MLS 2018 Week 28

An abbreviated week sees only three games on Saturday, beginning with...

New York City FC hosting DC United. Bill Hamid and Sean Johnson play in goal. Anton Tinnerholm of New York City took a yellow card for a twenty-fourth minute foul. DC got going in the fifty-eighth minute on a Steve Birnbaum goal, passed from Wayne Rooney. New York City's Alexander Callens had a yellow card for dissent in the seventy-eighth minute. New York City tied it in the eighty-sixth minute with a David Villa goal. DC's Kofi Opare received a yellow card for a ninetieth minute foul. The final held at 1-1, with Villa named man of the match.

West to Kansas City, where Sporting welcomes Orlando City SC. Joe Bendik and Tim Melia are the solid keepers. Orlando City saw yellow cards for fouls by Chris Mueller in the thirty-eighth minute and Will Johnson in the forty-second minute. Kansas City dented the scoreboard in the fifty-third minute on a Felipe Gutierrez goal, coming off of Yohan Croizet. This stood for a 1-0 win, with the man of the match being Gutierrez.

Finally, the Portland Timbers bring in the Colorado Rapids. Tim Howard and Steve Clark are set to start in goal. Colorado's Johan Blomberg took a yellow card for a forty-third minute foul. Portland began in the forty-fifth minute on a Jeremy Ebobisse goal, via Sebastian Blanco. The Timbers added on in the sixty-fifth minute with a Diego Valeri goal, passed from Blanco. Portland's Samuel Armenteros had a yellow card for not retreating in the seventy-eighth minute. The final remained at 2-0, with the man of the match being Blanco.
