There are only three games on tonight. First off, the New Jersey Devils host the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jonas Gustavsson and Martin Brodeur play between the pipes. Toronto opened with a Joey Crabb goal, assisted by Matthew Lombardi and John-Michael Liles. New Jersey replied with a Dainius Zubrus goal, his third of the season coming on the power play from Adam Henrique. The Maple Leafs regained the lead with Mikhail Grabovski potting his fifth of the year, courtesy of Jake Gardiner and the goalie Gustavsson. The Devils got another equalizer in the second period with Patrik Elias potting his fifth of the season, a power play goal powered by Adam Larsson and Ilya Kovalchuk. Toronto again took the lead back as Joffrey Lupul netted his sixth of the year, with help from Mike Komisarek and Gardiner. New Jersey tied it again as the third of the season by David Clarkson found twine, and he was aided by Nick Palmieri and Brad Mills. The Maple leafs made it 5-3 as Lupul notched two more goals for a hat trick, his seventh and eighth of the year helped along by Phil Kessel both times, and Tim Connolly and Grabovski for the other assists. This was a final, leaving the three stars for Lupul, Kessel, and Elias, and honrable mention to Grabovski and Connolly.
Also, the Buffalo Sabres host the Philadelphia Flyers. Ilya Bryzgalov and Ryan Miller were called on for the starts, but Miller was soon relieved by Jhonas Enroth. Sean Couturier opened for Philadelphia with his third of the season, courtesy of Andreas Lilja and Jakub Voracek. The Flyers added on thirteen seconds later as James van Riemsdyk notched his fifth of the year, thanks to Zac Rinaldo. Philadelphia put Miller out of his misery on Scott Hartnell's fifth of the season, coming off of Claude Giroux and Jaromir Jagr. Buffalo got to work in the second period on an Andrej Sekera goal, made possible by Jordan Leopold and Luke Adam. Adam made it 3-2 in the third period, notching his fourth of the year for the Sabres, with the help of Thomas Vanek and Json Pominville. This was a final, and the three stars were awarded to van Riemsdyk, Adam, and Jagr, although any other goal scorers would fit fine here.
Finally, the Colorado Avalanche hosted the Phoenix Coyotes. Mike Smith opposed Semyon Varlamov in the twines. Phoenix opened on a Taylor Pyatt goal, his second of the season assisted by Derek Morris and Boyd Gordon. The Coyotes extended the lead in the second period on the fourth of the year by Radim Vrbata, courtesy of Martin Hanzal and Ray Whitney. Colorado got it back quickly with the second of the season for Ryan O'Reilly, via Daniel Winnik and Ryan O'Byrne. Phoenix replied in the third period on a Lauri Korpikoski goal, his third of the campaign, with helpers provided by David Schlemko and Rostislav Klesla. The Coyotes iced it at 4-1 with the second of the game and fifth of the year for Vrbata, an empty net goal made possible by Whitney and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. This was a final score, and the three stars went to Smith (39 for 40 in saves), O'Reilly, and Vrbata, with honors to Whitney.

NHL Day 27 2011-2012
There are five games on tonight in the hockey world.
Leading off, the Boston Bruins host the Ottawa Senators. Craig Anderson and Tim Thomas will play goal. Ottawa struck first with a Nick Foligno goal, his third of the season, courtesy of Stephane Da Costa and Bobby Butler. Boston replied with Milan Lucic netting a power play goal, his fourth of the year, powered by Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg. Da Costa put the Senators back ahead with his third of the season, coming off of Foligno and Chris Neil. The Bruins retied it in the second period with Patrice Bergeron notching his third of the year, thanks to Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand. Boston took the lead with Chris Kelly sinking his third of the season, with helpers provided by Rich Peverley and Chara. Ottawa retied the game in the third period on a Jared Cowen goal from Neil and Foligno. The Bruins gained the lead back with a Johnny Boychuk goal, via Kelly and Jordan Caron. Boston made it 5-3 on a Daniel Paille goal, his second of the year from Shawn Thornton and Gregory Campbell. Down to Raleigh, where the Carolina Hurricanes host the Tampa Bay Lightning. Dwayne Roloson and Cam Ward put on the masks. Tampa Bay opened the scoring with a Teddy Purcell goal, his fourth of the season, fueled by Marc Andre Bergeron and Ryan Malone. Carolina tied it on a Chad LaRose goal, his second of the year, a power play goal, courtesy of Jay Harrison and Alexei Ponikarovsky. The Hurricanes made it 3-1 with a pair of goals from Jeff Skinner, his fifth and sixth of the campaign, with only two assists being awarded, going to Joni Pitkanen and Jussi Jokinen. The Lightning got one back in the third period with Brett Connolly's goal, thanks to Martin St. Louis and Vincent Lecavalier. Carolina made it 4-2 with another LaRose goal, his second of the game and third of the season, with Jiri Tlusty picking up the lone assist. The final was 4-2, and Skinner, LaRose, and Ward (28 for 30 in saves) were the three stars.
Moving northwest to Detroit, where the Red Wings welcomed the Minnesota Wild. Josh Harding opposed Jimmy Howard in front of the cages. Nicklas Lidstrom gave Detroit an early lead with his third of the season, via Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk. Minnesota tied it late in the third period with Mikko Koivu's goal coming off of Justin Falk and Devin Setoguchi. The tie was broken by Setoguchi in overtime, on his fourth of the year, a power play goal made possible by Koivu and Pierre-Marc Bouchard, for a 2-1 Wild win. The three stars were Setoguchi, Harding (36 for 37 in saves), and Datsyuk, with honorable mention to Lidstrom and Koivu.
Moving back toward the east, the Washington Capitals host the traveling Anaheim Ducks. Jonas Hiller and Tomas Vokoun play in the blue paint. Saku Koivu led off the scoring for Anaheim, and was assisted by Teemu Selanne and Cam Fowler. Selanne extended the Ducks lead with his fourth of the season, courtesy of Koivu and Toni Lydman. Selanne added on in the second period for Anaheim with his second of the game and fifth of the year, via Fowler and Francois Beauchemin. Washington got on the board with Joel Ward netting his third of the season, thanks to Brooks Laich and Jason Chimera. The Capitals cut the deficit with a Dennis Wideman goal, his third of the year, with helpers by Laich and Ward. The Ducks made it 4-2 with a Corey Perry power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by Fowler and Selanne, the former finishing a sock trick. Washington got it back as Troy Brouwer registered his second of the year, with the assistance of John Erskine and Wideman. The Capitals tied it late on a Nicklas Backstrom goal, his third of the season, guided in by Chimera and Laich, the latter wrapping up a sock trick. Backstrom gave Washington the win in overtime on his second of the game and fourth of the year, with helpers from Jeff Schultz and Alex Ovechkin for a 5-4 win. The Canucks kept rolling in the second period on Cody Hodgson's third of the year, made possible by Maxim Lapierre and Dale Weise. Edler added on for Vancouver with his third of the season, and Hodgson and David Booth tallied assists to make it 5-0. Calgary avoided the shutout in the last minute as Alex Tanguay sank his second of the year, with the help of Tom Kostopoulos and Chris Butler for a 5-1 final. Monday Night Football week 8
This week we have the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the San Diego Chargers. Kansas City led off with a field goal by Ryan Succop, a 36 yard kick. The Chiefs added on as Matt Cassel found Jonathan Baldwin or 39 yards and a touchdown, and Succop added the extra point. San Diego got on the board in the second quarter with Nick Novak making a 44 yard field goal. Succop made it 13-3 Kansas City at the half with a 47 yard field goal. Novak gave the Chargers three field goals in the third quarter, good from 44, 42, and 26 yards. The Chiefs regained control in the fourth quarter, making it 20-12 with a Jackie Battle touchdown run of 1 yard, and Succop's PAT. San Diego managed a tie when Curtis Brinkley rushed 2 yards for a touchdown, and Philip Rivers then passed to him to convert the two point attempt. The tie lasted into overtime, where Succop won it for Kansas City on a 30 yard field goal. Both teams are now 4-3.

There are three games on this Halloween. We begin in New York City, where the Rangers host the San Jose Sharks. Antti Niemi and Martin Biron are called on to start. New York led off with a Ryan McDonagh goal, his third of the season, fueled by Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi. The Rangers added on with Derek Stepan's goal, courtesy of Brandon Dubinsky and Girardi on the power play. San Jose got on the board with Joe Pavelski putting away his eighth of the year, thanks to Douglas Murray and Joe Thornton. The Sharks tied it in the second period as Logan Couture struck with his fourth of the season, coming off of Pavelski and Marc-Edouard Vlasic. New York retook the lead with Callahan netting a power play goal, his fourth of the year, powered by Erik Christensen and Dubinsky. The Rangers extended the lead as Artem Anisimov scored, with the help of Christensen and Jeff Woywitka. New York made it 5-2 as Callahan tallied again, his second of the game and fifth of the season, made possible by Brad Richards. After a scoreless third period, this was a final, with the three stars being Callahan, Dubinsky, and Girardi, and honorable mentions going to Pavelski and Christensen.

Winnipeg struck first with a Kyle Wellwood goal, his fifth of the season, courtesy of Andrew Ladd and Mark Stuart. The Jets extended the lead with Evander Kane converting a power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Nik Antropov and Zach Bogosian. Florida got on the board late in the period as Jason Garrison notched his fifth of the season, guided in by Brian Campbell's tenth assist and Tomas Fleischmann. After a scoreless second period, the Panthers tied it on a Fleischmann goal, his fourth of the year via Mike Weaver and Kris Versteeg. Florida took the lead with another Flesichmann goal, his second of the night and fifth of the season, a power play goal from Dmitry Kulikov and Brian Campbell. Winnipeg managed to tie the game at 3 with Kane's second of the night and fourth of the year, assisted by Wellwood and Bogosian. The tie was broken in the shootout with Ladd and Wellwood securing a 4-3 win for the Jets. Sunday Night game week 8
This week's Sunday night game has the Philadelphia Eagles hosting NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. Philadelphia struck first with Michael Vick throwing a 12 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, and Alex Henery tacked on the extra point. The Eagles added on with LeSean McCoy rushing 2 yards for a touchdown, and Henery kicked another extra point. Philadelpia continued to attack in the second quarter, with Vick tossing 9 yards to Brent Celek for a touchdown, and Henery's extra point made it 21-0. Henery also kicked a 23 yard field goal for the Eagles, making it 24-0 at halftime. Philadelphia kept rolling in the third quarter, with Henery kicking a 26 yard field goal. The Eagles added on in the fourth quarter with McCoy rushing in another touchdown from 13 yards out and Henery nailed the PAT. Dallas finally joined the party with Tony Romo passing 70 yards to Laurent Robinson for a touchdown, and Dan Bailey finally got to kick an extra point. This left the score at 34-7, which would be the final. Both teams are now 3-4.
