The only midweek game for NWSL this week sees Sky Blue FC hosting the Chicago Red Stars. Alyssa Naeher and Kailen Sheridan protect the nets. Sky Blue's Kenie Wright took a yellow card for a 56th minute foul. In the 62nd minute, Chicago's Yuki Nagasato received a yellow card for a foul, as did teammate Katie Naughton in the 64th minute. Sky Blue got going in the 71st minute with a Paige Monaghan goal, assisted by Carli Lloyd. The Red Stars tied it in stoppage time on a Sam Kerr goal, set up by Yuki Nagasato. Sky Blue retook the lead just minutes later with another Monaghan goal, coming off of Julie James Doyle. This stood for a 2-1 win, with Monaghan named woman of the match.
