The penultimate week in women's soccer has just one game between the bottom two teams on the table. The Washington Spirit host Sky Blue FC on Sunday morning after a lightning delay wiped out the original Saturday night plans. Kailen Sheridan and Aubrey Bledsoe make the starts in goal. In the fifty-eighth minute, Sarah Killion of Sky Blue received a yellow card for a foul. Washington got going in the seventy-first minute with an Arielle Ship goal, after multiple shots by Francisca Ordega were blocked by Sheridan. Sky Blue tied it in the eighty-seventh minute with a Killion goal, set up by Madison Tiernan after a clever dummy from Shea Groom. The final remained at 1-0, with Killion as the woman of the match. Also good for Sky Blue were Domi Richardson, Mandy Freeman, Christina Gibbons, Tiernan, and Groom. The Spirit's best were Megan Crosson, Whitney Church, Havana Solaun, and Bledsoe (five for six in saves).
