Moscow dented the scoreboard in the third period on a Dmitry Kugryshev power play goal, powered by Nikita Zaitsev and Alexander Radulov. CSKA added on with a Zaitsev goal, with a lone assist by Bogdan Kiselevich. Moscow extended the lead with a Mikhail Naumenkov goal, via Roman Lyubimov. The final stayed at 3-0, with the three stars going to Zaitsev, Kugryshev, and Fasth (13 save shutout).
Down in Kazakhstan, Barys Astana welcomes Severstal Cherepovets. Roman Smiryagin is mismatched with Jan Laco in goal. Astana opened with a first period goal by Maxim Semyonov, via Maxim Khudyakov. Barys added on with a Brandon Bochenski goal, courtesy of Mike Lundin and Dustin Boyd on the power play. Astana extended the lead in the second period as Konstantin Pushkaryov scored, thanks to Vadim Krasnoslobodtsev and Kevin Dallman. Cherepovets got on the board with a Dmitry Kagarlitsky goal, passed from Sergei Kuptsov and Igor Skorokhodov. Severstal pulled closer with a Daniil Vovchenko power play goal in the third period, powered by Dinar Khamidullin and Skorokhodov. Pavel Poluektov replaced an injured Laco, but a minute later, Cherepovets tied it on a power play goal by Anatoly Nikontsev, assisted by Yury Trubachyov and Vovchenko. Barys won 4-3 with a Bochenski goal in overtime, fueled by Dallman and Boyd. The three stars went to Bochenski, Vovchenko, and Dallman, while Boyd and Skorokhodov get the honorable mentions.
Back in Russia, Lada Togliatti brings in Amur Khabarovsk. Alexander Pechursky and Edgars Masalskis are in the creases. Khabarovsk led off in the first period with an Alexei Byvaltsev goal, guided in by Evgeny Kurbatov and Vladimir Pervushin. Togliatti tied it on a second period goal by Alexander Bumagin, passed from Igor Magogin and Martin Zatovic. Lada took the lead with an unassisted Stanislav Romanov goal in the third period. Togliatti added on as Zatovic scored, thanks to Dmitry Vorobyov. Lada extended the lead on an empty net goal by Anton Shenfeld. This made it a 4-1 final, with the three stars given to Zatovic, Masalskis (28 for 29 in saves), and Romanov.
South to Sochi, with the Leopards hosting Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Vladislav Podyapolsky and Dmitry Shikin are the masked men. Novokuznetsk started with a first period goal by Ilya Musin, made possible by Vadim Mitryakov. Sochi tied it on an Igor Ignatushkin goal, courtesy of Andrei Kostitsyn and Janne Jalasvaara. Metallurg retook the lead in the third period with an unassisted goal from Kirill Lebedev. The Leopards tied it on a Kostitsyn goal, coming off of Sergei Kuznetsov. Novokuznetsk won 3-2 in overtime on a Robert Kousal power play goal, powered by Roman Manukhov. The three stars were handed to Kostitsyn, Kousal, and Podyapolsky (40 for 42 in saves).
North again to Yaroslavl, where Lokomotiv welcomes Sibir Novosibirsk. Alexander Salak and Alexei Murygin tend the twines. Yaroslavl got going in the first period on a Petri Kontiola goal, assisted by Yegor Averin and Daniil Apalkov. Lokomotiv added on with a Denis Mosalyov shorthanded goal, set up by Andrei Loktionov. This held up for a 2-0 win, with the three stars going to Murygin (16 save shutout), Kontiola, and Mosalyov.
Finally, Ak Bars Kazan brings in Admiral Vladivostok. Igor Bobkov and Emil Garipov draw the starts in goal. Kazan began in the first period on a Stepan Zakharchuk goal, fueled by Artyom Lukoyanov and Vladimir Tkachyov. Vladivostok tied it on a Yegor Dugin goal, via Oskars Bartulis and David Booth. Admiral took the lead with an Alexander Kuznetsov goal, guided in by Bartulis and Konstantin Makarov. Ak Bars tied it on an Albert Yarullin power play goal, powered by Justin Azevedo. Vladivostok took the lead back as Mikhail Fisenko scored, thanks to Alexander Gorshkov and Dmitry Lugin. This stood for a 3-2 win, with the three stars going to Bartulis, Fisenko, and Bobkov (26 for 28 in saves).
