New York City struck first in the twelfth minute with an Ismael Tajouri goal. New York City added on with a Maximiliano Moralez penalty kick goal in the thirtieth minute. Kyle Beckerman of Salt Lake had a yellow card for dissent in the thirty-second minute. New York City extended the lead as Jo Inge Berget scored in the forty-first minute, thanks to Jesus Medina and Ronald Matarrita. New York City padded the lead on an Ebenezer Ofori goal in the seventieth minute, passed from Moralez and Medina. The final held from here at 4-0, with the man of the match being Moralez.
