Admiral Vladivostok hosting Metallurg Magnitogorsk. Vasily Koshechkin and Igor Bobkov are in goal. Vladivostok started in the first period on a Konstantin Makarov goal, passed from Artyom Podshendyalov. Admiral added on with a Makarov power play goal in the second period, powered by Jonathon Blum and Oskars Bartulis. This stood for a 2-0 win, with the three stars given to Makarov, Bobkov (22 save shutout), and Koshechkin (33 for 35 in saves).
Up to Khabarovsk, where Amur welcomes Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Niklas Svedberg and Juha Metsola are the goalies. Ufa opened in the first period with a Nikolai Prokhorkin power play goal, powered by Dmitry Makarov and Teemu Hartikainen. Khabarovsk tied it on a Niclas Bergfors power play goal, assisted by Akim Aliu and Tomas Zohorna. Amur took the lead on another Bergfors power play goal in the second period, fueled by Dmitry Tarasov and Zohorna. Salavat Yulaev replied with a Prokhorkin power play goal, his second of the game, via Ivan Vishnevsky and Hartikainen. Khabarovsk took the lead back with a Rinat Ibragimov goal, guided in by Evgeny Grachyov. Amur added on with a Jan Kolar goal, with a lone assist by Pavel Dedunov. Ufa shot back on a Hartikainen goal, helped along by Prokhorkin. Salavat Yulaev tied it as Prokhorkin completed his hat trick on a power play goal, with the help of Vishnevsky and Makarov. Alexander Pechursky replaced Metsola in goal. Khabarovsk won 5-4 in overtime with a Vladislav Ushenin goal, coming off of Kolar and Aliu. The three stars went to Kolar, Prokhorkin, and Bergfors, while Makarov, Hartikainen, Aliu, Zohorna, and Vishnevsky get the honorable mentions.
Over in Novokuznetsk, Metallurg brings in Traktor Chelyabinsk. Pavel Francouz and Andrei Kareyev are in the creases. Novokuznetsk struck first in the first period with a Fyodor Polishchuk goal, courtesy of Kirill Lebedev and Robert Kousal. Chelyabinsk tied it on a Vyacheslav Osnovin goal, passed from Ilya Zinovyev and Martin Ruzicka. Metallurg took the lead back in the third period with a Polishchuk goal, his second of the game, with a lone assist from Kousal. Traktor tied it on a Filip Novak power play goal, powered by Yegor Martynov and Alexander Rybakov. Chelyabinsk took the lead on an Osnovin goal, his second of the game, made possible by Semyon Kokuyov. The final stood at 3-2, with the three stars going to Osnovin, Polishchuk, and Kousal.
Nearby, Sibir Novosibirsk hosts Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. Ivan Lisutin and Alexander Salak man the nets. Novosibirsk dented the scoreboard in the third period on a Viktor Bobrov goal, via Sergei Gimayev and Alexei Kopeikin. Nizhnekamsk tied it on an Evgeny Grigorenko goal, passed from Jeff Taffe. Sibir took a late 2-1 lead on a Maxim Shalunov goal, with a lone assist by Stepan Sannikov. This was the final, and the three stars were Salak (20 for 21 in saves), Shalunov, and Bobrov.
Westward to Nizhny Novgorod, with Torpedo welcoming Ak Bars Kazan. Stanislav Galimov and Ilya Proskuryakov are the solid goalies. Kazan got going in the second period on a Vladimir Tkachyov penalty shot goal, which he received after being hooked by Alexei Pepelyayev. Ak Bars added on with an Oscar Moller goal in the third period, courtesy of Konstantin Korneyev and Justin Azevedo. Nizhny Novgorod got on the board with a Nikolai Zherdev goal, passed from Stanislav Yegorshev. Torpedo tied it on a Kirill Koltsov power play goal, powered by Artyom Alyayev and Zherdev. Torpedo tallied thrice in the shootout, with goals from Alexander Frolov, Kaspars Daugavins, and Zherdev topping Tkachyov's goal for a 3-2 Torpedo win. The three stars were Zherdev, Tkachyov, and Koltsov.
In Podolsk, Vityaz brings in SKA St. Petersburg. Igor Shestyorkin and Igor Saprykin are the unknown goalies. Podolsk was first to score on a Vyacheslav Solodukhin power play goal in the first period, coming off of Anton Korolyov and Yury Koksharov. Vityaz added on with a Solodukhin goal, his second of the game, fueled by Georgy Berdyukov and Koksharov. St. Petersburg got on the board with a Steve Moses power play goal in the second period, powered by Pavel Buchnevich and Sergei Shirokov. SKA tied it on an Evgeny Dadonov goal, guided in by Roman Rukavishnikov. St. Petersburg took the lead in the third period with a Vadim Shipachyov goal, assisted by Nikita Gusev. SKA iced it at 4-2 with a Shirokov empty net goal, set up by Moses and Vyacheslav Voynov. The three stars went to Moses, Solodukhin, and Shirokov, while Koksharov gets an honorable mention.
East a bit to Cherepovets, where Severstal hosts the Sochi Leopards. Konstantin Barulin and Sergei Magarilov are the masked men. Severstal added on with an Igor Skorokhodov goal, passed from Yury Trubachyov and Sergei Demagin in the second period. Sochi got on the board with a Dmitry Kazionov goal in the third period, courtesy of Evgeny Skachkov and Andre Petersson. The Leopards tied it on a Clay Wilson goal, via Petersson and Ilya Krikunov. In the shootout, Severstal's Chernov scored to give them a 3-2 win. The three stars were Chernov, Petersson, and Skorokhodov.
Into Moscow, with CSKA welcoming Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. Alexei Murygin and Ilya Sorokin draw the starts in goal. Moscow opened in the first period on an Antti Pihlstrom goal, via Mikhail Naumenkov. CSKA added on with a Geoff Platt power play goal, powered by Nikita Zaitsev and Stephane Da Costa. Moscow extended the lead as Dmitry Kugryshev scored, thanks to Alexander Radulov. CSKA padded the lead in the second period on another Platt goal, helped along by Zaitsev and Jan Mursak. The final held at 4-0, with the three stars being Platt, Sorokin (28 save shutout), and Zaitsev.
Out to Slovakia, with Slovan Bratislava bringing in Jokerit Helsinki. Henrik Karlsson and Barry Brust occupy the blue paint. Bratislava started in the first period on a Vaclav Nedorost goal, helped along by Lukas Kaspar and Marek Viedensky. Helsinki tied it in the second period on an unassisted Topi Jaakola goal. Slovan took the lead back on a Rok Ticar goal, courtesy of Michal Sersen. Jokerit retied it in the third period with a Daine Todd goal, with a lone helper by Peter Regin. Bratislava pulled ahead on another Nedorost goal, assisted by Tomas Kundratek. Slovan iced it at 4-2 with a Kaspar empty net goal, set up by Nedorost. The three stars were awarded to Nedorost, Kaspar, and Brust (27 for 29 in saves).
Along to Minsk, where Dinamo welcomes Lada Togliatti. Edgars Masalskis and Kevin Lalande protect the nets. Minsk began in the first period on an Evgeny Lisovets goal, made possible by Alexander Materukhin and Andrei Stepanov. Togliatti tied it on a Viktor Komarov power play goal in the second period, powered by Georgy Belousov and Dmitry Vorobyov. Dinamo took the lead on a Jonathan Cheechoo power play goal, assisted by Ryan Gunderson and Alexei Kalyuzhny. Lada tied it again with an Igor Magogin goal, helped along by Martin Zatovic and Alexander Bumagin. In the shootout, Belousov's two goals with another by Anton Shenfeld lifted Lada 3-2 over Ryan Vesce and Stepanov of Dinamo. The three stars went to Belousov, Stepanov, and Magogin.
Finally, Dinamo Riga brings in Medvescak Zagreb. Danny Taylor and Joacim Eriksson are between the pipes. Zagreb drew first blood in the first period on a Stefano Giliati goal, via Edwin Hedberg. Medvescak added on with a Thomas Larkin goal, courtesy of Tomas Mertl and Mark Katic. Riga got on the board in the third period with a Gints Meija goal, coming off of Kristaps Sotnieks. Zagreb answered with a Tuukka Mantyla goal, assisted by Hedberg and Mertl. Medvescak extended the lead as Gilbert Brule scored, thanks to Radek Smolenak. Zagreb padded the lead on a Smolenak goal, made possible by Mertl, who got a sock trick, and Colby Genoway. Dinamo pulled back with a Filipp Toluzakov goal, going in unassisted. Medvescak won 5-2, with the three stars being Smolenak, Mertl, and Hedberg.
