KHL 2016/17 - Day 135

Six games on the slate today, beginning with...

Amur Khabarovsk hosting Jokerit Helsinki. Ryan Zapolski and Juha Metsola are the goalies. Helsinki got going with a Brian O'Neill goal in the second period, made possible by Charles Genoway. Jokerit added on with a Peter Regin power play goal, powered by Genoway. Khabarovsk got on the board with a Teemu Ramstedt goal, assisted by Kristian Kuusela and Yury Nazarov. Amur tied it in the third period with a Nikita Kamalov goal, via Kirill Kapustin. Khabarovsk took the lead with a Vladislav Ushenin power play goal, with a lone assist by Vyacheslav Ushenin. This made it 3-2, the final, with the three stars going to Vladislav Ushenin, Kamalov, and Genoway.

Down in Vladivostok, Admiral welcomes Dinamo Minsk. Ben Scrivens and Maxim Tretyak are in the blue paint. Minsk led off in the first period with an Aaron Palushaj goal, coming off of Matt Ellison and Evgeny Lisovets. Dinamo added on with an Alexander Kitarov goal, guided in by Andrei Stepanov and Artyom Volkov. Nikita Serebryakov replaced Tretyak in goal. Minsk extended the lead as Marc-Andre Gragnani scored, thanks to Alexander Materukhin and Sergei Drozd. Vladivostok got on the board with a Mikhail Plotnikov goal, going in unassisted. Dinamo replied in the second period with a Stepanov goal, made possible by Volkov and Kitarov. Admiral pulled back on an unassisted Dmitry Sayustov power play goal. Minsk countered with an Andrei Stas goal, helped along by Drozd. Vladivostok got one back with a Pavel Makarenko goal in the third period, going in unassisted. The final remained at 5-3, with the three stars going to Stepanov, Kitarov, and Volkov, while Drozd gets an honorable mention.

In China, Kunlun Red Star Beijing brings in Dinamo Riga. Jakub Sedlacek and Tomi Karhunen draw the starts in goal. Riga began in the first period with an Oskars Cibulskis power play goal, powered by Filipp Toluzakov. Dinamo added on with a Georgs Golovkovs goal, passed from Roberts Lipsbergs and Edgars Kulda. Riga extended the lead as Gints Meija scored, thanks to Mikelis Redlihs and Kristaps Zile. Beijing got on the board with a Martin Bakos power play goal in the third period, via Tomi Sallinen. Kunlun Red Star pulled closer with a Tuukka Mantyla power play goal, assisted by Joonas Jarvinen and Linus Videll. Beijing tied it as Chad Rau scored, with the help of Bakos. In the shootout, Bakos was topped by Meija, Lauris Darzins, and Toluzakov. The three stars of the 4-3 Dinamo win were Toluzakov, Bakos, and Meija.

Out in Kazakhstan, Barys Astana hosts Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Andrei Gavrilov and Kevin Poulin man the nets. Ufa opened in the first period with a Tomas Mertl power play goal, powered by Sami Lepisto and Alexander Loginov. Astana tied it on a second period Nigel Dawes goal, fueled by Brandon Bochenski and Kevin Dallman. Barys took the lead with a Kirll Panyukov goal, via Alexander Lipin. Astana added on with a Dawes goal, coming off of Dustin Boyd and Bochenski. Salavat Yulaev pulled back with a Maxim Mayorov power play goal, courtesy of Denis Kulyash. Ufa tied it with an Alexander Nesterov goal, helped along by Evgeny Korotkov. Barys won 4-3 in overtime on a Dallman goal, made possible by Dawes and Bochenski, the latter earning a sock trick. The three stars were awarded to Dawes, Dallman, and Bochenski.

Up in Yaroslavl, Lokomotiv welcomes Lada Togliatti. Edgars Masalskis and Alexander Sudnitsin are in the creases. Yaroslavl started in the first period with a Petri Kontiola goal, via Brandon Kozun and Maxime Talbot. Togliatti tied it on a Nikita Filatov goal, helped along by Andrei Ivanov. Lokomotiv pulled back ahead with an unassisted Alexander Kadeikin goal. Lada tied it again with an Anton Shenfeld goal, coming off of Georgy Belousov and Alexei Mastryukov. Yaroslavl took the lead back in the second period with a Pavel Koledov goal, courtesy of Yegor Averin. Lokomotiv iced it at 4-2 with an empty net goal by Andrei Loktionov, set up by Averin. The three stars were Koledov, Averin, and Kadeikin.

Finally, in Moscow, Dynamo brings in Ak Bars Kazan. Emil Garipov and Alexander Yeryomenko tend the twines. Kazan struck first in the first period with a Mikhail Sidorov goal, assisted by Mikhail Varnakov. Ak Bars added on with a Mikhail Glukhov goal in the third period, passed from Andrei Popov. Moscow got on the board with a Martins Karsums goal, via Konstantin Gorovikov and Maxim Karpov. This only made it 2-1, the final, with the three stars going to Glukhov, Garipov (34 for 35 in saves), and Sidorov.
