2015/16 KHL Season - Day 126

Three games on today, beginning with...

Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg hosting Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Ilya Samsonov and Igor Ustinsky draw the starts in goal. Magnitogorsk led off in the first period on a Viktor Antipin power play goal, with assists provided by Danis Zaripov. Yekaterinburg tied it on a Petr Koukal goal in the second period, coming off of Anatoly Golyshev. Avtomobilist took the lead with an Eero Elo goal, via Alexander Torchenyuk and Artyom Gareyev. Metallurg tied it again with a Tomas Filippi goal, courtesy of Chris Lee and Antipin. Magnitogorsk took the lead back with an Antipin power play goal, powered by Wojtek Wolski and Oskar Osala. Yekaterinburg tied it again with a Koukal goal, his second of the game, assisted by Alexei Mikhnov and Golyshev. Avtomobilist took the lead with a Golyshev goal in the third period, made possible by Mikhnov and Koukal. Yekaterinburg added on with another Golyshev goal, his second of the game, helped along by Mikhnov, who got a sock trick, and Dmitry Megalinsky. Avtomobilist ended it at 6-3 with an empty net goal by Gareyev, set up by Elo and Yegor Zhuravlyov. The three stars went to Golyshev, Koukal, and Antipin, while Mikhnov, Elo, and Gareyev get the honorable mentions.

Over in Cherepovets, Severstal welcomes Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Alexei Murygin faces a lesser foe in Roman Smiryagin in goal. Yaroslavl dented the scoreboard in the third period on a Daniil Apalkov goal, guided in by Staffan Kronwall and Yegor Averin on the power play. This stood for a 1-0 win, with the three stars awarded to Murygin (18 save shutout), Apalkov, and Smiryagin (30 for 31 in saves).

Finally, Slovan Bratislava brings in Dynamo Moscow. Alexander Yeryomenko and Barry Brust are in the creases. Bratislava began in the first period with a Ziga Jeglic goal, coming off of Rok Ticar. Slovan added on with a Lukas Kaspar goal, made possible by Cam Barker on the power play. Moscow got on the board in the second period with an Alexei Tsvetkov goal, passed from Artyom Fyodorov. Dynamo tied it in the third period with an Alexander Osipov goal, assisted by Maxim Karpov and Fyodorov. Moscow took the lead with an unassisted Ilya Shipov goal. Dynamo extended the lead as Ivan Igumnov scored, thanks to Shipov and Maxim Solovyov. Bratislava got one back with a Michal Sersen power play goal, going in unassisted. The game ended 4-3 for Dynamo, with the three stars given to Shipov, Igumnov, and Osipov.
