KHL 2016/17 - Day 136

Just three games on today, a light schedule beginning with...

Traktor Chelyabinsk hosting Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Ivan Lisutin and Pavel Francouz man the nets. Yekaterinburg won 1-0 with a Stanislav Chistov goal in overtime, going in unassisted. The three stars were Chistov, Lisutin (42 save shutout), and Francouz (36 for 37 in saves).

In Moscow, Spartak welcomes Slovan Bratislava. Barry Brust and Markus Svensson are the goalies. Bratislava opened in the first period with an Igor Musatov goal, via Nick Plastino and Ziga Jeglic. Slovan added on in the second period with another Musatov goal, helped along by Plastino and Kyle Chipchura. Bratislava extended the lead as Tomas Kundratek scored, thanks to Jonathan Cheechoo on the power play. This made it 3-0, the final, with the three stars going to Musatov, Brust (23 save shutout), and Plastino.

Finally, Medvescak Zagreb brings in Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk. Alexander Sharychenkov and Michael Garnett are in the creases. Zagreb started in the first period with a Colby Genoway power play goal, powered by Mark Katic and Francis Pare. Medvescak added on with another Genoway power play goal, made possible by Pare and Jakub Krejcik. Zagreb extended the lead in the second period as Kirill Voronin scored a power play goal, with the help of Derek Smith and Lukas Lessio. Medvescak padded the lead in the third period on a Jiri Smejkal goal, assisted by Lessio and Mike Glumac. Khanty-Mansiysk got on the board with a Pavel Valentenko goal, helped along by Andrei Alexeyev and Evgeny Lapenkov. This made it 4-1, the final, with the three stars going to Genoway, Pare, and Lessio.
