NWSL Championship 2017

The North Carolina Courage and Portland Thorns meet in Orlando for the NWSL Championship this year. Adrianna Franch and Katelyn Rowland protect the nets. Portland saw yellow cards for fouls by Tobin Heath in the forty-first minute and Hayley Raso in first half stoppage time. The Thorns struck first in the fiftieth minute on a Lindsey Horan goal, via Emily Sonnett on a free kick. In the seventy-second minute, Dagny Brynjarsdottir of Portland had a yellow card for her foul. The final held at 1-0, with Horan named NWSL Championship MVP for her winning goal.
