week. We begin with…
Toronto FC hosting New York City
FC. Josh Saunders and Clint Irwin are in goal. New York City led off with a
Kwadwo Poku goal in the sixteenth minute, assisted by Patrick Mullins and
Steven Mendoza. Mullins of New York City had a yellow card for persistent
infringement in the nineteenth minute. In the thirty-ninth minute, Michael
Bradley of Toronto had a yellow card for his foul. Toronto tied it on a
forty-second minute goal by Will Johnson, via Josh Williams and Mo Babouli. New
York City saw yellow cards assessed to Federico Bravo in the fifty-sixth
minute, Mix Diskerud in the seventieth minute, and David Villa in the
eighty-fifth minute, all for fouls. The game ended 1-1, with the man of the
match being Johnson for his equalizer to earn a draw.
Down in New Jersey, the New York
Red Bulls host the Chicago Fire. Sean Johnson and Luis Robles man the nets.
Joao Meira of Chicago had a yellow card for a twenty-second minute foul.
Aurelien Collin of New York took a yellow card for his foul in the twenty-ninth
minute. The Red Bulls struck first in the fifty-eighth minute with a Mike
Grella goal, assisted by Lloyd Sam and Bradley Wright-Phillips. The Fire had a
yellow card given to Brandon Vincent in the seventy-eighth minute. The game
ended 1-0, with Grella the man of the match for the winner.
