The NHL regular season ends quietly with the Boston Bruins hosting the Florida Panthers in a make-up game. James Reimer and Tuukka Rask start in goal. Florida struck first in the first period with a Henrik Borgstrom goal, passed from Frank Vatrano. Boston tied it on a David Backes goal, his fourteenth of the season, coming off of Kevan Miller and David Krejci. The Panthers took the lead back with a Vatrano goal, his seventh of the year, assisted by Jared McCann and Jamie McGinn. Florida added on in the second period with a Maxim Mamin goal, his third of the season, courtesy of Denis Malgin and Keith Yandle. The Bruins got one back in the third period with a David Pastrnak power play goal, his thirty-fifth of the year, powered by Patrice Bergeron and Ryan Donato. The Panthers capped it at 4-2 with an Evgenii Dadonov goal, his twenty-eighth of the campaign, helped along by McCann. The three stars were Vatrano, McCann, and Mamin.
