipov goal, guided in by Alexei Sopin and Alyayev. Barys replied in the third period with a Konstantin Pushkaryov power play goal, helped along by Roman Savchenko. Astana iced it at 5-2 with a Boyd empty net goal, set up by Bochenski. The three stars went to Boyd, Alyayev, and Bochenski.
Into Moscow, with Spartak bringing in Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Andrei Kareyev and Evgeny Ivannikov man the nets. Moscow was first to score in the first period on an Alexander Mereskin goal, via Konstantin Glazachev. Spartak added on with an Artyom Voronin goal, coming off of Alexander Vasilyev and Igor Levitsky. Novokuznetsk got on the board in the second period Kirill Kaprizov goal, assisted by Fyodor Polishchuk. Metallurg tied it on a Mikhail Plotnikov goal, with a lone assist by Robert Kousal. Novokuznetsk took the lead in the third period as Alexander Komaristy scored, with the help of Kaprizov. This gave them a 3-2 win, with the three stars going to Kaprizov, Komaristy, and Plotnikov.
Northwest to St. Petersburg, where SKA hosts Sibir Novosibirsk. Alexander Salak and Mikko Koskinen tend the twines against their former teams. St. Petersburg led off in the first period with an Evgeny Dadonov goal, fueled by Ilya Kovalchuk and Vadim Shipachyov. SKA added on with a Jarno Koskiranta power play goal, via Alexander Barabanov. Novosibirsk got on the board with a Maxim Shalunov goal, made possible by Andrej Meszaros. Sibir tied it on an Oleg Gubin power play goal, powered by Sergei Shumakov and Konstantin Alexeyev. St. Petersburg pulled ahead with a Nikita Gusev goal in the second period, helped along by Shipachyov and Kovalchuk on the power play. SKA extended the lead as Andrei Kuteikin scored, thanks to Shipachyov, who got a sock trick, and Dinar Khafizullin. St. Petersburg padded the lead on a Gusev power play goal, coming off of Kovalchuk, who got a sock trick, and Shipachyov. SKA finished it at 6-2 with a third period Yegor Yakovlev goal, passed from Alexander Kadeikin and Gusev. The three stars went to Gusev, Shipachyov, and Kovalchuk.
Backtracking to Nizhnekamsk, Neftekhimik welcomes Traktor Chelyabinsk. Vasily Demchenko and Ivan Lisutin are the goalies. Nizhnekamsk began in the first period with a Yegor Milovzorov goal, passed from Kirill Lyamin and Igor Polygalov. Chelyabinsk tied it on an Alexei Kruchinin goal, assisted by Andrei Popov and Maxim Yakutsenya. Traktor took the lead in the third period with a Popov power play goal, powered by Filip Novak and Yakutsenya. This held for a 2-1 win, with the three stars going to Demchenko, Popov, and Yakutsenya.
Up in Helsinki, Jokerit hosts Amur Khabarovsk. Alexander Pechursky and Henrik Karlsson are between the pipes. Helsinki opened with a first period Pekka Jormakka goal, coming off of Philip Larsen. Khabarovsk tied it on a Vladimir Pervushin goal, fueled by Tom Wandell and Mikhail Zheleznov. Jokerit took the lead again in the third period on a Ville Lajunen power play goal, powered by Juhamatti Aaltonen and Tim Kennedy. Amur tied it with three seconds left in regulation on a Dmitry Tarasov goal, passed from Jan Kolar and Tomas Zohorna. Jokerit won with a Brandon Kozun goal in the shootout, for a 3-2 final. The three stars went to Lajunen, Kozun, and Jormakka.
Finally, Dinamo Riga brings in Admiral Vladivostok. Jakub Sedlacek and Igor Bobkov are the masked men. Riga started in the first period on a Lauris Darzins goal, courtesy of Gints Meija and Guntis Galvins. Vladivostok tied it on a Jonathon Blum power play goal, powered by Dmitry Lugin and Oskars Bartulis. Dinamo retook the lead on a Filipp Toluzakov goal, fueled by Mikelis Redlihs. Admiral tied it again with a Mikhail Fisenko goal, via Geoffrey Kinrade and Lugin. Riga retook the lead as Toluzakov scored again, with another assist from Redlihs. Dinamo won 4-2 with a Darzins empty net goal, set up by Meija and Steven Seigo. The three stars were Toluzakov, Darzins, and Redlihs, while Lugin gets an honorable mention.
