The Nashville Predators welcoming the Calgary Flames. David Rittich and Pekka Rinne are the goalies. Nashville led off in the first period with a Nick Bonino goal, his seventh of the season, helped along by Craig Smith and Ryan Ellis. The Predators added on with an Austin Watson goal, his second of the year, via Colton Sissons and Matt Irwin. Calgary got on the board with a Derek Ryan goal, his second of the season, passed from Matthew Tkachuk and Noah Hanifin. Nashville replied in the second period with a shorthanded Calle Jarnkrok goal, his fourth of the year, set up by Watson. The Predators extended the lead as Jarnkrok scored another shorthanded goal, his second of the game and fifth of the season, thanks to Watson. The Flames pulled one back on a Rasmus Andersson goal in the third period, his second of the year, guided in by Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. Calgary got closer on an Elias Lindholm goal, his ninth of the season, with a lone helper from Monahan. The Flames tied it as Alan Quine scored, with the help of Mark Giordano and Ryan. Nashville reclaimed the lead with Watson's second of the game and third of the year, fueled by Sissons and Mattias Ekholm. Calgary retied it on a Tkachuk goal, his fifth of the season, made possible by Monahan and Gaudreau. The Flames won 6-5 in overtime with Tkachuk's second of the game and sixth of the year, assisted by Lindholm and T.J. Brodie. The three stars were Tkachuk, Watson, and Monahan, while Lindholm, Ryan, Gaudreau, Jarnkrok, and Sissons all get honorable mentions.
Out west, the Vegas Golden Knights bring in the Montreal Canadiens. Keith Kinkaid is mismatched with Marc-Andre Fleury in goal. Montreal began in the first period with a Phillip Danault goal, his fifth of the season, via Shea Weber and Tomas Tatar. Vegas tied it with a William Karlsson goal, his fourth of the year, fueled by Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith. The Golden Knights took the lead on an Alex Tuch goal, assisted by Nate Schmidt and Cody Eakin. The Canadiens retied it in the second period with a Jonathan Drouin goal, his seventh of the season, coming off of Mike Reilly and Max Domi. The Golden Knights retook the lead with a third period Cody Glass goal, his third of the year, passed from Eakin. Vegas added on with a Mark Stone goal, his eighth of the season, with a lone helper from Max Pacioretty. Montreal pulled back with an unassisted Tatar goal, his fourth of the year. The Canadiens tied it as Brendan Gallagher scored his seventh of the season, thanks to Joel Armia. Montreal won 5-4 in overtime on a Domi goal, his fourth of the year, fueled by Jeff Petry. The three stars went to Domi, Tatar, and Eakin.
