The Rangers gained the lead with a Barclay Goodrow goal, his third of the season, assisted by Jimmy Vesey and Jonny Brodzinski. The Red Wings tied it again in the second period with a J.T. Compher goal, his seventeenth of the year, guided in by Jeff Petry and David Perron. Detroit pulled ahead with a Dylan Larkin power play goal, his thirtieth of the season, powered by Perron and Shayne Gostisbehere. New York tied it on a Goodrow goal, his second of the game and fourth of the year, with helpers from Brodzinski and Vesey. Arizona pulled ahead with another Carcone goal, his second of the game and twenty-first of the season, made possible by Kerfoot and Travis Dermott. The Coyotes padded the lead on a Josh Brown goal, his second of the year, with helpers from Keller and Schmaltz. Arizona iced it at 7-4 with a Logan Cooley empty net goal, his eighteenth of the campaign, set up by Lawson Crouse and Dylan Guenther.
