MLS 2019 - Week 10

A full week of games begins on Friday in...

Colorado, as the Rapids host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Maxime Crepeau and Tim Howard are the goalies. Vancouver began in the 16th minute with a Fredy Montero goal, set up by Lass. The Whitecaps added on in the 26th minute with a Lucas Venuto goal, courtesy of Montero and Doneil Henry. Colorado got one back with a 38th minute penalty kick goal by Kei Kamara. The Rapids tied it on a Kamara penalty kick goal in the 53rd minute for his second of the night. Colorado went down to ten men in the 77th minute with a red card to Diego Rubio for violent conduct. Vancouver regained the lead in the 87th minute with an Andy Rose goal. The Rapids' Kellyn Acosta took a yellow card for a foul in the 89th minute. The final was 3-2, with Montero named man of the match.

On Saturday, the New York Red Bulls welcome the Los Angeles Galaxy. David Bingham and Luis Robles man the nets. New York led off in the 15th minute with an Amro Tarek goal. Los Angeles tied it on an Uriel Antuna goal, via Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diego Polenta. The Galaxy took the lead in the 43rd minute with an Ibrahimovic goal, assisted by Chris Pontius and Polenta. The Red Bulls retied it in the 59th minute with a Marc Rzatkowski goal, via Connor Lade. New York pulled ahead with a Derrick Etienne goal, helped along by Daniel Royer and Omir Fernandez. The final held at 3-2, with the man of the match being Ibrahimovic despite the loss.

Down in Texas, the Houston Dynamo bring in FC Dallas. Jose Luis Gonzalez and Joe Willis are in goal. Dallas' keeper Gonzalez took a yellow card for dissent in the 20th minute, and Houston opened with a penalty kick goal by Mauro Manotas in the same minute. Boniek Garcia of the Dynamo had a yellow card for a 27th minute foul. Michael Barrios of the Toros received a yellow card for a foul in first half stoppage time. Houston added on with a Manotas goal in the 58th minute, set up by Memo Rodriguez and Alberth Elis. Dallas saw yellow cards for Reggie Cannon in the 77th minute and Edwin Cerrillo in the 81st minute, both for fouls. The Toros got on the board with a Dominique Badji goal in the 87th minute, courtesy of Barrios and Santiago Mosquera. The Dynamo received yellow cards for Tommy McNamara in the 88th minute and Juan Cabezas' foul in second half stoppage time. The game ended 2-1, with Manotas named man of the match.

East to Florida, where Orlando City SC hosts Toronto FC. Quentin Westberg and Brian Rowe are set to start in goal. Toronto got going in the 65th minute with a Jonathan Osorio goal, via Michael Bradley. The Reds added on with a 77th minute Jay Chapman goal, courtesy of Alejandro Pozuelo. This stood for a 2-0 win, with the man of the match honors going to Osorio.

Way up north, the Montreal Impact welcome New York City FC. Sean Johnson and Evan Bush are the gloved men. New York City started in the 6th minute with a Maximiliano Moralez goal. Montreal saw yellow cards for fouls by Daniel Lovitz and Saphir Taider in the 31st and 40th minutes, respectively. The Pigeons added on in the 49th minute with an Ismael Tajouri-Shradi goal, coming off of Moralez. New York City had yellow cards for fouls by Moralez in the 54th minute and Alexander Ring in the 64th minute. The Pigeons won 2-0, and Moralez was the man of the match.

Back stateside, the Philadelphia Union bring in the New England Revolution. Cody Cropper and Carlos are the goalies. Philadelphia struck first in the 11th minute with a Jack Elliott goal, via Haris Medunjanin. Juan Fernando Caicedo of New England took a yellow card for not retreating in the 13th minute. Elliott of the Union had a yellow card for his 24th minute foul. The Revolution tied it in the 35th minute on a Caicedo goal, courtesy of Edgar Castillo. Philadelphia regained the lead on a 47th minute Ilsinho goal, assisted by Jamiro Monteiro. Fabrice-Jean Picault of the Union received a yellow card for a 63rd minute foul. In the 69th minute, Philadelphia added on with a Sergio Santos goal, guided in by Kai Wagner and Medunjanin. The Union extended the lead as Santos scored again in the 74th minute. Ilsinho of Philadelphia received a yellow card in the 77th minute. The Union padded the lead as Kacper Przybylko scored in the 82nd minute, thanks to Alejandro Bedoya and Ilsinho. Philadelphia kept going with a David Accam goal in the 88th minute to produce the 6-1 final score. The man of the match was Santos.

Along to the capital, as DC United hosts the Columbus Crew SC. Zack Steffen and Bill Hamid tend the nets. Wil Trapp of Columbus had a yellow card for a 26th minute foul. DC was first to score in the 27th minute with a Luciano Acosta. In first half stoppage time, the Crew's Federico Higuain took a yellow card for dissent and the Black and Red added on with a Wayne Rooney penalty kick goal. Junior Moreno of DC had a yellow card for his 53rd minute foul. The Black and Red extended the lead as Paul Arriola scored in the 61st minute, with the help of Leonardo Jara. Columbus got on the board when Hamid committed an own goal. This led to the 3-1 win for DC, with Arriola being the man of the match.

Out west, Minnesota United FC welcomes the Seattle Sounders FC. Stefan Frei and Vito Mannone protect the nets. Minnesota drew first blood in the 26th minute with an Ike Opara goal, set up by Jan Gregus. Seattle tied it on a Cristian Roldan goal in the 42nd minute. The Loons' Gregus took a yellow card for a foul in the 45th minute. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, with the man of the match being Roldan.

Next up, Real Salt Lake brings in the Portland Timbers. Steve Clark and Andrew Putna are the backups in goal. Portland cracked the scoresheet in the 34th minute on a Sebastian Blanco goal. Jorge Moreira of the Timbers had a yellow card for dissent in first half stoppage time. Salt Lake had a yellow card for Donny Toia's 48th minute foul. Real tied it in the 62nd minute on a Sam Johnson goal, made possible by Corey Baird and Nick Besler. Portland regained the lead on a Diego Valeri goal in the 68th minute. Salt Lake saw yellow cards for Besler in the 77th minute and Aaron Herrera in the 78th minute, both for fouls. The man of the match of the 2-1 win for the Timbers was Valeri.

In California, the San Jose Earthquakes host FC Cincinnati. Przemyslaw Tyton and Daniel Vega are between the sticks. Cincinnati's Caleb Stanko took a yellow card for a foul in the 6th minute. San Jose had yellow cards for fouls by Shea Salinas and Cristian Espinoza in the 13th and 15th minutes, respectively. The Earthquakes got going in the 22nd minute on a Nick Lima goal, set up by Espinoza. In the 29th minute, San Jose's Lima took a yellow card for a foul. The Orange and Blue saw a yellow card for Forrest Lasso's foul in the 31st minute. The Earthquakes went down to ten men in the 51st minute as Espinoza took a second yellow card for a foul. Fatai Alashe of Cincinnati received a yellow card for his 67th minute foul. The final held at 1-0, with the man of the match being Lima.

Saturday ends with Los Angeles FC welcoming the Chicago Fire. David Ousted and Tyler Miller are the reliable keepers. In the 25th minute, Jorge Corrales of Chicago and Steven Beitashour of Los Angeles both took yellow cards. Bastian Schweinsteiger of the Fire had a yellow card for a 41st minute foul. Chicago saw a yellow card for Przemyslaw Frankowski's time wasting in the 88th minute. The final remained at 0-0, with Ousted's four-save clean sheet making him the man of the match.

Finally, Sporting Kansas City brings in Atlanta United FC. Brad Guzan and Tim Melia guard the woodwork. Atlanta dented the scoreboard in the 39th minute on a Josef Martinez goal. The Five Stripes added on with an Ezequiel Barco goal in the 47th minute. In the 66th minute, Atlanta's Eric Remedi took a yellow card for a foul. The Five Stripes extended the lead in the 76th minute as Martinez scored, thanks to Barco. The final was 3-0, with Martinez picked as man of the match.
