Only two games on for a slow day in the KHL. The first is...
Avangard Omsk hosting Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk. Georgy Gelashvili and Dominik Furch are in goal. Omsk led off in the first period with a Pyotr Khokhryakov goal, via Anton Burdasov. Khanty-Mansiysk tied it in the third period with an Artyom Bulyansky goal, passed from Yakov Seleznyov and Evgeny Khvostov. Yugra won 2-1 in overtime on a Vitaly Sitnikov goal, courtesy of Seleznyov and Evgeny Orlov. The three stars were Seleznyov, Gelashvili (31 for 32 in saves), and Sitnikov.
The other game sees Barys Astana host Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Igor Ustinsky and Pavel Poluektov are in the blue paint. Yekaterinburg began in the first period on a Vitaly Popov goal, assisted by Eero Elo and Ondrej Roman on the power play. Avtomobilist added on with an Anatoly Golyshev goal, fueled by Petr Koukal and Artyom Gareyev. Astana got on the board in the second period with a Kevin Dallman goal, coming off of Mike Lundin and Dustin Boyd. Barys tied it on a Roman Starchenko goal, guided in by Roman Savchenko and Maxim Semyonov. Yekaterinburg retook the lead in the third period with a Koukal goal, helped along by Gareyev and Alexei Vasilevsky. Astana retied it on a Boyd goal, made possible by Martin St. Pierre and Brandon Bochenski. Barys took the lead with a Bochenski goal, with helpers from Lundin and St. Pierre. The three stars went to Bochenski, Boyd, and Koukal, while Gareyev, Lundin, and St. Pierre get the honorable mentions.
