Boston led off in the first period with a Jake DeBrusk power play goal, his fifth of the season, powered by Sean Kuraly and David Krejci. Montreal tied it with a Shea Weber goal, his eighth of the year, guided in by Brendan Gallagher and Tomas Tatar. The Bruins took the lead back with a David Pastrnak power play goal, his twenty-first of the season, with assists provided by Charlie Coyle and Brad Marchand. Boston added on with a Marchand goal, his seventeenth of the year, coming off of Coyle. The Bruins extended the lead in the second period as Pastrnak scored his second of the game and twenty-second of the season, with the help of Marchand and Zdeno Chara. Boston chased Price with an Anders Bjork goal, his fourth of the year, via Kuraly. Keith Kinkaid relieved Price in goal. The Bruins padded the lead on a Pastrnak goal, which completed his hat trick on his twenty-third of the season, made possible by Brandon Carlo and Krejci. Boston kept going in the third period with a Coyle goal, his fifth of the year, with helpers from Torey Krug and Kuraly. The Bruins continued with a Danton Heinen goal, his fifth of the campaign, helped along by Jack Studnicka and Krug. This stood for an 8-1 final score, with the three stars given to Pastrnak, Marchand, and Coyle, while Kuraly, Krug, and Krejci get the honorable mentions.
Stateside, the New Jersey Devils welcome the Minnesota Wild. Kaapo Kahkonen and Louis Domingue are the backups in goal. Minnesota began in the first period with a Zach Parise power play goal, his tenth of the season, powered by Ryan Suter and Kevin Fiala. New Jersey tied it on a Jesper Boqvist goal, passed from Wayne Simmonds and Jack Hughes. The Wild retook the lead in the second period with a Jordan Greenway goal, his third of the year, fueled by Joel Eriksson Ek. The Devils evened it on a Kyle Palmieri power play goal, his ninth of the season, with helpers from Taylor Hall and Nico Hischier. Minnesota pulled ahead again in the third period with a Suter goal, his third of the year, guided in by Ryan Donato and Ryan Hartman. The final remained at 3-2, with the three stars given to Suter, Kahkonen (32 for 34 in saves), and Greenway.
Finally, the Chicago Blackhawks bring in the Dallas Stars. Anton Khudobin and Corey Crawford are the masked men. Chicago struck first in the first period with a Brandon Saad goal, his seventh of the season, made possible by Erik Gustafsson and Alex Nylander. The Blackhawks added on in the third period with a Patrick Kane power play goal, his twelfth of the year, powered by Alex DeBrincat and Andrew Shaw. Chicago iced it at 3-0 with a Connor Murphy empty net goal, his second of the campaign, going in unassisted. The three stars were Crawford (32 save shutout), Saad, and Kane.
