There's just two games today. The first is...
The Florida Panthers welcoming the Winnipeg Jets. Connor Hellebuyck and Sergei Bobrovsky man the nets. Florida opened in the first period with a Jonathan Huberdeau goal, his twenty-ninth of the season, coming off of Claude Giroux and Sam Bennett. The Panthers added on with another Huberdeau goal, his second of the game and thirtieth of the year, assisted by Giroux and Ben Chiarot. Florida extended the lead in the second period with a Gustav Forsling scored his seventh of the season, thanks to Sam Reinhart and Brandon Montour. The Panthers padded the lead on a Forsling goal, his second of the game and eighth of the year, passed from Huberdeau and Giroux. Eric Comrie replaced Hellebuyck in goal in the third period. Winnipeg got on the board in the third period with a Nikolaj Ehlers goal, his twenty-sixth of the season, made possible by Paul Stastny and Neal Pionk. Florida shot back with a Mason Marchment goal, his sixteenth of the year, helped along by Reinhart. The Panthers finished it at 6-1 with a Maxim Mamin goal, his sixth of the campaign, with helpers from MacKenzie Weegar and Patric Hornqvist. The three stars were Huberdeau, Forsling, and Giroux, while Reinhart gets an honorable mention.
Up in Montreal, the Canadiens bring in the New York Islanders. Ilya Sorokin and Carey Price are the masked men. New York dented the scoreboard in the third period with a Zach Parise goal, his fifteenth of the season, coming off of Mathew Barzal and Kieffer Bellows. The Islanders added on with a Noah Dobson goal, his eleventh of the year, courtesy of Brock Nelson. New York iced it at 3-0 with a Nelson empty net goal, his thirty-fourth of the campaign, set up by Anders Lee and Kyle Palmieri. The three stars went to Sorokin (44 save shutout), Nelson, and Parise.
