The Winnipeg Jets hosting the Minnesota Wild. Darcy Kuemper and Michael Hutchinson are the young goalies. Minnesota led off in the first period on a Jason Zucker goal, made possible by Jonas Brodin just ten seconds into the game. Winnipeg tied it with a Bryan Little goal, his fourth of the season, coming off of Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler. The Jets took the lead on a Ladd goal, his second of the year, assisted by Little and Wheeler. Winnipeg added on with a Nikolaj Ehlers goal, his third of the season, passed from Mark Scheifele and Mathieu Perreault. The Jets extended the lead in the second period on a Drew Stafford goal, his fourth of the year, courtesy of Adam Lowry and Jacob Trouba. Devan Dubnyk replaced Kuemper in goal. Winnipeg padded the lead on a Stafford goal, his second of the game and fifth of the season, guided in by Dustin Byfuglien and Toby Enstrom. The Wild got one back on a Mikko Koivu power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Mikael Granlund and Jason Pominville. Minnesota pulled closer with a Justin Fontaine goal, fueled by Thomas Vanek. The Wild got even closer in the third period on a Zach Parise goal, his seventh of the campaign, going in unassisted. They failed to tie it, losing 5-4. The three stars went to Stafford, Ladd, and Little, while Wheeler gets an honorable mention.
Into New York, where the Rangers welcome the Calgary Flames. Jonas Hiller and Antti Raanta are in the creases. Calgary started in the first period on a Jiri Hudler goal, his third of the season, assisted by Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. New York tied it in the second period with an Oscar Lindberg goal, his fifth of the year, passed from Kevin Hayes and Marc Staal. The Rangers took the lead with a Dan Girardi goal, guided in by Emerson Etem and Jarret Stoll. New York added on in the third period on a Kevin Klein goal, his second of the season, going in unassisted. The Rangers extended the lead as Derick Brassard scored his third of the year, thanks to Jesper Fast and Ryan McDonagh. The final held at 4-1, with the three stars being Girardi, Raanta (22 for 23 in saves), and Klein.
Finally, the Edmonton Oilers bring in the Los Angeles Kings. Jonathan Quick and Cam Talbot are between the pipes. Edmonton began with a first period goal by Benoit Pouliot, his second of the season, assisted by Connor McDavid and Nail Yakupov. Los Angeles tied it on a Jeff Carter goal, his third of the year, with assists provided by Milan Lucic and Drew Doughty. The Kings took the lead on Anze Kopitar's third of the season in the second period, via Kyle Clifford and Jordan Nolan. The Oilers retied it on a Taylor Hall power play goal, his third of the year, powered by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Oscar Klefbom in the third period. Los Angeles regained the lead on a Tanner Pearson power play goal, helped along by Jake Muzzin and Doughty. This made it 3-2, the final, with the three stars going to Doughty, Pearson, and Kopitar.
